The Aventura, Fl Best Buy store only had enough Pit Amiibos to fill pre-orders. The Target store there had no Pit Amiibos either. 

 
Picked up a samus and Zelda yesterday using the kongregate coupons at GameStop. The manager told me their branch was only getting 3 pits in a few days.

My best buy order for pit and falcon is still in process. Anyone hear back from their TRU order?
 
My Best Buy marked my two Pit and two Captain Falcon orders as ready for pickup yesterday. I went in yesterday and they assured me they had them but I couldn't pick them up until today. I went in today and they told me they didn't have them yet. Seriously?

I'm really regretting making all my Wave 3 preorders store pickup, as today's mess follows the same store screwing up my Little Mac preorder (they did the same thing - marked it ready for pickup, then canceled it - since it was marked for pickup initially I did not get the $25 credit others got). Apparently Best Buy is going to call me when my orders are actually ready for pickup, but I'm not putting much faith in it. Someone will probably put them out on the floor before letting the front desk pull pre-orders.

 
Store pickup from BBY is awful at best. I think it's only worked out once in my favor when I got the pickup email early and was able to get Wolfenstein a few days early. I've had a handful of poor experiences though- shipping only for me.

 
Called my store, only Captain Falcon and Luigi are ready for pick up (not Pit). They're set aside for me at Best Buy so I'll wait and see before making multiple trips :cry:

 
Best Buy has me waiting too.  Went in yesterday and was told Pit was there, but I couldn't have it until Tuesday. Got the call this morning saying they didn't have it and would call me when they did.  They've been really friendly and apologetic about it, but it's still pretty frustrating.  At least it seems to be a company wide problem rather than my store accidentally selling my pre-order.  They did offer to discount it for me when (if?) it arrives so that's nice.

I'm not sure. My BB was completely empty. Not even a Mario, which was surprising. Just the week before it was full of Mario, Peach, etc (all the commons). Maybe Christmas did them in and they haven't restocked yet.

Has to be either that or they take them back off the racks and pretend they sold out to increase demand. I'll guess they simply sold them for Christmas and such. Even the "common" ones could be rare pretty quick if they don't ship more.

Same thing here. I received the "ready for pickup" notification, but it wasn't there (Captain Falcon was, but no Pit). I asked if I would just always get a "ready for pickup" e-mail for all pre-orders whether they actually have them or not. The explanation was that pre-orders are filled with "guaranteed" stock, but they didn't end up receiving them. I guess it's not really "guaranteed" if they didn't receive it.... There have been quite a few wasted trips to Best Buy for these Amiibos only to be told they aren't there or they are there and can't be sold.

Almost, it's hard to tell since there's no good shot of the card backs, but they've got extra writing on them.

And I'll add in-store pick up at BB is the worst, and has NEVER worked for me. Either I get a call the item is out of stock, go in with my pick up email to find no item available, or the best, they can't find the item and I've physically gone to the sales floor to get the item and take it to guest service myself.

Not even close. You can clearly see "Super Smash Bros. Collection" under the logo (not present on US packaging) and you can see the character name and number in the other corner (US packaging just says "6+" in that location).

 
Any report if TRU got their Pit and/or Captain Falcon or even a restock of wave 1 common? I'd like to take advantage of their B1G40 sale.

when I placed all my BB orders during the buy 2 get 1, I initally chose store pickup and then thought about that giant order info sticker that they place on the product. Glad I chose shipping after reading about all these issues

It's actually from a forum member from GAF that ordered it from Amazon de. There are more pics there. All 6 boxes were folded up. Its either idiotic packaging or lazy packaging because they could have flipped 3 of the boxes around and it would have fit without folding the boxes.

I initially had them all pre-ordered for shipping, then changed them to in-store pickup after seeing them arriving in plastic bags. I'll see if their store pickup stickers do more damage than their shipping.

I have separate Falcons and another pit I can trade for a Little Mac since my friend fell through and thought a bent package meant mint on his little Mac.

I've picked up a few from BB, they have always placed that sticker over the clear plastic on the front. it has always pulled off cleanly without issue. If they placed the sticker on the cardboard back, then it might be a different story.

 
Best Buy had Only one Falcon on the floor, 5 reserved. 0 Pit on the floor, but 3 reserved. Here is what the floor display looked like

If the stickers are more "fresh" they peel a lot easier, you can also request them (i think) to put like only the corner of the sticky back on the product.

I think BB does ship to home and ship to store separately. I get the feeling now that ship to store more or less simply means that the employees are expected reserve any stock they have when they get it and aren't directly shipped for fullfillment.
