Checked to make sure that my wave 3b in-stores were acually reserved at my local BBY (and they were - all the preorders were picked with their stickers already) and was told that they only received enough for pre-orders for this part of the wave (MK/MM/Ike/DDD).

Wish they'd put up some signage at the doors to indicate this so people don't end up as popsicles on the sidewalk waiting for something that was never available to begin with unless you pre-ordered.

I'm surprised they don't have a limit on them already at every retailer.

Like I said, I already have one. The extras would be for two friends who like Smash and one for me to stay in the box. A little more notice than one day would have been nice.

I was in GS yesterday and they told me Friday was the day. Maybe they just don't read memos at all at this GS.

I thought once was enough but Amber just couldn't let it go. Now my marriage to be is over and my life is ruined.

Honestly If I was just getting into Amiibos now, I'd just work for a week and then go buy that complete wave 1-2 US set off Ebay for $595.  Or that one with wave 1-2 + wave 3 exclusives for $750.

Yay! Walmart shipped mega man 2 minutes ago. Should be here Saturday or Monday. Now if toysrus have my pre ordered ike tomorrow or Saturday and my collection is complete for wave 3.

Wasn't going to feed the trolls, but this move by Gamestop is no where near socialism - it's pure capitalism. They make their money whether they sale 3 to one person, or 3 to three different people. Profit doesn't factor in here. So, what's a good capitalist company to do here? Make one person very happy, or make 2 people very happy and role the dice on how the original person felt? Seems like Gamestop went with the best business move to avoid as much negative attention/ customer animosity as possible. Just because it looks like a Socialist Duck, don't mean Gamestop is walking the Communist two-step little buddy ;-)

 
Well, I'm going to bed, leaving my phone alerts on, and then praying the bad weather keeps the crowds away and I'll be able to get a Meta Knight if I show up 45 minutes before opening. I'm not getting my hopes up after my experience at TRU last Friday...

This guy who keeps complaining obviously is dealing with a super shitty Gamestop. Just caught up with all that non-sense that he was putting out there.

First, as shown in the memos posted on here many times, all the dates in there were ETAs, not street dates. In fact, the memo said that the products were not street dated. It was my experience with my other pre-orders that most arrived on Wednesdays, though my text alerts occasionally told me to pick up on Friday (at least Bowser did, but again, he was there two days early.), amiibos have NEVER been hard dated for a Friday at GS like they have been at TRU or BB. Aside from that, if you get there at 8AM on Wednesday, good luck leaving with any Ikes at all unless you plan on hanging out there for another couple of hours, since the message specifically says Wednesday afternoon, presumably because shipments will not arrive until around noon or later that day. Not sure how it's bad customer service

The retroactive "1 per household" stunt Gamestop pulled may backfire on them. They burned the people who pre-ordered multiple amiibo, selling the freed-up inventory to people who didn't preorder. Sure, they made more people happy this time around, but what about next wave? The buyers they burned will preorder their multiple amiibo elsewhere, so even fewer of the rare amiibo will be shipped to Gamestops. Everyone who didn't preorder will complain, and Gamestop employees will just say "You should have preordered!"

It's a shame that Gamestop is being showed up by all the other retailers, since gaming merchandise is supposed to be their specialty. Why allow customers to preorder multiples of an item in the first place, if you're just going to refuse to sell them more than one? There are plenty of valid reasons for ordering extras.

boo hoo, a bunch of fucking scalpers and a few collectors get burned up by gamestop, big deal. Only the scalpers of any kind would complain about this, collectors will be happy to get at least one, and if they need another to open will have very little problems importing or waiting it out. What GameStop is doing is awesome and should be the standard for pre-orders of limited items with them.

Yeah this. If i was just getting started, i would get a couple of the commons i like, then get the recently released rare ones at msrp if possible, then pay over msrp (20-40$) for ONLY one of the earlier rares that i really like, after that i'll just concentrate on upcoming waves.

The main reason why they are limiting one per person is because they will not have enough to even fulfill all of the preorders for the ones they currently have. That is what the memo said in our computer. This means that that extra 1 or 2 amiibos will go to actual people that have it preordered, there won't be "extras".

Fortunately, at least if how I got my Rosalina is any indication, living in Mississippi has its advantages; not many people seem to give a shit. It's not like New York or Cali or places with an actual city-like population. So maybe I'll luck out tomorrow. I plan on going out early, but I'm not going HOURS early to hell with that noise. I got a life and newborn.

Just got off work and had to grab some crap at walmart.. Drove by best buy and there are 7 guys sitting in folding chairs.. It's only 11pm here.. I'd rather pay 50$ for something than sit somewhere for 8+ hours. I'd rather work.
