Any alternatives to PowerDVD?

I'm looking for any free alternatives to PowerDVD. It came with my computer, but I've reinstalled everything recently and can't find any disc for it with my driver disks. Any suggestions for alternatives? My google search just left me confused.

Are you just looking for a program to watch DVDs on your computer?

Yeah, the codecs to do so though. Seems I can't play dvds and in the past, installing powerdvd would fix that, whether I'm playing them in powerdvd, through windows media player, or with zoom player. Feel free to let me know if I'm doing something wrong. I have a pretty limited understanding of how all this junk works.

Yeah, VLC should do the job. Or, you could try installing the K-Lite Codec pack and then just using Windows Media Player.
