Happy Thanksgiving CAGers :)

I work for a bank and we received a notice yesterday about a trend recently popping up in my area called ATM scamming. They physically attach a device to the card reader, making it look as if it is a part of the actual ATM machine. This device reads the information from the magnetic strip on your card and transmits it wirelessly to them (probably parked nearby). A box has also been found with a little bank literature on it glued to the ATM that has a small cut out hole near the bottom rear. It houses a small camera to capture PINs and things like that.

Whenever you use the ATM please look at the machine before throwing your card into it. Do not let these guys get you!

When were you hired at this bank? I've had my ATM card skimmed more than a handful of times over the last 7 years or so.

I don't even use my debit card at stores any more, just at the bank where they have anti-skim attachments on the card reader.
