Stopped in at a Best Buy this evening, picked up a Bowser.  Went to the TRU in the same shopping center.  There was a couple perusing the amiibo section, then the guy went up to the counter to pick up his preorder - 16 Lucarios.  I walked up as he and the cashier were talking (they obviously knew each other, perhaps he was also an employee).  I asked, "You're not buying all of them, are you?"  "Yeah, I have them preordered.  But I'm not one of 'those guys,' if you want one I'll sell it to you for what I paid."  Took him up on the offer, then asked, "So these for eBay or CraigsList?"  He said he wasn't looking to sell them right away, but put them away for a while.  Haven't been following this thread, no idea if this has been a common story.

That's really sad! That's the reason why they can't find your pre order or they don't have lucario in stock. Employees get 1st hand, pick out the perfect figure and left over For guests. That team member is smart, he let you buy one, you happy and he going home happy. Otherwise, you may create chaos, and he may lost his job For buying that many lucario, and guests go home empty hand.
 
Toad sold out quick, jeesh. But I still agree with others, I doubt the SMB wave will be as rare as the others. (Toad will probably just be uncommon or something). Every single one of these characters is super common in the Smash series

From the super mario bro's amiibo only toad will be uncommon perhaps even hard to find at times.

From wave 4 smash amiibo Ness will most likely be rare as he is a obscure character from Earthbond but it's hard to predict these things before they happen.

Meant from the SMB wave (Separate from 4). But yeah, I'm sure Ness would be rare (Along with the FE reps again). Which is why I have been hovering this thread 24/7 so I can get in early pre-orders.

Already have all of the SMB's + Mario Party bundle at Amazon so I'm not really worried on them. But I would prefer to pre-order at Gamestop if possible

Gamestop Bestbuy Toysrus would be the main retailers I would use for Wave 4, my brother pre-ordered toad from amazon as it is the only Amiibo from that series that isn't from smash.

 
I have a hard time believing anything except maybe Charizard from Wave 4 will have a steady supply unless Nintendo is going to consider making changes. I have my doubts for Charizard too though. I don't even think anything else from the remaining 3rd wave will available much in stores if at all. I haven't seen many Bowsers in the wild recently. How often are stores getting shipments?

 
GAME.co.uk has Wario and Charizard available for pre-order, but the other wave 4 just have pages without the option of pre-ordering. Perhaps those 2 will be the first ones to hit stores?

I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread that there was a Target memo going around that claimed Target would only carry the latter half of wave 3 online, and that if a customer comes asking, the employee is instructed to tell them that.

I have a Toon Link coming from gohastings...  Ordered it a couple days ago...  Hoping they come through but it hasn't shipped yet...  Can't cancel it easy to get it from target or toys r us either...

Are the going to sell the new Mario separately? I am collecting the Amiibos (and I have Super Smash Brothers) but I have never really been into the Mario Party games. I really don't want to have to spend 51 dollars (cost after GCU) to get just Mario.

 
Does anyone think that the Gold and Silver Marios would be tied to Platinum/Gold rewards as a final thank you reward? They said the close out to attain the CN status is MAR 31st and rewards would be available by April 30th I believe? Going by the dates, it seems like it is just after the release of Mario Party 10, but maybe will coincide with the possible release of the single packed Mario that seems to be a timed exclusive with just the MP10 bundle? Please don't take this as nothing more than a wild rumor in my part but it would make sense and a good way to end CN to all of us loyal fans.

 
So my Sonic I ordered from Amazom a couple weeks ago had an estimated delivery of March 2, updated the shipping yesterday to 1 day and it shipped last night with a delivery of this Friday.

It sounds great and many of us had the long shot hope that there would be a Nintendo Club exclusive Amiibo.

However, the packaging is for gold and silver, not for gold and platinum. Also, as of right now there is no Club Nintendo logo on the box.

 
It's definitely not going to be a CN release.

If it were, they'd be hyping it so we all buy tons of games to get the coins.

That and CN web server would surely implode.

It'd be nice, but I don't see it happening.

Now, there's always whatever program replaces CN...
 
Maybe they are going to use the new Mario's as a way to announce whatever the new rewards program will be. Who the hell knows, maybe they are just variants that have no special meaning at all.
