The old thread hadn't been updated in quite some time, so I decided to make a new one. If you happen to see a sale not listed in the OP, go ahead and post it and I will be sure it's added. The same goes for anything listed that has expired as most sales have no set time frame, let me know and I will remove expired sales. Thanks!

Probably not the right place to post this but...

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is on sale for $4.99 at the Amazon Appstore if you haven't used up all your Amazon Coins yet!
Totally the right place to post it. If I didn't already have it, and had enough coins I would be all over this. As it is I had to use convoluted work arounds to get it installed on my "noncompatible" galaxy note tablet that it totally runs great on.

Edit: also meant to give a thanks to code trader for the Amazon freebie heads up. Stupid lack of multi quote on mobile.

Edit 2: Sunnuva, I just bought Foldersync on Google Play 2 weeks ago. I do strongly recommend it if you want to keep files synced locally and with any of almost a dozen cloud accounts.

Nice. Kingdom Rush Origins is in there. Hate the in-app purchases to unlock different heroes, but it's still a fun TD game.

Edit: Also KRO came with a $1 MP3 credit. Nice bonus.
Bah, wish they would cut it out with this Kindle Fire only stuff!

Grabbed it anyway just in case I get a Kindle Fire.

Hmmm...that is odd that it's only for Kindle. Well, maybe they'll update it later so it can be played on other devices. I know other apps have done that.

Has the original Kingdom Rush ever been free on Amazon?

I'm going to try out those other two Kingdom Rush games. I've heard good things about them.

I was so glad to get Costume Quest. Unfortunately I can't get it to work for my Acer Iconia A200 or my Kindle Fire HD 7" (2012). It does however work with my Fire HD 7 (2014). I was hoping it would work on all of my devices. I loved Costume Quest on my Xbox 360.

I think I've mentioned this before. You all should definitely try out The Silent Age. Pretty good game. The first episode is free.

how did you get Costume Quest. for your kindle

thought the kindle only allowed you to download games from amazon. Unless someone broke the code, the last time i heard the new kindles can not be hacked to allow outside downloads
Yeah, I got it from the Humble Bundle.

I just went to https://humblebundle.com/getapp on the browser for my Fire HD 7 and downloaded the Humble Bundle app. There are 4 apks for Costume Quest. You choose the one that matches the GPU for your device.

https://www.humblebundle.com/app

https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/articles/204372938

I picked the AVR .apk since the Fire HD 7 (2014) uses PowerVR. That worked. It plays fine.

https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/devices/fire-tablets/specifications/01-device-and-feature-specifications

I tried all the versions for my Acer A200 and the Kindle Fire HD 7" (2012) and none them work. The app would just close as soon as I opened it.

Amazon ‘Unlocked’ Will Give Away Paid Apps For Free
http://techcrunch.com/2015/03/20/amazon-unlocked/
Interesting but so many games take forever to get on Amazon and many never make it at all. Frankly if it weren't for their free apps of the day and coin offers, I'd never shop there. Far less selection that Google Play. Just take a look at their best sellers and half of them are either find the object or jigsaw puzzles.

The cost of having an "unlocked" subscription would have to be very low for me to consider it.

You're thinking like a general Android use, for Kindle users it's a whole different story (and far less *&#$ this should support my <mainstream flagship>)

I'm mostly interested to see what games support the free in app purchase stuff.

There are a number of games I have tried that aren't terrible games but are completely ruined by stuff being locked behind IAP that if you could just freely buy those and then watch an ad that the games might be fun. but we will have to see how that ends up.

Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery has been marked down from $4.99 to $1.99 (60% off) on Google Play.

XCom isn't compatible with my Shield Tablet? :wall:
Geez you're right. Not that I have enough space on my Shield to house a game that big anyway.

edit: Is Civilization Revolution 2 really only 453mb, or is there a huge download to install in addition?

If you head over to the Shield forums on Nvidia's site, I'm pretty sure it actually does work with it. Just has to be side loaded. Think there was a thread or two on the Shield Tablet forum about it. Don't understand whu 2K hasn't changed the compatibility if it really works.

South Park: Pinball has been marked down from $3.99 to $1.99 (50% off) on Google Play.

The list (Only compatible with Kindle in orange):
The Game of Life
Monopoly
The Sims 3
Tetris
Bejeweled 2
Scrabble
NBA Jam
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Dead Space
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Real Racing 2
Urgh. That Kindle only stiff drives me nuts. Would have picked up Dead Space in a heartbeat.

Here's hoping that it's a general EA sale that will also be on Google Play and iTunes.

I have a slew of EA games that just don't work (including Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Mass Effect Infiltrator). I don't quite understand how they don't update those games but choose to update NBA Jam (which I also have, and am not complaining). I guess I'm just leery of EA games for Android.

Xcom enemy within claims not to be compatible with my tablet. Wonder how true that is.

Grabbed South Park with coins.

In the description it says "This version of XCOM: Enemy Within is supported on Kindle Fire HDX only."

It also says "Added support for FireTV" in the updates.

http://www.amazon.com/XCOM%C2%AE-Enemy-Within-Fire-Edition/dp/B00PDCP5PA/
I am referring to the play store version. Some stuff claims not to be supported because officially my tablet doesn't run kit kat unless you root it and have an unofficial rom. Others just claim it because developers are lazy and stupid. I could check other device compatibility but it is a pain tracking down specs for my tablet then finding the equivalent tablet or phone.

Edit: Purchasing online, sideloading data generally works in such cases, the question is is it worth the hassle. By the time I jump through all those hoops I might as well use more dubious means just to ensure it works to make sure I am not out funds if it doesn't.

Looks like they all still have in app purchases.
Sadly, I think all the "premium" versions of these games basically all just remove the ads. Think every other freemium element stays the same as the free versions. Haven't played them to see how much the IAPs are required.
