Hey CAGS,

I’ve got some news I’m both excited and sad to share with you at the same time. I’ll be leaving the Digital Video Games team in Mid-March to join the marketing team for Amazon.com’s Loyalty and Rewards program, Amazon Coins. My boss and I have talked extensively about how to maintain and continue our presence here and across the other communities we’ve created in the past couple of years. To that end I’d like to introduce you to Josh, who take over monitoring, updating, and responding to this thread. Josh will be ramping up over the next couple of weeks, he  will be posting shortly to introduce himself.

Now that the “what’s going on” part of the message is out of the way I want to tell you all how much I love CAG and the posters here. This was the first community I joined when I started this job (anyone still remember that first thread?) and all of you have had a huge hand in shaping how we think about and execute Community Development and Management here at Amazon, which has in turn shaped my career these last two and a half years.

I started to write out a section calling out the regular posters and realized the list would be both overly long and incomplete at the same time. Instead I’d like to thank you all again, you all have my deep and sincere gratitude. I’ll still be around and my gaming accounts aren’t going anywhere so feel free to hit me up anytime you want to chat. I’ll probably still hang out in the thread too :).

Thanks again everyone, let me or Josh know if you have any questions!

The Indie Store has launched!
Amazon.com is launching a storefront dedicated to supporting and promoting PC/Mac/Web-based Indie Games. Our Digital Video Games team is a small group of passionate gamers and we’re all really excited to help Indie developers reach more customers quickly by providing a quick and simple process for bringing their games to market. Additionally we’ll be supporting the Indie Store with a ton of promotions, both at and after launch. Many of these promotions are designed to give the developer the opportunity to maximize their revenue. For example, Amazon is forfeiting all royalties from bundle sales and passing them along directly to the developer, we’ve also created an “Indie Spotlight” program to help customers learn more about the games and developers they love. We view the Indie developers as some of the most creative in the industry and we want to help them continue to create new and innovative experience for customers.

Why we are doing this:

  • Allow customers to discover an entirely new category of games on Amazon.com
  • Help developers reach new customers quickly. Our onboarding process is straightforward and we want to sell every Indie game available
  • We want to leverage our strengths to support and help the developers who are driving forward innovation and creativity in the games industry
General Information

Hi CAGs,
I'll be posting deals we're running on Digital Games (PC/Mac, Free to Play, Sony/Microsoft Points/Subs).

I'm also here to answer questions you might have, get you closer to the developers by hosting Q&As, setting up podcasts, live streaming gameplay etc. If I don't respond to a question you have in thread please send me a PM. These ping my email address and make it more likely that I will see your question and respond more quickly.

Cheers,
Tony

FYI. EA Games sold by Amazon will not activate on Steam.
F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.

5. Price Matching notes: Generally we do not match international retailers (GMG, Gamersgate, etc) or physical retailers (Best Buy, Newegg.com, etc.)
To check out the Free-2-Play games we offer you can visit our storefront here: Free-2-Play Store

What's the word with the price flip on the Thief in the Shadows pack? Sale list has it for $4.99 but it's currently $5.99. Minor glitch? I know it's only a buck but... you know how it is to be a CAG lol.

Finally caught up with the thread, this thread is moving even faster than the steam thread.

I started replying to all the "Tony is on Reddit more than Amazon posts" and I hit the limit of quote boxes.

I should have addressed this earlier and didn't. The reason it looks like I'm on Reddit more than here is because I recently got a new phone and I am having a bear of a time logging into CAG from it for some reason. I need to download the Dolphin browser I think.

Anyway, alot of the time when I'm replying to a ton of stuff, I'm doing it on the run, on the bus, when i wake up in the morning, etc.

Totally bogus and I'm really sorry it feels like I haven't been posting here as much.

I'll get the mobile log in fixed right now.

Cheers,

Tony
So after reading the last 20 pages, the summary is...

Tony got kidnapped by the redditors.

Tony has a new toy.

Tony comes back and gives every cag his awesome $5 Amazon deals.

hvBONk7.jpg

And $1 Brink~
 I've lost count of how many times I liked this post in this thread, Brink complete pack is the only game I am missing from Bethesda and I seriously hope to pick up the complete pack for below $5 with the EC.

Oh, no keys yet. I will wait then.

I bought the AC3 Deluxe pack, so I am feeling great anyway :)
Is it worth it to get the deluxe version or season pass for AC3? I think I will be burned out before I finish AC3, so if the DLCs are not that important to the story line I might as well just get the regular version.

I got my email almost immediately for the $5 App Store credit.   Fine print shows that $5 can only be used in the Amazon app store.  Also, Amazon apps have to be updated through their store even if they are installed on your phone.  Google play will not recognize them if you got them from Amazon.

duriickkkk :D woow ur buying a crappy game and not even da steam version? ewwww . Risen 2 is horrible too ;P

ME Trilogy is 10 bux just for u d- go get it hehe
I already own ME1,2,3!

I actually liked Risen 2 quite a bit - see my Steam recommendation. :p

Defiance - I like the gameplay itself and its combat, even though the dialogue & voice-acting ain't that hot.

Off to work now!

See y'all later tonight!

y u do dissss ;( get something good and not crappy bro.

Wait on this. We don't have Steam keys yet so if you find a version with a buy box it won't be a steam one. I will update when we have keys.

Cheers,

Tony
Great :)

Not sure if this has been mentioned but GUN is on sale for 4.99

http://www.amazon.com/Activision-GUN-Online-Game-Code/dp/B00D7N1ONE/ref=dsvrt_myd_asin_block

Its an Activision game and a Steam code and I don't know if its been 4.99 on Steam before...I think Gamefly might have had it for 4.99 but not a Steam code.
Highly reccomended

The secret world, castle of illusion, tomb raider, mystara...

Tony, y u do dis?

I have high hopes on the castle of illusion game, I'm a fan of the original game and saw some videos that were really great. Seems they did a great job here. Anyone played it? Also, anyone played mystara?

Hey Tony,

I've got a couple of things....

I missed the NFS Most Wanted Sale on the Complete DLC pack and was wondering if it was coming back? I already bought the base game and like it but hate the way they handle the dlc in the game. I would have bought the DLC last sale had I known otherwise lol. I looked at the spreadsheet and it looks like its only the base game for $4.99 again.

Secondly, I was wondering if you have the Steam keys ready to go for the Sega 48 game megapack? They are still showing up as unavailable on the page so far even at regular price.

Thanks again
Hello Tony, I see you mentioned the NFS Most Wanted complete DLC pack not going to be on sale but will there be any upcoming sale for the NFS Most Wanted Pack? Thank you in advance.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered a few times but I'm not seeing it on the front page so...

The 5 dollar credit says buy anything from...

Keyword being anything.  Is it smarter to buy things in a group (to trigger a minimum) or smarter to buy everything separate for multiple 5 dollar off coupons?  (I do know the coupons won't stack...  So I guess you can earn multiple credits.)

Last a question for Tony...

Why don't you guys carry steam copies of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series or even the entire series in digital format?  (You only have one in digital format and its from you all)

Also kick Activision in the butt and get Deadpool and the Transformer games on sale at some point. :)

Tony,

Can you do Dark Messiah: Might and Magic for $2.50? That's the price it was at last year, but it's sitting at $5 now and it's not in the spreadsheet, so I'm guessing it's just PM'd to somewhere.

http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Messiah-Might-Magic-Download/dp/B0030GG2VC

Would also grab Shank 1 for $2.50 in a heartbeat (though I bet a double-pack at $5 would do well, too, though I have the 2nd game already.) For some reason Amazon doesn't have Shank 1 at all, and Shank 2 is origin only? Shank 1 is 5.00 on Steam (whole sale) and Shank 2 3.39 (same.) Amazon has Shank 2 (Origin) at 9.99.

Seems like a Kiei platformer bundle of Shank1-2, Mark of the Ninja, and Don't Starve would sell well:

Any reason none of the Ys games are on Amazon?

no for AC3 yes for AC4 if/when you buy it

3 was well made, just did not like the main character. you can you tube watch the side story dlc. an it very easy burn out on AC series much as i love them, too much of the same stuff just get repetitious .

Man... Tomb Raider for $5? How can I pass that up?

I know I won't get around to playing it anytime soon, and I know it will be $5 again some day.

I might just skip it. :(

Could anyone confirm that I'm not going nuts already?

I could've sworn that when I checked the SEGA 48-Game Mega Arcade Pack yesterday it had listed DRM: Steam right next to it. I left the tab open because the bundle went down to $4.95 today and instantly bought it without re-checking. Naturally, I ended up with Non-Steam versions of the games.  :wall:

Did I miss something or did Amazon run out of Steam keys for the pack and provided Non-Steam copies instead?

They ran out of steam keys. Tony specifically posted not to buy it until he gave the all-clear.

He didn't give the all-clear.

fixed for u ehhe

Oh man, I haven't been here in a while. Probably because I ALREADY OWN ALL THE GAMES EVER THANKS TONY.

I've still been hoarding EC coupons, will next year be better than this years?

How would you buy things in a group? There isn't any cart for the digital games part of Amazon.
Yeah, I don't really shop on Amazon... and looking around at cl4ym4n's issue I'm not really tempted to start. I was looking at two games that are supposedly steam codes but the file size is way too big to just be a code. (I looked at one bundle that had mixed DRM and the file size was KB vs GBs.)
