People seem to swear by these games.

Do you know if either of Cory Trese's Android games have controller support? I've bought and refunded 10 games in the past week after trying them out. Didn't want to do anymore games just to test them because I didn't want Google to suspend or ban my account. But an answer would be much appreciated if you know.

I spent much of the morning playing games on my Shield TV. Damn thing is astounding, but I never have much time to play it. Vostok Inc is a really great game. The combination of twin stick shooter and simulation/idle game was a genius move on the developer's part. I couldn't stop playing, and it didn't stop playing itself when I left the room. I'm also hooked on Sir Questionnaire which is a single screen turn-based role playing game by Orangepixel, the makers of Space Grunts, my favorite Android game of all time. Not on sale but $2.49 is the regular price for it:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Space Grunts is my favorite mobile game of all time. It's a turn-based roguelike RPG. Buy it now!

Meganoid 2017 is also fun. It's a roguelike platformer. I would also recommend MicRogue Gold and Monster Loves You.

Yeah, I did want one years ago when it was released, but I probably wouldn't get much use from it now. I have the Shield Portable still, and while it doesn't play all the games the TV does, I'm still pissed they never offered a Shield 2 Portable. I'm pretty sure the NS took the place of that, and is yet another reason for me to steer clear of them still.

I can't really fault them for getting in bed with "N", as their own devices are pretty niche, and not really HUGE sellers at retail. Now they can move their mobile chip sets to a much larger user base than any of the Shield products probably ever could. I still would have loved another portable, as the first was pretty cool, especially for the price at the time.

I have a 2015 Shield TV and it's still running strong. I spend a lot of time playing indie games on it, so it's worth it to me. I have the 500 gb one that has plenty of space, but the 16 gb should be fine for streamers. You can hook up a flash drive or an external hard drive to it if you need more room. Plus it does 4K for those who like that.

I won't reference the excitement seeing of emus in 4K. And by that I mean giant birds.

Yeah, Tabletop Racing appears to have been a one day offer. Google Play is funny in that sales and freebies just happen randomly for whatever duration of time the publisher wants. Point is, if a normally paid app turns out to be free, I just grab it and delete it if it sucks.

On another note, I'm starting to accept the fact that I won't be able to pay for the Android port of Fortnite Mobile with Google Play credit. Probably through touch. When I tested it this morning, there were on screen buttons - one to jump and one to call the blob if he lagged behind. I didn't see an onscreen control pad, so I think you can just touch the screen in the direction that you want the boy to move.

On a related note, my mouse didn't work on the game on Shield, so I couldn't quit the game. I just touched the Shield controller button in the center to quit to the front end screen, but the game was still running in the background.

Despite these issues, I would still recommend that Android users buy this game for less than a buck because it's a great game with a lot of charm. And A Boy and His Blob for 99 cents would sell like hot cakes on PSN or Xbox Live if it were offered. But this is why I love Android.

It's one of those Artifex Mundi hidden object adventure games. I've played a ton of Artifex Mundi games on my Fire tablet (including this one) and also a few of the console ports of their games, and I'd say they're probably the best publisher/developer in that genre from my experience if you're into those types of games (of the point and click adventure + standard puzzles + hidden object puzzles variety).

Agreed, Artifex Mundi HOGs are the only ones I'll play. Their stories and puzzles are both very good. Some of these series are much better than others. The Secret Order games mix fantasy and detective noir together and are very good, but this is the stinker out of the three. It's a lot of point-and-click and has very little story continuation from the previous two.

And yes, you can get a lot of Artifex Mundi games for either very cheap or free on Amazon.

For anyone who owns the Google Play version of The Pinball Arcade on Android, the Gottlieb Table Pack is on sale for $4.99. The pack includes Genie, Haunted House, Victory, Big Hurt, Lights Camera Action, and Gladiators. It can only be bought as an in app purchase. I haven't seen this deal on any other platform.

The Doctor Who: Master of Time table is $4.99 on sale, and the Doctor Who set of custom balls is 99 cents. I can't seem to find the expiration date on these prices, so I wouldn't wait if you are interested in owning these tables.

I would also like to point out that I discovered these by accident. If I had a life or friends or was popular with the ladies, you guys might have missed out on this deal.

Was eyeballing DariusBurst. Just so many games right now, and so little time :|

I love shmups on console, and on PC. I find it kinda frustrating to play on my phone though, at times. Anyone played DariusBurst on their phones (no controller)? If so, how is it?

Just a note: Rayforce is actually Galactic Attack on the Sega Saturn. It was also called Layer Section and Gunlock in other territories, just in case you needed the extra confusion. Look, all you need to know is that it's the 2D game in the series... the rest are polygonal.

I bought Darius Burst, because at two dollars, it was rather hard not to. So it's not Android TV compatible? Wasted opportunity there. Also considering Bust-a-Move, but that series tends to be wildly variant in quality and this might be one of the duds.

Edit: Darius plays well enough on a tablet... you swipe around the screen and the ship snaps to your finger. Instant dodging might make the game a little too easy, though. I hope that helps... if it does, say so! I answer questions and get no acknowledgement from the people who asked... makes me feel like I'm talking to a wall.

I feel the same way sometimes after posting these walls of text...ahem...sales. But, he's probably busy doing whatever people do outside of CAG, and it's a work day. I'm sure he'll respond.

As far as the Android TV incompatibility for Darius, yes, it's true that it won't work on Shield TV. A weird white screen with a hashtag symbol pops up, and the game won't load past that screen. I believe that Android TV compatibility requires specific features to be included in the game, and some developers won't take the time to include all those features. Japanese devs are notorious for this. Case in point, Soul Calibur not being updated to work with newer Android OS versions, but still loading on older versions without having to do the license check. But, Darius works well on my Galaxy Tab 2 as well which means it's low end tablet friendly, and it's Moga controller compatible for anyone who has one of those.

Please let us know if Bust A Move has controller support.

I do appreciate the input, folks, Thanks! I have a feeling it probably wouldn't keep my interest on the phone for long. I've played a few in the past that I'd last maybe a month on before moving on to something else. I'll add it to my wishlist to keep it in mind in the future.

I don't think that Darius is going to go any lower than $1.99, so keep that in mind if you decide to pass on it. It will definitely go on sale again, maybe during the holidays, but the company seems to think that its older franchises are worthy of a premium price. I've never seen any of its games hit 99 cents before and they probably never will.

So I tried Evertale and Pocket RPG - I didn't like Evertale as much, so I uninstalled that one. But so far I like Pocket RPG enough
