Yea, that is either overheating, a dying GPU or just a drive issue.

I'd first check for a driver update.

Secondly, I'd check the GPU temp. I believe ATI has a utility for that in their drivers.

Thirdly... I'd buy an NVidia. =D

if I am having overheating, how would i fix it? i've dedusted the ventilation of the GPU recently and i have no idea what else i could do to fix it.
haha well if I end up getting a new GPU, then i'd go nvidia this time because ati is just a pain in the ass to deal with.

Clean up the wiring, if there's a lot of wires around you case then that will prevent good airflow. You could also get higher flow fans.

Or it might just be that it's too hot where your computer is.

wiring is fine around the case and its not that hot where I am (santa cruz) so i have no idea...
also, what's a "normal" temp for a GPU anyways.... its 49º (celcius im assuming) when im not doing anything.

week or 2 ago

while running TF2, its at about 65º

seems normal i guess....
