Amazon vs North Carolina DOR (back taxes you owe your state)

CAGiversary!
This is way off topic of gaming but I thought this would be an interesting read. If Amazon losses in this case I think more states will follow suit. I realize some other states may have already done so in the past as well. This state is broke and is looking for ways to get some $$ back. Buyers beware and think before you purchase a big ticket item from an E-tailer that do not collect taxes from your state.

Unfortunately, since Amazon opened up warehouses in my home state of PA, that means I may now have to pay the 6% sales tax here for shit I buy from them. That could add up when buying larger ticket items(like the LCD HDtv/monitor I was thinking of buying from them).

But to go after past buyers for 'taxes owed' if they didn't already levy the taxes on those buyers when they bought the items is bullshit.

If you drive a car I'll tax the street
If you try to sit I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk I'll tax your feet

Even with an amazon warehouse in my state NH still no tax, but they more than make up for it with high ass prices on everything else around here.
