Not sure how the discussion resolves out, but it looks like Amazon confirms Mario is indeed exclusive to the bundle. Scary.

 
Was going to wait for Mario to show up to order everything but since he may or may not be exclusive to the bundle I'm just going to get an order in now as a placeholder till Best Buy gets it up. Also ordered MP10 for the same reason. I'm guessing I missed getting it at Best Buy though since I thought I saw it was available already.

 
I ordered a Toad but I don't know if I'll keep him. I told myself that I'd do all Smash and unless something came around that had to be bought for some cool unlock I'd do it. The Amiibo feature in Captain Toad doesn't seem special but I do think the figure looks cool so I'm torn. Feel a lot better with GCU discount on him.

Sweet, pre-ordered all 5. Thanks guys, today was a good day as an Amiibro. Only Wave 3 figure I still have to worry about is Metaknight

Pre-ordered the whole Super Mario line after Bowser and Yoshi went live, but I'm still hoping Best Buy gets pre-orders so I can get that GCU discount. But it's nice insurance, especially since Amazon doesn't charge until they ship. 

I'm also hoping Best Buy gets the MPX bundle, but that one's got me a little scared.

No, the page was up and down tho so it looks like theyre probably getting hit hard lol. Keep refreshing and theyll eventually show in stock.

Ha, Amazon finally updated my Bowser preorder to say March 2nd. Which is a fancy way of saying they need to fix the release date on his page, which currently lists Feb 28th (in other words, March 2nd is the first business day after that).

Wish they'd update Sheik and Toon Link so I know if I should be hunting for them...
 
Yeah it looks like their pages are just getting overloaded, theyre all still in stock for now. I went ahead and preordered 1 of each just in case but pretty sure I am just getting Toad. Must fight off this ocd...

 
Got in pre-orders on all of MP10 except Peach/Bowser as they're not available anymore it seems.  Little late on reading that they were up I guess.

 
Is it pretty much a certainty that Meta Knight and Shulk are gonna be impossible to get without a preorder?  I've got my Amazon cart ready for the Japanese versions, but I've got this feeling that they all may be available in the wild (except Shulk).

i think toad unlocks a mario party 10 board, and you can't get him with the other smash characters so toad seems like a definite buy.

 
Amazon "Thank you, your order has been placed." for Toad !!! Yes !! this is the only guy I need to collect .. I don't need other red base :) .. By the way .. what is the different feature for the red base? just the base right? the work is still the same as other black base amiibo?

Will Toad become "hard to find" -> "Rare" in later?

Maybe? I feel like they might reprint at least Meta Knight though since he is usable in Kirby & the Rainbow Curse. My guess is that Nintendo only has an exclusive deal w/ Best Buy up to a certain point and then he can be sold anywhere (esp. since it's like that everywhere else in the world).

Shulk who knows - GameStop probably ordered a lot of him, but they are usually super stingy about you having to pre-order the stuff. But maybe he'll be usable somehow in Xenoblade Chronicles X, in which case I suspect Nintendo will re-print him (I honestly think this is what they're going to do going forward, like they promised for Marth to coincide with his use in Codename: STEAM - reprint rare amiibos that have upcoming usage in games)

Edit: Either way, I think if you are there at opening on the day they get them in you at least got a shot. There are sure to at least be a handful at each store. The key is just to beat the scalpers :p I suspect Gamestop would be good about that, but who knows if Best Buy will.
