The old thread hadn't been updated in quite some time, so I decided to make a new one. If you happen to see a sale not listed in the OP, go ahead and post it and I will be sure it's added. The same goes for anything listed that has expired as most sales have no set time frame, let me know and I will remove expired sales. Thanks!

Possibly the wrong place, but can anyone recommend a 10" tablet with a full HD (1080p) display that won't break the bank? I'm looking at the Lenovo Tab A 10 or the memo 10 Fhd.

Thanks.

I have a Tab A 10 and like it.  There's not a ton to say about it; it's a tablet and does tablet stuff but it happens to do it pretty cheaply.  Most of my tablet usage is media consumption so I can't speak for how well it handles fast paced or action style games.  Biggest issue (which ain't that big) is that the face is a plastic material rather than glass so it tends to get streaky.  Not something I notice much while using it but very apparent when it's off.

Thanks! The Toca Boca games are great for kids. Another freebie for my Google Play collection.

Looks like Toca Life: School is free on Amazon.

Amazon has a bunch of free ones on Underground as well.

Oh and of course Toca Kitchen and Toca Kitchen 2 are still free on Google Play as always.

The My Town game are pretty similar as well.

Sale on some Shield games

Chariot
Juju

There were presumably others but honestly I just got pissed off by having to pay tax on Juju so I forgot.

Anyone know why the $.10 weekly deals that show up in App-Sales are never in the US? Would have liked to try this week's game, Exploding Kittens, but it is full price on Google Play in the US.

Might be a European-based website. Maybe their prices convert to being 10 cents in U.S. dollars. We also get screwed on PSN sales too versus those overseas, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it is.

Figured that was probably the case but strange that these specifically labeled "weekly deals" are the only ones that aren't correct on that site / app. Guess maybe the European Google Play store does a special weekly promo.

Sucks because there have been some good ones!

Not sure if this was already mentioned, but it looks like Amazon is discontinuing the Amazon Underground appstore.

https://developer.amazon.com/blogs/appstore/post/cbadeae1-990d-4d52-bef5-ea61f6114b94/announcement-amazon-actually-free-program
I saw that. I've never used it, but apparently it has been a good source of Android games for some posters on this thread. What would make me happy is if Shovel Knight would hurry up and come to Google Play since it's still Amazon exclusive at the moment.

I use Amazon Underground -- especially for normally F2P games that I'd never play due to all the IAPs. Glad they are letting us play existing Underground games until 2019.

And, hopefully, that means going back to the big packages of freebies they used to run every few months.

Speaking of Underground, they added two well regarded RPGs - Siralim and Siralim 2.

good. It was a privacy violation scam and I refused to use a single underground app
I know everyone complained about the fact that it monitored your usage, but that was sort of a necessity because of its pay model. It watched what you were playing so it could pay developers for the minutes you played it, the same way Spotify records everything you listen to and how many times you listen to it so they can pay artists for song plays.

It's way more than just usage tracking. They were trying to get more info than Google and Facebook.

On Spotify, you at least have the option to disable permissions like contacts. You cannot for Amazon Underground.

It's way more than just usage tracking. They were trying to get more info than Google and Facebook.
Well, some of those permissions you listed can be invasive or seem invasive, but they're really needed to just carry out extraneous functions. Like amazon has stated that the "contacts" permission is only used for sending gift cards through the app. And the camera function is for scanning barcodes. And the microphone function is for voice search. And a lot of the other ones are for managing apps and probably DRM.

I'm not saying they can't be (or even aren't being) misused for data mining, but a lot are also required for the (completely unnecessary, for the most part) functionality Amazon built into the app. Oh well. I only use Underground on my Fire Tablet, anyway, and it comes preinstalled.

If you don't think there's data mining in just about everything on the Internet -- including mobile games on the regular iOS and Google Play stores, then you're sadly mistaken. I've given up on worrying about it. If it's used for business purposes and I see an ad more geared towards me, oh well.

Hackers are going to get you in all those places as well.

That's the Amazon Underground App, not the Amazon app though. Why would you need all those information on top of the Amazon app? There's a reason they left the Play store in the first place.

I still remember Amazon disabling some select apps and only allowing me to download them again as Underground apps.  It was total bullshit that I'd go to set up a new tablet for my kid and see that Toca Cars was "incompatible" to download for every device but I could install the Underground version.  Customer Service told me it was no big deal because the Underground version was free and didn't see the problem in forcing me into using the app tracking version.  After that, I went exclusively to Google Play.  I'd start sideloading apk's before using Amazon's shady app services again.

Yep, that was similar to me. I stopped using Amazon App Store completely when they made it unusable and pushed Underground. I now buy stuff only off the Play store too.

That's actually a really good point. I've had some apps I bought that were later completely replaced with Underground versions, too. I hope that when they shut down, they replace the underground versions with the standard versions and restore our licenses.

I noticed that in the Amazon app the my apps section used to be under the underground section . now I can't find the my apps section at all. Where is it? I use the my apps section to check for updates to mobi office and a few other apps (no underground apps).

How do I manage my apps now? That section seems to be missing?

what version of the Amazon app do you guys use? The underground version that came with my phone used to have a your apps section in the I initial left menu under underground.

I just downloaded the regular Amazon app from the Google play store and it says this app doesn't have app functionality and directs me to the underground app I already have.

I am basically looking for the old app menu section which lists all the app you own (not underground) which you can open or dl from and when u swipe left shows you the apps installed through Amazon.

Is there anything still like that in either app and where?

version 10.6.0.200

build 12.0.155.0

if you click on the amazon app store under amazon video, go to the bottom and click on appstore settings, there you can add a appstore shortcut icon to your home screen

Sorry for the off-topic, but does anyone use an LG G Pad X 8.0? Decent tablet for games?
I have the LG Gpad 7...it's alright? Has issues with fullscreen games, more often than not. Can't speak to the 8.0, though. Personally, I'm done with LG, after the crapstorm that is my LG G4 and its bootloop issues.

I have a ZTE Trek2 (k88) that I got for $55 new from eBay. It's fast and has enough ram. The only issue was the touch screen, but a software update seems to have fixed it. It's a nice little device.

Anyone here use iPEGA controllers? I really like the telescoping models (poor man's Nintendo Switch), but I can't find a pg-9055 with a working battery. I bought two so far from different vendors but both have totally dead/non-chargeable batteries.

Probably targeted, but I had an ad on the Apps page of Google Play for a free $1 in credit. Might be worth logging in to check.

Still find it incredibly annoying that the US store doesn't do these weekly deals that apparently are occurring in Europe. Right now on App Sales, it shows Dungeon Rushers for $.10 but not in the US. :(

Have their been any good Shield TV exclusives released lately? Haven't heard of anything (and don't do the subscription thing).

Not lately on the Shield TV exclusives. As much as I hate to say it, the thing hasn't caught on even though they relaunched it recently with a new controller. Other than streaming and GeoForce, most people bought it because it's the best Android emulation box on the market. But, to make up for the lack of big games, I've been downloading any and every free game that says that it's compatible. For instance, Knights of Pen and Paper 2 is free right now and says it's Shield TV compatible:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paradoxplaza.kopp2

Hopefully, we'll hear something at E3. But most of the exclusives are overpriced ports (see Tomb Raider, Super Mega Baseball, and the Borderlands games as examples). Those games are often cheaper on Steam and consoles, so Shield TV owners don't buy the ports, and then developers don't make them or make them Android TV compatible. It's a sad cycle.
