Yeah i didnt even bother contacting them. I assume this was going to be the response they were going to give anyway. Even though for the last few days they had Pit and Falcon up for grabs for anyone and not just the people who first got their orders cancelled a week ago fuck

 
I don't know about reply count but this is the most I have watched a thread, and the most going around to different stores since the 5 dollar/ Clearance Circuit City threads back in '04. I've lost my interest in reading every post, and I finally got all wave 2, but I still wind up checking it once or twice a day for photos of custom displays,  cool finds, and new info...and Rosalina coming up for pre-order.

On that note has there even been once appearance of Pit at Target? Did they discontinue it without stocking it? I have seen no post of it, nor has it appeared even once on the stock tracker.

Just wait till Wave 3 comes out and Wave 4 goes up for pre-order.

 
Is GameStop still taking preorders in store for shulk? I know the website stopped taking pre orders.

Already have a pre order online (for pick up at store), but I would feel more assured if I had an extra in store order.

I went to a few GameStop stores recently and they all told me the pre-orders were completely gone. I guess you could always call and ask your stores though.

store is a no go. they stopped taking instore before it was unavailable online. your best bet is getting one when it comes back in stock online for a little bit around release.

Do you know how much the import duties and taxes are normally? Would be interested in this if it doesn't skyrocket the overall price.

As a side note, I think the Smash logo in Japanese looks awesome.

Don' tknow but most of these people declare a value of $1 or mark it as a gift to avoid paying for it so what they're charging on ebay is the final price your paying

I called them and they gave me a $20 off code. Just bought my Fox and Link with the code.

I don't know about these amiibos.


On one hand, having them is nice as they are basically desk toys with a bonus second use as DLC unlockables.

On the other, the archetypical Nintendo-brand "artificial shortage" rears it's ugly, ugly head once more.


I played Nintendo's game with Pokemon back in the day and I still have a headache from that. I tuned out for the entire Wii generation because of how they went about the Wii launch. Them bringing out the old guns from the Amiibos just makes me uneasy.

Is there any reason why meta Knight sells for more on eBay? You'd think it would be shulk considering they're not going to have any avaliable at retail
 
If you're buying from outside the US the 3 amiibos can be found for under $65 total on Amazon .de or .fr

Paying more is foolish unless you want a US set.
 
I know, but I just put in a pre-order for all of wave 3 (non exclusives) last night ahaha. My wallet is telling me no :(

Also for import tax, it all depends on how the shipper manages it. I know for US shippers, as long as you put the item value under $20, the receiver will not be billed an import tax. Well, if you're shipping to Canada I guess.

Sorry if this has been overstated.  Im only a part time collector of the amiibo and only the characters I like.  With that said, I do want a Rosalina.  I read that the release date in February and obviously its Target only but is there a specific date yet?  Im going to be at the store right when they open in hopes of grabbing one.  Thanks all!

We're assuming February 1st, but to be honest, no one knows. That's been a placeholder date, since all Nintendo saod for wave 3 was February. With the wave 2 fiasco, let's hope they stick to an actaul release date for wave 3.
 
I was at TRU today, the largest one near me and the one with the largest displays for amiibos, and noticed some kid with his dad (or maybe grandpa) with a printed out paper showing all the amiibos (I think it was from IGN, pretty sure it was this page). He picked out Mario, Pikachu, Peach, Kirby, Link, Yoshi, Samus, Zelda and Luigi (all the ones that particular TRU had, basically the common ones) and crossed them off his list. He responded with something along the lines of "wow, already have like half of them, this is gonna be easy".

Poor kid... doesn't know what he's gotten himself into. :wall:

I'd predict Ike but also feel like that's the one everybody is expecting (especially after Marth)... so that's the one being preordered the most and will likely get a larger run once Nintendo sees the initial preorder numbers.

I would generally agree with this, but DeDeDe is compatible with the upcoming Kirby & the Rainbow Curse game. So I'm thinking Nintendo might make a lot of him. Plus I don't think he will be super popular which might also help.

Ike for sure tho. I almost want to also say Sheik, but I dunno.

Edit: That said, Bowser for most common for sure. Mega Man and Sonic could go either way. I almost feel like Sonic will probably be common because Nintendo and Sega have such a good relationship right now, and it's almost certain whatever next Sonic game is coming will add amiibo compatibility with the Sonic amiibo (not to mention the Mario & Sonic @ the Olympics games, whenever they do another one of those). Mega Man tho, that's a tough one. He is bound to be super popular, but he's 3rd party and Capcom seems to be kind of anti-Mega Man ever since Inafune left.

Only good retailer for exclusives is gs. I just walked a few weeks ago I could pre order all the ones I wanted. I still can't fidna pit if anyone want a cpt falcon
 
I hope wave 3 goes well. Gotta assume there will be tons of people who are gonna have problems tho. Ive got everything covered except Rosalina which I hope to get lucky on.

At this point, what Id really like is some Wave 4 info. Even if its just a few of the characters that will be in it. Im personally hoping for Rob, Mr G&W and Duck Hunt Dog!

You make a good point, but I'm not sure about Sheik. I think there will be plenty to go around. I'm curious to see how plentiful Ike is as well.
