 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

New humble manga bundle includes 1 month hidive at $1 tier even for current customers

Update: I already have a year sub but figured for $1 should add another month. I for the life of me cannot find where this code goes , seeing as the tutorial humble provided doesn't explain this so I contacted hidive.

Just warning buyer beware if you have a year sub.

It worked fine for me, though I'm on a monthly subscription. Log in, go to your account page, and at the bottom there should be a place to enter promo codes:

So hidive got back to me with this
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the confusion, I'll be happy explain. As stated on the sign-up page, no discounts will be offered to users that select the yearly plan. That being said, the only way for you to apply the code is to cancel your free trial, resubscribe with a monthly plan and apply the promo code.
So this astrick didn't just apply to while purchasing the year but prevents from doing any plan updates thus preventing any additional time added to account or discounts.

I'm asking for further clarification I'm thinking I may have to cancel which will keep my yearly subscription then re subscribe but to a month by month

..Dammit, I forgot Ristorante Paradiso too. I really dropped the ball on this sale.

But on the plus side, I finally got Riding Bean so I can confirm that I want to back the Kickstarter.

Wait... am I reading that campaign right, is the initial funding goal only going to produce a five to ten minute long OVA? That's kinda, insane.
That's absolute madness. As much as I love Kenichi Sonoda's work, there's no way I'm backing a 5-10 minute animation. When I first heard about this a few weeks ago, I thought it was a full episode.

another deal that isn't a deal.

Shiki leaving Funimation catalog on june 30th.

This is one of the best horror anime out there.

it's easily worth that price.

I am hoping some day I will get to post an actual deal again instead of just pointing out shows that are going out of print >.<:
yeah it sounded good. i went ahead and grabbed it incase this skyrockets in price in a few months and because it sounded good.

BR review: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death-Note-Complete-Series-Blu-ray/140814/#Review

The video is upscaled. You're probably fine with the DVD, but that's a good price for the BR if you rewatch the show enough to double dip.
thanks for the info

my copy is still sealed anyway. i wasnt leaning towards heavily or anything, just curious

I wouldn't consider Death Note very graphic or gory. Most people get killed with heart attacks.
think they were talking about shiki

If I dislike gore, would I be correct in not watching this series?
I'm trying to remember, but I can't.
it's been a while since I have seen it. I want to say it has some gore but it's not a heavy focus. But I actively remember it gets murder happy in the second half. I just can't remember how much of it is shown vs cut away from.

I would learn towards if you can't stand gore at all you should avoid it, but I really can't remember.

guess I have a reason to rewatch shiki now :p

Looks like they're on sale at the official FUNimation store. Looks to be about $16 a set, though they're doing bundle deals too if you're looking for the whole series.

Definitely a good price for the Dragon Ball Sets. At least here, you know are being legit sets unlike Ebay.

new ANN forum rules. Looks like they've been taken over by SJW's.
The SJWs have finally infiltrated ANN.

I see rightstuf has a sale going on. I have been thinking of buying the Berserk mangas for a long time now and they have them in bundles right now. I almost got them during the Christmas sale at the end of last year. Does anyone remember how much they cost for the Christmas sale? I'm wondering if their bundle prices now are the same, more or less than they were during Christmas

anything worth getting form rightstuf sale?
Your Name Limited @ 44.99 is likely the lowest we will ever see it. It was unavailable everywhere for a while before it got another print run. Chances are once they are out its gone for good. Funimation limited sets tend to actually be limited.

good heads up.

i loved that movie and the soundtrack.

I also saw some NIS America titles like 10 Braves, Kimi ni Todoke and more hiding in the Rightstuff sale. I would definitely jump on KnT. That thing is really cheap. Also I believe I saw an FMP compilation set on blu that was like....$15? or so. Otherwise it felt like a pass for me. Newer stuff still too expensive or not in a complete box set yet. I hate buying "parts".

This used to be the case, but not so much anymore. Look how long the amazon exclusive cowboy bebop has been in print.

Having said that I've never seen it below $65ish before, so I bit at $45.

neither have shipped for me.

but it seems like they are in stock on rightstuf in general so it shouldn't be to long.

I regretted not getting Flip Flappers last time so I'll probably get it this time. That $10 shipping though...
if I recall right free shipping is at $75 so if you can find $40 of other stuff you want you can save that shipping fee. You could even look at it as only being $30 more for $40 of other series if you consider the free shipping as a discount for those :p

Hmm maybe it's me, but these prices seemed pretty solid. Got Beyond the Boundary movies, Utawarerumono False Faces and OVA, Chunibyo on blu S1&2 complete collection, Knights of Sidonia S1+2 (note the premium = non-premium price for S2), Flying Witch, Den-noh Coil and Amagi Brilliant Park.

The prices are the same as last sale. Note Big O is at 31.99 like last time. Only difference is all the premium box sets that arent newish are also on sale now.
