Games that activate on Origin

Per MysterD's suggestion:

Here's the Steam Key Activation Page List.

NOTE: This list is incomplete so if you're unsure you still want to ask in the thread.

I'll be posting this a few times in this thread. I also post this regularly whenever people ask about activation limits with Amazon Game Downloads:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_200205020_times?nodeId=200205020&#times

How many times can I download my games or software?

You can download an unlimited number of times for personal use. To re-download, go to Your Games and Software Library through the "Your Digital Items" link at the top of the screen and click the download button.
Can I download and install to multiple computers?

For video games: Each game manufacturer has a different policy on how many installations are allowed with each product key. If you run out of installations for the product key you originally purchased from Amazon, please contact Customer Service and we will happily provide you with another key at no additional charge. You can install an unlimited number of times for personal use, however additional copies of the game for friends or family must be purchased separately.

Awesome, thanks for the info!
I'll have to take the time sometime to re-download the game all patched-up.

I never sign up for these services and only did it this time, only because it was promoted by Amazon.com and after this my confidence with Amazon just doubled

Thank you Amazon :applause:

Edit : why didn't Amazon PMed Steam sale for Saint's Row The Third ?

And by the way, I have Assassin's Creed Revelations and COD Black Ops to trade for Alan Wake CE and Saint's Row The Third :D
I just want to reach out here as well. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with audible and hope if you enjoy audio books you give them a second chance. It is not a scam. I have been a member for years and love the service. My morning commute would be much worse without it. I have always found them very up front and honest and support top notch.
Just an FYI, I just got Payday for $7.50 on amazon and got a free $10 promotion towards a video game .. effectively getting the game for free and getting a free $2.50 credit. The way they list it (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-40814Y-T...1OSG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1330929303&sr=8-4)
I just noticed this, does anyone know which other games have same $10 promotion?

Edit: I found the answer, the games which have a square banner showing $10 Offer at store page will have this promotion

Really? So, if i grab Divinity 2, i'll get 10$ credit?

Regards!
I have played it in Spanish.

I also see English and Italian on installation wizard.

Voices are English always. Texts depends on your language selection.
Thank you ;)

I bought Divinity II and didn't get a $10 promo I don't think. I see a square banner promoting mass effect pre order though

I think so, you can ask amazon customer service to confirm it, but the 10$ credit you can only used it on ME3 pre-order, other than that, if you pre-order ME3, you will get another 10$ credit towards any video game

Would definitely like to know more about that $10 credit as well, if it is for ME3 only as suggested above, or general Amazon credit.

The 10 dollar credit is for a me3 preorder. People are just getting csr reps to credit their accounts due to ignorance.

To clarify this the $10 credit is only for those who pre-order Mass Effect 3. Sorry for the confusion. I'll also let CS know so they aren't issuing thousands of $10 credits lol.

The advertisement you're seeing on those pages calls it out pretty clearly that the credit is for Mass Effect 3 though, not sure how to make it clearer.

Cheers,
Tony

Yeah, the ad/deal is pretty clearly delineated so I'm not sure how anyone is getting confused about it.

I don't think they are confused. I think they are just trying to take advantage of it.

Hey all. On Sunday I bought the Divinity II - DKS.
I have downloaded the game and the installation is stopped several minutes extracting installers of Acrobat Reader. In the end It install correctly.
This is not only my problem, It happened to other friends.

Any idea?

Thanks.
Too bad Dragon Knight Saga can't be steam activated :\
Come on man, it's DRM FREE; it's not being updated anymore and the STEAM version doesn't have achievements anyways.

ruuin,

I had the same problem. It hung for probably 15 mins or more on the stupid adobe reader spanish file. I eventually end tasked it. The game still seems to play fine though.

Yeah the advertisement is clear when you read it, but it's in the same spot as when you have a $10 credit for buying the game you are looking at, so it's kind of confusing. You might want to put it elsewhere, or maybe label the box with a "Also available" or "You might also be interested in this offer". When I went to the purchase page to see what everyone was talking about, my initial reaction was, I get $10 for ME3 if I preorder it with Divinity II and a $10 future credit for the ME3 preorder. And that was just because of the position of the advertisement.
Dead Island is a cool game? Worth it?
It is like Fallout 3 with zombies. That is the best way to describe it, IMO. I loved the game. I don't think it ever recovered from the launch disaster as most people wrote it off as a flop after that. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, right?

However, once they patched it up, I think it became a pretty good game. It is not great. But it is very good and you can spend your time and money on far worse games than Dead Island, IMO.

How's the co-op? Only reason I'm considering it, don't really care for single player zombie killing. Chatting with a friend while lopping off limbs is way more fun, no matter how good/bad/mediocre the game.

Picked up divinity! I'm debating cities 2012 as well. I'm a big sim city fan, and i enjoyed the beta that i played of 2011, though it was buggy.

Although it is not mentioned on Amazon's page, I believe that it does have Securom in it so be warned.

I loved the co-op. Played it on 360 with my brother. I've never had much love for online gaming, but I love co-op. Its not nearly as spooky in co-op, since you have someone to watch your back, but its a lot of fun, with a bunch of quests. Its a lot more like what I had hoped L4D was going to be. There's something incredibly satisfying about breaking arms and chopping off limbs and having the zombie stumble forward helplessly but angry.

So Cities doesn't activate through steam?

Ummm, I wouldn't fully compare Dead Island to Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 had some decision-making elements that made changes to the game-world, its inhabitants, and the main game's actual ending.
Also, FO3 is more dialogue-tree heavy and story-heavy than DI.
FO3 also gives most of the gameworld to you, if you want it, at the jump - while in DI and Borderlands, you have to push the main-quest's story ahead to actually push yourself into the next major hub/area.

Dead Island is more like say Borderlands - first-person action-RPG (ARPG), but DI focuses instead on loot-crazy melee weapons [while Borderlands focused on going gun-crazy for its loots].
Both DI and Borderlands are REALLY good for 4 player MP co-op, as well.

Yeah, a melee version of Borderlands is a good comparison. Don't bother using guns. They suck and ammo is too rare until about halfway through the game. I didn't care for the throwing weapon specialist either. Its too easy for your weapons to go flying off a cliff. Go with the ninja chick and the rapper (blunt weapons) and you'll have no issues.
So Cities doesn't activate through steam?
No. If you want it on Steam you will have to buy it there. The publisher, Focus Home Interactive, put out Game of Thrones Genesis on Steamworks, but all the rest of their games as far as I am aware have do not Steam activate and have older more draconian forms of DRM.
Although it is not mentioned on Amazon's page, I believe that it does have Securom in it so be warned.
That may rule it out then. Part of the reason I went for divinity was because it was DRM free. DRM is such a huge pain that I don't like buying games which are protected buy it.

I'd be more inclined to purchase through amazon DD if they were more transparent about DRM like Steam is - as in it being listed in the product description. Does anyone know what DRM mlb 2k12 comes with? I gather it's securom like nba 2k12.
It's been almost 30 minutes installing the Adobe reader on the Divinity 2 installer!. Now it finished.
Yeah the installer takes forever to install different language versions of Adobe Reader (or at least extracting the install files), at first I thought my install was bork until I noticed that each file was for different languages.

Also for those whom run SLI or Crossfire setup (like me), be sure to disable it as Divinity 2 does not support SLI/Crossfire. Supposedly this will make the game perform better according to Larian Studio.

Thanks for the feedback on the DRM communication. This is an active action item that we meet on weekly and are working towards a solution on.

Cheers,

Hey Tony thanks for the sale on Divinity II: DKS I snagged that.

I wanted to ask you a question though, any plans to match or potentially beat the Steam sale on SIMS 3 and its expansion and stuff packs ? :D here is a link to their sale. http://store.steampowered.com/app/47890/
Most are 66% off except Pets and Master suites which are 50% and 25% off respectively, while Showtime isn't on sale, which makes sense it just came out. Thanks in advance for your response appreciate, you are the man Tony! Keep up the good work!
bunch of people asked about sims 3 sales - just thought i'd point out - steam is having a 66% off sims 3 sale
Hamsters are running fast guys.

Out of curiousity, will the Sims 3 addons install onto the Steam version of the base game? I know with Steam some games you can get the expansions/DLC elsewhere and just install and some you can't. I'm going to guess no since this is EA we are talking about here, but just curious.

Just how many hamsters does Amazon have? And where can we apply for the position of Director of Hamster Resources? I imagine you guys have a great HR department.

I apologize for these jokes, they are terrible.

Still holding out for a $20 or below sale on Battlefield 3 someday.
