 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

That's my plan, I'm just going to hold onto my Gundam Wing DVDs.

I did end up selling my Gundam 00 sets though, since they fetched a decent price, but after that GitS debacle I'm not so sure I should've done it.
Right Stuf is an anime publisher, they shouldn't even be compared to Anchor Bay. Things can go wrong of course, but barring production issues, you can expect proper subtitles, chapters etc.

Soon. G Gundam will be upon us.

Your caution is prudent. I don't think it will be warranted in this instance, but there's nothing wrong with hanging on to your DVDs until we get some reviews on the new releases. As some others have pointed out, Nozomi is Right Stuf's in-house anime publishing branch, and is quite experienced. They also specialize in catering to anime fans specifically, so their releases usually feature everything that the discerning anime fan could want. They also secured the Western publishing rights to Gundam from Sunrise, and Wing isn't the first Gundam series that they are releasing on Blu-Ray. You have numerous Gundam releases you can look to as a barometer for how good their Gundam Wing release will end up being.

One thing to be cautious of is that their releases don't always include English dubbing. If dubbing already exists for a particular series, it is sometimes included. But Nozomi doesn't usually produce new dubbing. So more obscure series that have not been localized before are usually released with Japanese audio only, and English subtitles. This shouldn't be an issue with Gundam Wing, as it has definitely been localized before. But it is something to consider, so read up on the details of this upcoming release before ordering it.

It doesn't have a title on the spine. What are these publishers thinking when they do that.  It's unacceptable.  I'm going to buy the UK version of Outlaw Star since the set looks much nicer.

The one I got from Zavvi was cheaper and the case had amazing art...I agree the CE here has lame art.
Yeah, that Funi CE box for Outlaw Star is pretty ugly. I'm with Starkillr - the UK Collector's Edition has some really nice art on the box, so I'm glad I picked up the UK Box set instead. Thank You Anime Ltd!

Outlaw Star Blu-ray finally coming out 6/13/17. I had every intention of getting the collector's edition, but the case is kind of ugly TBH... most likely getting it anyway though.

Yeah, the UK one is much better imo, but the CE has the 100 page artbook, so decision made.

Yeah, if only it wasn't region 2 -_-

That's to encourage you to spend $75 to get the free shipping, I know, I'm the same way, though, I've wanted stuff from the last 5 sales, but I didn't want to spend $75 to not pay their ridiculous shipping prices. (I want Nadia, and Xam'd)

I just watched some video of DMC...that shit had me crying laughing holy shit. I never knew wtf that show was about and ignored it. Missing out on a gem. Definitely buying that!

I picked up six titles from the Sentai Flash Sale this weekend, definitely can't beat getting 6 cours of anime on Blu-ray for under $100 total. That's only $16 per BD - much better prices than even their Black Friday Week Sales a few months ago:

Intrigue In The Bakumatsu ~ Irohanihoheto Collection 1
Intrigue In The Bakumatsu ~ Irohanihoheto Collection 2
Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East Season 1
Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East Season 2
Rurouni Kenshin ~ New Kyoto Arc
Campione! Complete Collection

These were about the last of Sentai's catalog titles I had any desire to get, except maybe the Grisaia series, which wasn't part of this sale. Ajin is pretty much the only pre-order title I'm interested in right now, so I'm about all caught up with Sentai...

I grabbed K-On, that strange Fist of the North Star movie, Mayou, and DMC. I remember K-On getting a little staid, but meh, it made it $75 and it's probably worth watching again to confirm that feeling.

I asked this question before but it didn't get answered -

Has Viz fixed their Sailor moon sets yet? I love the series but don't want to have to import

If you mean that they issued new discs to replace their crappy ghosting issues... Nope. Just import if you want the best version. I'm OK with mine as the first two seasons are a big upgrade over my ADV copies.

Got my blind box items in.

Ellcia DVD
Eyeshield 21 eps. 14-26 DVD
Hiiro no Kakera season 1 Bluray
Majestic Prince eps. 13-24 Bluray
Time Bokan: Royal Revival Bluray

Only one I've even heard of was Eyeshield. To be honest I started regretting buying five blind boxes as soon as I did it, because I wouldn't have anything to do with the inevitable random volumes of shows I haven't seen. But it's all good.
