Well, I just came home from work at Target and we never received any Pit Amiibos. Went ahead and looked him up on the PDA. Guess what? He's freakin discontinued now. Damn. I really thought we would get some in.

If this is indeed true, I'm getting my butt down there and taking part in that deal. I'm currently working away at some console/pc gaming right now, so I don't mind missing my DS for a bit, whilst pre-ordering a new3DS.

I'm thinking $200/250 so they can drop the vanilla XL to like $170. I don't think they would drop it all the way to $150 or try and sell it at the same price as the N3DS and it's due for a price drop.

I kind of want to trade my XL in to get the New 3DS non XL (maybe that will be the reveal - the damn thing will have a new name for NA) just because of the removable covers. I think that is really dumb on my behalf.

That's what I'm doing. I want the covers and colored buttons (as silly as those two things are) but I like the bigger screen size that's closer to the XL so it's kind of an in between.

Ugh, that's another reason to buy Amiibos. This thing better get more than five games...

I watched a video to see a comparison between the XL and the New 3DS and I didn't realize that the screens were pretty close to the same size so I would feel a little better getting it. My problem with the new system is that I don't really want Xenoblade and I didn't like Smash on the 3DS so I'm not seeing much for me to get too excited about right now for the new system.

I rephrased that to closer since it's not like it's bumping right up on it but it's picked up almost half an inch and is still an inch smaller than the XL.

I sure hope this isn't Target exclusive though:

You know that's unlikely, right? They basically split the series into the M&L line which is the RPG heavier side and the Paper Mario line which is more action oriented.

Gees Nintendo after looking at theses comparison videos between new XL and old XL,it's actually more beneficial to downgrade back to the new 3ds then buy the new XL. Oh well guess I can just keep my old one. What are others thinking?

From what I recall the battery is better on both. I think the N3DS is supposed to be about the same as the current XL and the NXL is supposed to be about an hour longer. The battery on both is also removable if you were in a situation where you need a second battery regularly.

If we don't I'm pretty sure folks will riot and it seems like they're finally catching on that we actually want this stuff. Do we even know when the game comes out in JP yet? If it's the spring we wouldn't get it until at least the fall but probably would be at least a year after the JP release. I'm sure they would do something then since it would be the only game specific to it and would motivate a number of people to switch.

i think the main differences are the ability to change faceplates and bigger screen, I personally would not sacrifice a smaller Bigger screen in order to swap out faceplates, im sure lots of people agree. I'm pretty sure NEW XL outsold NEW 3DS in japan too

Yeah, it was a bout 3:1 at launch in Japan. About a month ago it was closer to 2:1 on a weekly basis.

That actually surprises me a little bit since they're so about taking their handhelds everywhere and while commuting and stuff while most people here never take it out of the house.

I'm in for a N3DSXL because I prefer the bigger screen, want the new buttons and stick and amiibo functionality.
The custom cases are nice but not nice enough for me to go back to a smaller screen.
I don't care much what it looks like either since they'll release 50 cooler models as exclusive bundles anyway.
Glad this is finally headed to NA though.

Technically it's not yet. Watch them officially announce it for EU and Brazil and not say a word about it for NA.
