Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon. 

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Seems like another late night glitch guys. They added stuff but forgot to put sale prices on them again. Surely they wouldn't try to offer shows that have SAVE editions easily available under $20 year round and slap $40+ and call it a deal, right?

That's certainly no "sale" for Witchblade. The blu-ray set was going for $15 on Right Stuf a few weeks ago. I guess under $8 isn't bad for the Akame ga Kill manga volumes though. 

The only things I've seen consistently cheap over the last few weeks on Right Stuf are the hentai DVDs. I suppose they're trying to clear out some of their adult inventory stock.

 
HAHAAHA wow what a shit show this has been. the selection wouldn't be so bad if the prices weren't SO high. This wasn't a sale, it was an advert. Once again amazon reigns in my household as the #1 go to place for anime. I never have problems with them.

Amazon sucks.

One they just price match everyone so it isn't like they offer any deals. Just copy cat everyone. Most of the time when it comes to Anime they PM Best Buy.

Two if you enjoy your slipboxes or slipcovers being smashed then sure why not. At least RS actually care about their packaging.

Three taxes, Amazon now charge taxes for most of us. I have been paying taxes on stuff since I have been buying from AMZ. At least wtih RS I don't have that to worry about.

If I buy Anime I usually buy from RS or BB. RS because of my GA and then BB because if I'm going to get charged taxes then at least I can earn RZ points with them. AMZ I get hmm nothing in return.

Same here. Mostly order from Amazon, good deals, no tax and two-day shipping with prime. Never had anything arrive that wasn't in perfect condition, and I order from them constantly.

 
Every single item I get from AMZ comes in bubble mailers. I can't tell you how many times my stuff has come with ding corners or creases. Also, every state will probably get taxed in the future. So enjoy it why you still can. And Prime sucks, AMZ streaming has pretty much nothing that is worth paying $100 a month for. And two shipping while great isn't again worth selling out that much. I can wait for my shippments. I'd rather them come in decent condition versus AMZ shoddy packaing. Although BB isn't much better haha.

I'm a bad anime fan since 90% of the anime I buy is used from Hastings. I think the only new anime I've bought recently was the Lupin III vs Detective Conan releases. And maybe Library Wars.

i hear about banged up packages constantly yet in 10 years I've have one package that didnt get delivered or was stolen one of the two(this was Newegg) and no packages that have been banged up.

Either I am amazingly lucky or some folks are cursed or this banged up package stuff is blown out of proportion. but in my experience....my stuff arrives in good shape every single time.

theres nothing saving this sale....the prices are too damn high. as someone else said the choices arent bad neccessarily(matter of taste really) but unless its been damn hentai theres not really any sales here other than the odd 1.99 music CD or 3 dollar live action movie.

Sorry that is what I meant. $100 a year is still not worth the hassle of paying taxes and not getting rewarded. And the joy of having damaged product. I bought a book from them and again bubble mailer. And yet again dinged corners.

I'm kind of the same way. I buy most of my anime from Hastings and my local disk replay. The only new thing I got during the right stuf sale was the Mobile Suit Gundam Collection 1 Blu-ray. It would have been nice if they had both collections on sale.

 
RightStuf really has been disappointing this year. The only things I was considering from all of their holiday sales were the Little Busters! DVD sets, but now I'm not so sure I even want to get those when Sentai DVD sets have dropped to sub-$10 on RightStuf in past holiday sales.

I ordered something back in Feb from Amazon that was recently fulfilled (was a pricing error), and I got charged shipping because it was under $35. I'm pretty sure I ordered this with Prime because I would never actually pay for shipping, but the CSR I chatted with said it wasn't a Prime order. Anyway, I didn't believe him so I checked my invoice and under shipping speed it said "FREE shipping", and told him this. He said that meant it was free shipping over $35, which makes absolutely no sense. The order was under $35. He refunded me the shipping cost, but I am 100% sure I ordered it with free shipping.

Anyone had something similar happen them or can figure out what had happened?

EDIT: This was my Canadian account if it makes a difference (probably not).

I seriously hated the way they handled this year's sale, especially the one day only deals. They were basically trying to force your hand to get you to buy that one item and throw in some extra things for the free shipping. Can we please just get the 12+ days back? That was much better.

That's what it looks like. The back cover just has "16x9 Widescreen" and "English 2.0 Stereo audio" as features.

Interestingly, the cover on Amazon makes it look like a Steelbook. I really doubt that is the case, though.

i have to agree with this.

especially one day might have something you like day 2 might have two things and I'd rather not keep checking + the shipping too. this and the sale prices werent all that great for the most part.

i bought some things like Slayers and Yu Yu Hakusho but those always hit that price and I've never bought them before. but otherwise a lot of meh all around.

 
I think maybe this year was a warehouse clearing year where they wanted to just move product out. Only thing to explain so many days of "sales". Some of these sales were so weak though it's almost like no sale compared to normal prices at say, Amazon. Still, I got a lot of stuff, so it worked fine for me. I think the big surprise was someone pointing out that Fate/Stay Night was 1080i in the collection and 1080p in the combined pack. Actually got me to buy that and pick up the TWGoK OVA to get the free shipping. I have a lot of ebay work to do...so many DVDs to unload.

 
It really doesn't matter with which release of Fate/Stay you get, as its been widely pointed out that there is absolutely no PQ improvement in the 1080p release over the 1080i version - it still looks exactly the same. But, at least you do get some space savings on yor shelf...

Can't post the embed for whatever reason, but there's an unboxing video that shows it uses hinges. It's a similar case to FUNi's S.A.V.E. sets just black instead of clear.
