Audio Technica ATH-M50 for $89.99 On The Sound Proffesionals site

I have a pair of ATH-M50's and I can confirm that these are very good headphones. I believe they are even better than Beats by Dre that everyone and their mother wear around town these days.

I think it's just personal preference. For me it's better, because I can use long or short cables depending on my situation. I don't want a 6 foot cable while I'm on a flight. Plus, a detachable is a "safer" way to keep from messing up your headphones. I had non-detachable M-50s awhile back, and messed them up when I stepped on the cord, yanking on the wire. I'd vote detachable every time.
