i finally watched this flick and i don't understand the acclaim.

it was long. the wedding sequence was excruciating. the vietnam part i liked. it was so slow that by the time where

i had already checked out.

i get how it's a portrayal of these three men and how war changes people and the people back home, etc. but JESUS that movie was boring.

if you liked the film, i'd appreciate your thoughts.

Its a great flick you just have to be able to watch a long movie. Nowadays when most movies hardly touch the hour and half mark. I can understand some not being able to watch longer movies that don't have constant action.

Yeah, that's one of those you hear great things about and doesn't live up to the praise.
At least IMO.
