Two things: Was Rosalina really plentiful, or did it just seem that way because Target didn't do pre-orders?

Also, South Jersey amiibo crew, what do I need to do to get one of these golden fucking Mario figurines?
We could form a gang and blockade a Walmart while each member gets in to get one and the rest keep electronics section blocked.

Well, knock on wood, but my order still seems to be in good standing. I ordered during the 2nd wave. I got it on the computer, but through the mobile site.

So uh...I came home to two boxes today. I was only expecting one.As it turns out, Target accidentally sent me two Dedede Amiibos.

Seriously. I only bought one, and my card is only charged for one...the packing slips appear identical. Weird, I wonder how that happened.

HEY, YOU BOUGHT TWO COPIES OF SUPER MARIO 3D LAND!!! SUCH A SCALPER!

Must be why I can't find any at GameStop and why TRU/BB/Target won't fulfill my pre-order... :shame:

I just wanted to play Super Mario 3D land! Is that too much to ask for? Thanks a lot!

Dang! I would have hit you up on this. I've seen no hide nor hair of this guy since I started, so elusive!! I actually have Rainbow Curse too so it's doubly tragic :wall: Congrats on other's misfortune tho lol.

All I know is that Meta Knight consistently sells for between $40 and $50, while I've seen people struggle selling Rosalina for $20
last 10 ebay sold avgs.
MK: 41.75
Rosalina: 34.50

It is interesting to watch all of these things vary from week to week.. CF is on the way up..

Well, you're next on the list if Deader2818 doesn't have anything I need. :)

I love it honestly. Despite what people here may think, we all don't buy out stock and steal candy from babies. I mostly get deals from clearances (so old stuff no one in my area wanted) or by stacking deals. I than sell lower than stores.

I (and other resellers) think of it as you paying us for the service of doing research, waiting in line, driving all over town, etc. Than you still get a great deal by buying say AC: Unity for $35 on eBay as appose to $50 from Target.

I wouldn't say it's easy though but I resell for a living. It's second nature at this point but its a lot of work. Balancing school, research, driving, packaging, taxes, business deals, etc., it adds up. But I love it.
It is a thrill, I will say that.

Since people dont talk about amiibos anymore... other then buying. I want to be different...

Working on a new project to take my zelda amiibo and give it a overhaul paint job, add wings, to make it resemble my normal RPG/MMO persona design. When Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires came out. I felt that looking at this design, could possibly transfer on to Zelda.

I don't have to work tomorrow so I'll sporadically refresh my cart throughout the night and tomorrow, but I won't stay glued to the computer. I've lucked out standing in line hours before the stores have opened to get my hands on most of Wave 3B. This one...  might be different animal, though. I hate Walmart as it is so I couldn't envision any sort of orderly way of them selling these things in store. More like every man for himself.

So, are people still having luck at WM with the Gold Amiibo? It's still showing in stock. Or is WM's site just being shitty?

So all the people ordering 2+ for "trading" are in full panic mode because wal-mart is cancelling your multiple orders of 2?

eBay buyers might be upset that their "trade" fell through. ;)

So I haven't been following this for a while. I WIS a shulk amiibo when I picked up my N3DS on release day. I already know the projected release day to ship them is May 1st, but has there been any updates if that is actually the ship date, coming sooner, later, etc?

That sounds all super cool and all, but none of that is happening in this thread and other big threads (Zelda 3ds, and LE threads). If you find stuff in the middle of no where, on discount, and sell it less than one can buy it online, great. That's amazing as both parties actually benefit. You make money, they get something cheaper than otherwise.

The thing that really irks me about scalping is that the mutual benefit of a normal seller-buyer transaction is gone. If there were little to no sellers, then the buyers would be more likely to find the thing they want in the stores that the sellers bought them all from. The only factor in not getting a product is the fact that they are simply sold out, instead of sitting on ebay or craigslist.

And don't say that I am salty. I have a full McDonalds toy set, a skull kid amiibo, and I could have gotten a Zelda gameboy if I wanted to... I simply just didn't care for the $200 price when sales will come in the fall.

But no, I get it. If people want to give you free money for no reason, it is foolish to not take it. I still don't like it.

I don't get why people get so mad about what people sell.

Everything you buy is based on that same concept. Anyone bought a new TV lately? 15-30% mark up depending on where you buy it from.

And that's the difference between reselling and scalping. Scalping is buying an item and selling it for over MSRP but its also buying out stock, selling absurdly high (and not what the market determines but just selling high) or even going the illegal route to obtain profit (return fraud, etc.).

Do you see the people complaining about how they have work, school, baby sitting, whatever and "can't" get a deal. Do you really think that person is going to invest the time to learn how to extreme coupon in order to get items for cheap. Hell, people can do that now with food but only what 2% of grocery shoppers actually use coupons. You give people too much credit. Majority of people value their time more than getting a deal or researching how to save money.

I could care less how much salt is in your blood, but let's not sit here and pretend majority of people would actually take the time to learn store policy (every store), stalk pre-order times, learn about store openings, wait in line for a product, drive to multiple stores, etc to get a deal. That is not the case.

And no, people don't want to give away money, but people who obviously have more money than you and I care more about getting a product than how much they spend on it. Some people just have more money than others and rather not research to get a product. Others don't.

So how many times did this gold Mario come up? Once at like 11:20 AM, once again at like 2:30 PM, and one more time an hour later? That was all before the cancelations.

Then right after cancelations, they went up a 4th time and since then, the site has been glitched, right?

So, were people able to order more than one order with two in this most pervious one?

If so, those will probably be canceled as well, thus one more chance at this.

Blah blah scalpers blah blah blah resellers blah blah blah gold Mario... I don't know why I took the time to catch up on this.... At lease I know one thing this thread is living proof that if lessons aren't learned history will repeat itself... Or in this case post the same arguments over and over with no new insights or perspectives

Nintendo has only themselves to blame for "scalping." These are only limited due to Nintendo's intentional policy of undersupplying. They should either increase quantity or increase price until the supply of these lasts in the weeks, not days or minutes. Until Nintendo changes its policy, price arbitrage will be the norm, not the exception.

Nah, because then if they put to much product out then it just sits on shelves and warehouses and they lose money.

Honestly, its a catch 22 all around. If people werent buying up everything they can for whatever reason then this wouldnt be a problem at all

They are already losing money. Resellers are capturing a significant percentage of the current value of Amiibos due to supply issues.

So far, so good on my 1 order of the Gold Mario.  It shows it is in the processing phase on Walmart.com, and my card has cleared the transaction.  Here's hoping it isn't cancelled.

So, when will Wave 4 go up?

At this point I want to be lied to again and for someone to say wave 4 is up.. I love a good discussion thread but I heard this all before and unless Nintendo throws a rare amiibo in our mouths it's never gonna end

So you say you are not a scalper, good. Fine with me.

Yes people value their time, but I was talking about MSRP. Are you defending scalpers and their "work" or not? I can't tell.

I only preemptively mention it because I see people saying salt salt salt whine whine whine all of the time. Merely an attempt to bring it up before someone else does.

I don't want to assume that scalper victims are all well of people who clearly don't care about their money as much as you or I. Maybe they are just someone who doesn't have the "luxury" of stalking this thread like I do. They just have no other choice, and that just plain sucks for everyone.
Also, how much less could you care? Unless you couldn't care less. Sorry but I hate that phrase when it is said wrong.
