Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

Have not watched the anime (despite buying it for around these prices Used a few months ago), but I have read the first few manga volumes and it is pretty good. From what I hear, though, the second season goes off on its own story since the manga was unfinished.

Strange that the Soul Eater Blu Ray and DVD sets are the same price. Very good show though. Better than Bleach, IMO.

I've been loving SecondSpin this year ever since Square introduced it. There's a B&M store here in Colorado that has occasional B1G1 free on used, which is awesome since most of their selections are rare or uncommon items.

Shorter than Bleach too. Shame Soul Eater had a non canon ending... I only wish that it would be rebooted but I know that it will never happen.

Convinced me to get Beck. Yay amazon prime! Soul Eater had a fake ending? Is that why the ending sucked so badly? Also, Bleach > Soul Eater. Minus filler trash of course.

Soul Eater was one of the best bang-for-the-buck deals ever when the blu-ray went to $20.99 at Amazon post-Christmas last year...

I would have liked more focus on mature characters like Stein and Marie over the course of the series but it was still quite entertaining save for the weak ending.

There were rumors that they were going to be remaking Soul Eater now that the manga is finished, but it seems likely that those rumors were actually about the recently announced soul eater anime based off soul eater not instead.

I was also going to mention earlier, to anyone thinking about the Hidamari Sketch DVDs in this year's RS sale, that they're about $5 cheaper this year individually than they were in the bundle deal that they sold last year.

yup the voice actress for maka confirmed it like a month ago

and bones just announced it a few days ago.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing as I know Soul Eater Not only has a few chapters. Guessing it will only be 12 episodes unless they go the non canon route again. But hey, with some form of Soul Eater back, maybe the original series will come back for some sort of reboot now... hopefully. ;_;

I have been disappointed in the lack of extras in the Pokemon movie DVDs for a while now, but the new Genesect movie takes the cake. It comes with a Red Genesect promo card that is pretty common looking. I wasn't expecting an EX card or anything, but would making the card holo or reverse holo been that much trouble?

Hopefully we'll see a reboot that stick to the story. Soul Eater was a good anime, but there's so much plot stagnation that the ending feels disappointing. It's like Hellsing, as opposed to Hellsing Ultimate, the vastly superior remake.

I didn't know they still came with promo cards.

The main issue is that most of the Soul Eater anime was canon. Where in the case of Hellsing and Fullmetal Alchemist, they barely even touched the canon in their animes and most of it was all non canon (although in some crazy way they both weren't that bad). I can see it being possible for them re-releasing something like a Dragonball Kai version of it where they mix old and new footage together but knowing how Japan is, I already know that they probably wouldn't invest in a crazy idea like that.

I can always dream though...

This is the first time they've done it since Movie 4 (the Celebi movie). Ever since the Darkrai movie 6 years ago, none of the movies have had any extras whatsoever. Well, unless you count the unskippable trailer for the latest Pokemon game that plays when you put in the disc.

there is a chance it may be a price mistake though, so be aware order may be cancelled since Rightstuf has no fear in cancelling orders outright even if it was their fault.

I doubt it's a mistake. I'm not sure what's up this title but I remember it being $20 (or $25?) at Sentai's booth during Otakon. Guess the title didn't sell so well so they it could be cheap just so they can free up space... that aside, was this anime any good?

EDIT: It's only six episodes... that may explain it.

Which one? It has been a long time but I recall two different ones: the one that came stateside as Samurai X (good one) and the more recent one (totally depressing; hated it) where Kenshin travels home as an old man. Someone else can speak up for what they're called properly but my first introduction was Samurai X and it was badass as a stand alone and got me to watch the entire series. Way more serious tone than the series itself can be said for both and no knowledge of the anime is needed.

this is the plot synopsis

Length of a show really doesn't have much to do with anything to be honest, so I wouldn't gauge it through how many episodes there are. Also, as previously mentioned, this is actually an OVA series, so the six different films were released throughout a span of six months, and this is also one of the rare collections that isn't based off a manga, so that last bit may or may not entice you more to get it, but definitely don't judge it by its length.

And I think we can all agree New Kyoto Arc was the opposite of a revamp, and sucked to high heaven. ;D

I never said it did, I was just trying to see why the price was so low and that could be it. I assumed it was a OVA like FLCL after seeing the episode length, I just didn't Google the series. I just saw on the product page that it was from Bones and I love a lot of stuff from Bones (Darker than Black S1 and yes, even Soul Eater) so I might check it out. Oh, and Darker than Black was all original too! Too bad that second season ruined everything good about the show though.

PS - I ordered it. BE HAPPY.

I'm more keen on seeing that Ace Attorney movie pop up. The Air Gear price is decent. Show has a really good English dub that's hilarious and the music is great. The overall concept is a bit wonky, but it's a fun show still. Yes it has a "hanging chad" of an ending that would make you expect a second season (kind of like if you watched Fellowship of the Ring and never got Two Towers or Return of the King) which is disappointing, but there is an OVA floating about. Can also read the manga to fill in the blanks

Was that the part with BANDAGE MAN or w/e nonsense lol. I seem to recall it taking notes from DBZ and lasting 30 episodes for one fight showdown. All the humor was sucked out of it too, so yeah it blew ass.

Pretty sure Squarehard was referring to the condensed remake of that story arc, and not the original TV episodes.

Ah, yeah, he was. I think he was confused. But it *is* regarded by most as the high point of the series. I was never really able to enjoy Kenshin - I found it to be spectacularly mediocre.

Doubt there is a Blu-ray coming, as the series has been around for a while. Doesn't help that Seasons 1 & 2 are Sentai while Seasons 3 & 4 are FUNination.

Have not seen Dream Eater Merry, but Demon King Daimao is pretty standard fare ecchi action series. The last few episodes do get a bit confusing since it has plot points come up out of nowhere, but it's still decent. No Heaven's Lost Property or Sekirei, but better than Samurai Girls or Majikoi-Oh.

Gonna force myself to wait on that Baccano Blu Ray set until I get paid. I remember when that was like $80. Totally worth it for $40 imo. It will be the first Aniplex USA thing I'll be getting since... Durarara! Part 1 (which I eventually sold).

That Baccano isn't the same expensive set. The original release was the super expensive set which has been discontinued for awhile, and then they came out with this cheaper set awhile ago, although it was still $60 when it came out. Yeah Aniplex, "cheaper". They were even so proud advertising it when they re-released it under this "cheaper" release.

both dream eater and demon king are fairly average shows. Nothing special, but at the same time you likely won't feel like it was a complete waste of time to bother watching them. I know the manga to dream eater is decently different from the anime (they start off similar, but quickly diverge into unique events), so if you end up liking the anime, you won't really be able to continue the story they set up (instead would have to follow what is basically an alternate universe)

I don't know is demon king has a manga you can just continue or not.
