Ar Tonelico Art Book (art from all 3 games) $26.39 @ Amazon
Love art books, never played Ar Tonelico. Debating getting Quoga, though. Is the art impressive?
It's a very pretty game. I jumped right into Qoga, without playing the others before it, and I loved the game. There were some references to the past games, but it is new comer friendly.

Great! thanks for the heads up OP, Udon is definitely a plus in my book.

Now if they were to localize anything Atlus/ Phantasy star from sega...
thanks, i think this might be a fairly new listing.

also consider the Atelier series artbook http://www.amazon.com/Atelier-Official-Chronicle-Gust/dp/1926778200/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_b

and Valkyria Chronicles if you haven't already.

Atelier and Valkyria use to have release dates posted on the product page... it shows up as 4/14 and 4/29 respectively on my orders page... possible delay though =/
I have them all and the alice book pre-ordered. Both atelier and this are a maybe, I just want them pre-ordered incase the price drops.

seems like a lot of artbooks coming out these days. The ones mentioned here, Valkyria chronicles, ect. All at high 20's-30 bucks. Is there a chance they'll drop to about 20 bucks or so, or would it be best to go ahead and pre-order the ones you really want? (this and VC for me)

Get them now on amazon because the VC book has dropped a few dollars and it's easier to have that happen automatically rather than keep an eye on it every day. Decide if you're keeping/canceling closer to release.

hah! i say it's high time for those visual/art books to start appearing on our shores with full localization

Japanese writings are only as relevant as those that can comprehend them.

Sadly my level of understanding is but 1 out of every 5 kanji written.

now try reading an interview in one of those art book with my reading level...ya

On topic - seems Gust/Sega are the only two publishers doing visual books beside the Capcom-ladened Udon Entertainment.

Sega series they need to make happen -

Jet Set/Shenmue/yakuza/Phantasy star (especially online + universe saga)

Do that and slap them each with a 200-400 page like with the recent valkyria and I'll personally send them a fruit basket.

Man I would love to have a Yakuza art book. I'm a newbie to the series, but after playing some of 3, I went and bought 1 and 4. Need to keep looking for 2.

Yak 1 still makes me wonder how in the hell does your average Japanese street punk could sound like Tyrone straight outta soul train.

Yak 2 was probably the most memorable, hard to find though.

5 is in the works if you listened to some opening statement from the upcoming TGS. (NGP?...i hope sega leaves some love for their console brethrens too)

Quoted from Sega booth "Tojo Legends don't die out so easily."

Lmao. I played Y1 to make sure it was working (got it used for 10 bucks). Was fighting a punk that sounded like he was from NY, talking fast and what not. He was even dark skinned for a Japanese person. Made me crack up.

Speaking of which, as I'm playing Y3, I've noticed that there were A LOT of black people in that game. From Mack to the Blasian boy at the orphanage to the people walking around in the cities. Was pretty cool :p.

Sorry for the off topic stuffs people. ^.^;;

does the pre-order guarantee work with credits?

I can't imagine why it wouldn't but seeing as how with cards, they don't charge you until it ships, amazon immediate takes your credits deduction into effect.

So...is it done through a credit reimbursement? that seems like a real-roundabout way of a guarantee,

Or does the final price before it ships just changes based on how much lower the price was?.

btw no one really mentioned the [Capcom] Monster Hunter VB that's also on Amazon atm.

I really wish these were hardcover instead of paperback. I love the Hyperdimension Neptunia art book and its amazing cover because it looks like a coffee table book. I'm worried about how these paperbacks will be... but I also love art so I'm probably in for one.

Edit: It's less than half the size of the Valkyria Chronicles one, but it probably has more girls so... sold!

Amazon listing was updated with cover art. I'm secure with myself and everything, but I probably won't be leaving it out on my coffee table.

Unfortunately there goes my motivation to purchase them, can't stand 200+ page books with flimsy soft covers.
can someone school me on what Shining World is?
On the amazon page:"Featuring the stunning designs of renowned Japanese pinup artist Tony Taka, Tony's Artwork From Shining World collects the beautiful artwork behind SEGA's Shining Tears and Shining Wind games. "

The one that's actually in english:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/921281-shining-tears

And the one that's not:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/931666-shining-wind

I think there's a psp game, however these games are even related, but it looks like the book is just those two ps2 games. Otherwise, cute anime chicks, very well drawn, I think is the main attraction of the book. I can't imagine the fanbase is large. Hell, people who even know this is a game/series at all is probably small.

The Visual book at Walmart if you want to save some change.
How does Walmart ship a large book like this? If they ship it in an envelope, I'd rather spend the changes and order it from Amazon, knowing that it has a better chance of arriving in mint shape.
