 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Hunter X Hunter set 2 is cheap everywhere right now. I expect prices to go up in the future, and on future volumes.

$24.99 at Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hunter-x-hunter-set-2-blu-ray/5708041.p?skuId=5708041

$22.49 at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Hunter-x-Hunter-Set-2-Blu-ray/dp/B01NCOKMUI?SubscriptionId=AKIAIY4YSQJMFDJATNBA&tag=bluray-033-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B01NCOKMUI&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

$26.98 at Rightstuf (prob cheaper with Got Anime): http://www.rightstufanime.com/Hunter-X-Hunter-Set-2-Blu-ray

My Got Anime sub just expired last month and I don't know if I'm going to renew it. Def not until I buy something from RS.
So no continuing the BB exclusive steelbook I guess. Glad I didn't that first one then.

yeah I was noticing that. a little sad as I did go in on the first one. I had expected it to go for a few and trap me, but meh if it's just the first I will ignore hunter x hunter for the next 4-5 years until there are season sets for like $15 :p

I watched the first disc of Code Geass: Season 1, and was reminded of just how good that series is. I did pick up on the "echo" effect that was added for the loudspeakers on the Nightmare frames. This is particular to the 5.1 surround sound mix, and does not show up in the standard stereo mix. I didn't mind it so much, especially as it makes sense within the context of the story and world. But yeah, this series really sucks you in. It starts to have some larger issues in the second season, but it really did start off strong.

Funimation sent me my replacement disc for Code Geass, but it was only Disc 1 lose after falling out of a paper envelope sliding around in the padded envelope

As an update, I got my Outlaw Star CE BDs from Zavvi and it's in perfect condition. Let's hope Gurren Lagann ends up that way too.

Some really good deals in this Funimation sale on Rightstuf. Shakugan no Shana is pretty cheap with each season clocking in just over $20. Around $60 for the full series is a great deal. Is Vexille any good? That one is el cheapo too.
I had my eye on Sekirei The Complete Series since Funimation's license is expiring soon. The sale brings the collection down to $30. I also threw in the two Bodyguard Kiba movies for $2 each.

The vision of escaflowne collector set is part of rightstuf's funimation sale.  It's on sale for $107, which about the price of the uk version.  I'm wondering if it will go any lower.  As much as I like the series, I have a hard time paying over a $100 for a show.

Thanks! I had ordered from Amazon for $35, but it is still awaiting stock. Right Stuf shows in stock, so for sightly cheaper, I should be more likely to get it.

So I was going through my Ghibli collection and decided it's time to upgrade my sets. It's going to be pricey though, having to import from hong kong (The HK sets are cheaper than japanese sets). Decided to sell my ghibli lot on my ebay page. Anybody else do something like this? Like mass replacement/upgrading and importing? I'm nervous

seems about right, my wife is a bookworm and they tend to be the girl I would choose in a series to date (granted in a lot of series with a bunch of girls they tend to be the only one that isn't either an idiot or a bitch >.>)

edit: I took it again allowing for all of the supernatural choices I ignored and still got that :p

They have a certain air about them but they always sweep you off your feet, whether on purpose or by accident. You’ll swoon over Takumi Usui from Maid Sama or Nike Remercier from The World Is Still Beautiful

I guess Nichijou released on bluray today. Rightstuf has a bundle where you get vol1 of the manga with it for just a few bucks more. If you were gonna pick it up anyway, might as well get the bundle.

My Zavvi Gurren Lagann shipped! From those who've bought from them in the past, is their shipping typically quick to the U.S. or is it kind of a crapshoot?

They're out of print, which is why the prices are like that. TokyoPop hasn't published much in North America for quite some time now. You'll need to wait for the possibility of the series being licensed by a different publisher domestically.
I forgot that every now and then eBay sellers will list the entire collection for a decent price. Have to snag the next set I see when I get the chance.

The actual process. Like losing things during the import process. I'm also really attached to these films so I want make sure I replace them fast.
If you're buying the movies on eBay you have nothing to worry about. I have been scammed numerous times on eBay and I ended up getting my money back every single time, they're good with protecting buyers. I don't sell stuff on eBay so I can't give you any advice on that.

Mine too. I'd say it takes them about 2 weeks and I'm on the east coast. West coast would probably take 3 weeks.

I got Ditzy/Airhead with Mashiro Shiina (Pet Girl).

I return to watching/reading anime/manga. Is that series really good?
Nichijou is the funniest anime I've seen. The comedy style is unique though, so it's worth streaming a few episodes before picking it up.

This is my favorite bit:
