 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Ugh. Not only is it Aniplex, but it's also sub only. I'm thinking I may end up passing on those. Or just wait for a UK release from Manga haha.

Thanks for all the tips. Been to ACEN for many years and have scored some decent deals. Since now everyone has a smart phone makes it abit easier for price checks and better deals on Amazon. Hope to score some good deals if not always can try haggling on Sunday for a lower price.
Everyone but me! ;) Well I have a wifi only smartphone...I really need to find a cheap data plan.

Went to ACEN today... Not that many deals for anime blurays... Only thing that was a steal was the media blasters booth for me because they had bludgeon angel dokurachan for $20... Its sold out on rightstuf now after black friday and its expensive on amazon

Sentai announces Sentai Selects.

First release will be Appleseed with double side covers

HOUSTON, May 18, 2015 – Sentai Filmworks is proud to introduce an exciting new line of products that provides fans with essential programming with a budget conscience experience.

Sentai Selects™ will showcase anime that have withstood the test of time to remain popular and memorable works of their genre. A wide variety of titles have been included in the line to assure that something fresh and different is available for every release, while also being curated specifically to give fans an opportunity to discover new experiences without breaking the bank. This new line of titles will offer reversible cover artwork and other features where applicable.

“The Sentai Selects line was created for those who have recently become interested in anime and wish to expand their libraries with classic shows, as well as those who may have missed their chance to own these titles during their first run”, said David Del Rio, Vice President of Sentai Filmworks. “Our hope is to provide an ideal situation where both new and old fans alike can enjoy these must own anime at an affordable entry price.”

The debut release will be the sci-fi action movie Appleseed and will include enhanced Blu-ray audio and double-sided cover artwork.

Darker than Black Premium came in today... not quite what I expected but I'm not upset.

Just for reference it's about the size as NIS premiums but thin like a hardcover children's book.

I read the name and the first sentence and thought "Oh no, they're experimenting with Manufacture on Demand." Then I read the rest and figured out that it's just their own bargain line (like SAVE).
Given that this will have new stuff and is from the former ADV, I'd say it's the revamped version of the Essential Anime Collection line.

Yup... got my DtB Blu Set today too. It came with a stand for display purposes and the artbook is great. I just hate anything that encases my discs into a slit within some thin cardboard. Two of discs were already loose when I opened it but were fine. I'll probably grab a Blu Ray case for it sometime.

Now that this is up for release, the odds of this getting a dub are next to none, right?

If the P4G release was an import like the movies I could see them doing a dub later for the US release. I don't really see them dubbing it since this is the localized release.

I rather have the Person 3 Movies be dubbed first than the dribble that was Persona 4 Golden the Animation.
I really want to see those dubbed, too. I think those only got import release, yeah? So we should still have a shot at them getting dubbed. I'm surprised to see so much negativity surrounding the Golden animation. The original P4 series was quite well received, wasn't it?

Haven't watched it,but it just comes off as a pointless cash-in.

Import Release. But dubbed versions are likely, due to the popularity of Persona. I reckon it wont be announced until a year after the film series is released in Japan.

P4GA couldve been good, it was practically a New Game+. But then they tried to shoehorn Marie into every goddam important scene, even at the events where she wasnt there for. She even took the spotlight from some characters when it was their time to shine. I like Marie and all but when placing an overemphasis on one character, it's jut not going to sit well. Also, there was some questionable quality choices like the last series.

This image can sum it up.

If done well it would make the show even better, considering the satire it is.

Was waiting for them to release the blu-ray of Snafu, could finally pick it up. Also surprised Aniplex is letting them release Persona 4 again.

$84........ gah. Seems like Part 1 of the original dub only release is going for $40+ with part 2 for around $20. Guess I should sell my old ones now.
I expect the prices of both volumes to plummet. The price isn't too bad with discount whenever the next studio sale pops up. Its possible it will drop even more down the line like Chu2 did also.

I hate it, Funi and this stupid oversized packaging is annoying. First it was Bebop and now this. Just give me something like Psycho Pass. Some stuff housed in a nice slipbox. Sadly though this is the only way to get Season 1 on blu ray right now. Worst part is that we keep buying it and it just sends the message that it is ok. And the Soul Eater PE that is coming out looks to be just as bad. It appears to be a digibook style but can't tell the size of it.
