If you checked out my last batch of auctions, I tried offering a discount using my iPod referral link. I offered free shipping on any of my items if the buyer agreed to click on my iPod referral link, sign up, and try out a service. Well, nobody did it, so before I give up on this idea, I'm gonna try it again, but with a better offer for the buyers.
- For either of the promo cds, if you do the offer, I will discount the final value by $7 and I will ship the cd for free. If the final value is $7 or less, this means that you pay me nothing.
- For any of the sealed games, if you do the offer, I will discount the final value by $6 and I will ship the game for free. If the final value of the game is $6 or less, this means that you pay me nothing.
- For the Game Boy Player, if you do the offer, I will discount the final value by $5 and I will the ship the item for free.

First off, let me point out that my discounts are designed to save the winning bidder $10 (all of the final value discounts and shipping discounts add up to $10). There are a few services that you can subscribe to for a free trial and then cancel within the trial period without being charged. You need to call them to cancel, but it saves you $10 on your auction. Personally, I think the one month subscription to Blockbuster online is the most appealing. For just under $10, you get a month of unlimited rentals. So, you might be thinking..."Hey, if I'm saving $10 on the auction but then paying $10 for a service, I'm not really saving anything". But, think about this way. For no extra expense, you not only get the item you wanted, but you also get a free month of dvd rentals. Other services include getting free items but paying a shipping fee (usually around $6 or so). So, in those cases, you might save a total of $3 or $4 on your expense and get to try out some random product. Ok...that's enough of being a salesman, you get the idea.
Due to the nature of this discount, I can only offer it once per person.
And for those wondering why I am willing to take such large losses on my auctions, you need to put it in perspective. I need five people to do this, and if I get five people to do it, I will lose approximately $50, but I will gain a $300 MP3 player, so I am willing to take that loss. It really is a win-win situation, it's just difficult to pull off because most people tend to be hesitant with stuff like this.
