Amazon Dead Rising 2 Pre-Order Bonuses/Pricing (X360/PS3)...Now with Best Buy!

NocturneManiac

CAGiversary!
Not going to outright beat the Gamestop bonus for most, but interesting for those who would rather use a different retailer for this game (sorry if already posted, didn't see one). ;)

For X360, Price is $55.99 FSS (of course) and comes with an avatar bonus for XBL:

For PS3, price is $56.99 with FSS and comes with a bonus theme for PSN:

Also discovered another alternative for bonuses (not so much for prices). Best Buy has their own Theme Pack, much like the Ninja one from Gamestop. This one is the Sports Theme Pack that came with the Outbreak Edition of the game in EU. Here is a pic and some info on the "bonus attributes" given with this outfit:

***Best Buy is offering the Sports Fans Skills Pack (more details to be announced soon) for both the 360 and PS3 version of DR2. What we know so far:

Pre-order Dead Rising 2 for Xbox 360 or PS3, and you'll be able to unlock this sporty outfit, which not only shows off Chuck’s team spirit, but also grants him new abilities:

Increased Power for All Sports Weapons
Baseball bats swing harder, balls bounce more, and the years of armchair coaching pay off when sports-themed weapons become greater tools of zombie destruction.

Unique Attack
Grab a football and plow down the undead competition with a powerful running stiff-arm.

Better Health Recovery
Who can go into the big game without half-time snacks? With the Sports Fan theme pack, Chuck earns additional health whenever he consumes food or drink. (Plus, he won't get sick when knocking back one too many brewskies.)

Increased Gambling Winnings
Your luck goes further than the field. Sports Fan Chuck will gain additional money whenever he wins in the casinos.***

This offer is not reflected on their website yet, so no proper link to the pre-order bonus itself. But just another option to think about for potential Dead Rising 2 buyers. Prices are still better @ Amazon atm.

i heard this game is gonna suck. im gonna wait for reviews.
edit: I heard it on podcast beyond and gamescoop. they are a couple of podcast from people who work at ign and have gotten some hands on time with it, they said it was glitchy. This does not mean it is guaranteed to suck, im not sure they played a final build of the game. But it does make me pause before dropping 60 bucks on it. i do want it to be good though I loved the first one.

Well if you're cancelling yours, then so am I!

I'd be worried about the slowdown that's been mentioned in a couple previews ... but the game looks like fun so I'll be in once it gets closer. You know there will be brick and mortar deals that will probably be better than this though, since it's a Capcom game (think Lost Planet 2 deals that were around right after launch). Just a thought ...
you guys are so defensive did you help make the game? jesh ill delete the post if it bugs you so much
Naw you don't have to do that man. I'm gonna get a copy now knowing it's gonna bomb so hard it will go out of print, meaning prices will go up in the future.

Did YOU help make the game? How do you know if it's going to suck? Exactly.

I ordered mine months ago, looking forward to this one... Just gamestop has the ninja pre-order items. So Amazon's XBL Avatar thing is really lame.
When you pre-order a game off Amazon, do you get any charges to your card when you make the order or when it's about to ship?
Only when it enters the shipping process.

Thank you kind sirs! I think I'll bite, and I can have them shipped to work. I won't have to wait until later that day to get them, 5 pm if I'm getting them shipped at home. But it does mean I can't stay home launch day! lol

Wow, pathetic.

What's the Gamestop bonus? Then again, anything is probably better than some useless e-clothing & a theme I could make myself.

I suspect you'd like the Gamestop preorder bonus.

GS offer is a ninja suit for chuck
I heard this game is gonna be awesome. I'm gonna buy it.
Cant tell you how many movies, games, comic books, music albums and so on Ive heard were gonna be awesome and were just shit at best. Never trust what you read about a game unless its from someone that has actually played the final product after its out, course even then its just their opinion and may not match yours. Then you have fanboy mentality to throw into the mix of things.

I have my reservations though because this is being made by another developer from north america and up till now all they have is baseball games. Capcoms luck of picking western developers has been shit past couple years.

I wonder why DR2 hasn't got a game credit at Amazon yet? I have it preordered but if it doesn't get atleast a $10 credit I may cancel mine amd wait for a sale.

I am worried too. Every capcom game by a western developer has been crap lately.

Because walmart hasn't put a $10 gift card onto it, that's why :p
Obviously that 360 pre-order bonus means Legends 3 is coming soon.
R...right guys?
As much as I'd like to think that it is a hint at it, the Servbot also made an appearance in Dead Rising 1 so it could just be from that.

Inafune did however mention that aside from Mega Man Universe, there is another Mega Man game in the works that has been an often requested one. I have my fingers crossed that it'll be Legends 3, or I'd even love X9. :p

And that Avatar costume is pretty badass, I like it more than the Gamestop bonus. However, I am a huge Mega Man fan so that could just be biased.

I admit to being a little nervous over the game not being developed by Capcom. However, I'm in the camp that really didn't have any problems with Dead Rising 1. For me personally, it's gonna be hard for them to screw it up unless the deviate wildly from the original formula and mechanics.

At least you can shell out a few bucks for Case Zero and see if it's worth a release day purchase...if you own a 360. -_-

On the topic of Servbots - I think I saw a few in that Street Fighter X Tekken trailer from ComicCon.

Yea there were some shown in the background of the stage in the gameplay video. Found it weird since it's not Capcom vs. Tekken, but rather just Street Fighter vs. Tekken.

I was thinking that as well, but then I realized how Capcom is getting worse than Namco these days with all the "guests" and cameo appearances in games. Someone is bound to show up somewhere in DR2. Wesker, some random dude from Monster hunter, who knows.

Lol, wouldn't be surprised since both Wesker and said random dude from Monster Hunter appeared in Lost Planet 2. :p

I thought the partial Mega Man related appearances in Dead Rising 1 were pretty cool though.

It felt subtle in DR1, because it felt normal to see the Mega Man toys and accessories in the toystore in the mall. Seeing Wesker on EDN-13 or whatever the name of the Lost Planet is just felt ridiculous. Oh well, guess there's nothing wrong with a little fan service.

Just a heads up to those choosing GS over Amazon due to the pre-order bonus: the Ninja bonus is a timed exclusive and it has been confirmed that it will be available for download on XBL at a later date to those who don't preorder.

I'm pretty sure these avatar items are in the same boat, but at least with Amazon you save yourself from having to pay tax, plus you get an extra $3 - $4 off MSRP.

That is good to know with the inclusion of the Best Buy bonus theme pack, since I wouldn't be able to get both otherwise (and I DO want both). So, I think it may be better for me to personally go with Best Buy (to use my Rewards) and then just wait for the Ninja later. I would go with Amazon for the better prices, but I figure if you have to pay for the packs later, then it may sort of cancel out. Don't know the exact details of the future DLC pricing for the two packs (or if they may somehow be free), but just guessing that there will be some sort of charge.

That's good to know...really don't like giving my money to Gamestop and I can wait a bit on the ninja costume but I would like to have it at some point. I'm really hoping Amazon goes ahead and does one of those $10 future gaming cash deals on this one.
