That deal on Battlefield 3 is tempting, especially since PC version seems to be the superior version (not trying to start flame war but 64vs64 is EPIC). Is this price a preorder only special? how long will the price last
I just talked to them through chat. Told them I have $20 credit usable on video games but that it wouldn't apply. They asked a lot of questions to make sure I actually had the $20 credit then they did it somehow.
Ugh...who did you talk to? I emailed them but I was told I needed to buy the physical game. I did a live chat and was told they need to email their "specialist team".

Ugh..Dammit. I was planning on holding off on BF3 but it's so tempting at this price..I got so frustrated playing the beta, and not just because of technical issues, so I'm still on the fence.

Fantastic. I had cancelled my Origin preorder on the news that it might be coming to Steam. Decided to preorder on Amazon, will maybe cancel if it does come to Steam. If not though, this is a fantastic deal.

Nice...looking to get HOMM DX. If Skyrim becomes a deal, then I might change from physical to DL on that too.

wait is this right? I thought the game had a 64-player limit (32vs32)

Yeah 32v32 is the official max count but some have modded servers.

Just be warned that EA reserves the right to ban people who use modded servers.

They reserve the right to pretty much do damn well whatever they please with their service, but they wouldn't actually do it. It'd be a PR nightmare.

Tony,

Awesome deal!
Two questions about paying.

1. I see there is not an option to choose to pay with JUST a credit card if you have any Amazon credit, unlike when purchasing pretty much anything else on Amazon. I know it's a somewhat interesting point, but still...

2. Also related, there is not an option to use any Amazon.com credit card reward points.

Are there any plans to change this in the future or is this some type of policy for downloadables?
How do I cancel a origin pre-order? Could have sworn they charged me already for BF3.
You can cancel your preorder on Origin. Just go to the chat and talk to someone about it. I got my cancellation about a week ago

So how does this Amazon digital download work, besides the obvious? What I mean is, can I use this digital download key for Origin or Steam?

Edit: Okay, so after some reading, I've answered my own question - Amazon sends key on date of release, input key for mandatory Origin install. Thanks. Best deal by far. Glad I waited.

K people that want to get their Gears credit applied read this:

Talked to chat. No go. Gave me the Game Download number.

866-439-0310

Called them up and the guy said he could reissue a generic promo credit, but he wasnt sure it if would apply. Tried it real quick and it works!

Also, I told him if i couldnt apply it then I would just buy $20 of graphic novels or something and not give Amazon the extra money. Then Id go to Best Buy and buy the game for $60. I really wanted to support Amazon in this instances tho.

Very glad at the way Amazon handled this. Amazing deal and will gladly support Amazon and their future digital sales. $22 for BF3 and I dont have to travel anywhere! WHOOOO!!!

Depends how they spin it. If they go with "they are unfairly inflating their ranks", which would be a (potential) side effect (more people, more killing, more points) then they could easily get away with it. The people who care are the same people who "boycotted" Modern Warfare 2. And the people who actually play the game just see "Me want fairer stats!"

I doubt they'll ban for the higher playercount servers, but at the same time, I ain't gonna be hopping on those.
Can we pre-load the game before the midnight launch? I really want to play as soon as the clock strikes midnight.
nope, according to my Amazon game library it will be "Available on October 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM (US/Pacific)"
nope, according to my Amazon game library it will be "Available on October 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM (US/Pacific)"
Yeah, it said that too but I was a bit confused since technically the "minute it comes out" would be midnight (in accordance w/ Origin.)

Oh well. I guess I'll stick w/ my Origin pre-order I got for $47 and a free copy of Dead Space 2.

Yup.. unless they come up with a better deal(you can only dream) ;)
Just placed my order. Thanks...
Man... Nov is gonna be all play & no work :D
Any idea how big the BF3 file will be? Otherwise I'd rather wait 2-3 days for Newegg.
The beta was 3.74 gigs, but that only had 2 maps and none of the single player stuff. I'd guess something like 10-12 gigs, tops.
http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-system-requirements/

Says 15 for disk, 10 for digital. Not sure why it would make any difference.
It's going to be a big install though
Damn, not surprised though. Although it's too late to go back to my Newegg Preorder but the $5 will be worth it in the end. Might take a day or two to download it but what the hell, I don't need to play BF3 right now.
you console nubs need to stay out of the digital amazon deals threads...
You PC elitist snobs need to STFU and stop posting garbage bullsh*t totally off-topic and irrelevant to the game / deal...

BTW, I got in on this deal. After my $34 trade-in credit from Black Ops, I only have to pay $11 for BF3 on PC.

It's too bad Amazon has the worst pre-order bonus though. Dog tags? Really?? Even Best Buy has a better bonus...

Double-dipping on BF3. Getting it for PS3 too.

you aren't very bright to have missed my signature with my psn trophy score...

but on topic its a great deal and i will be buying this on friday when I get paid... who cares about the preorder bonus when this is easily the best price period..

Wow, I get back home late only to see this awesome topic! I knew you were destined for great things here at CAG Tony! I...I...I love you man!

In for this kick-ass BF3 deal. Total after Amazon credit....$0. :D
Hey CAGs!

I've got some fun news for you, and I'll give you all a fully updated post shortly but I wanted to get this in front of you immediately.

Pre-order games for up to 30% off:

Battlefield 3: $41.99 - 30% off
Assassin's Creed Revelations: $34.99 - 30% off

I'll keep updating over the next few minutes.

Cheers,
Tony
I just got home from work, and that's awesome. I've already pre-ordered everything but the Sims 3 Pets at other places, but I'm hitting Amazon up for the Pets expansion. I was going to log in tonight and pick up NBA 2k12 anyway.

I can probably trust that we'll see NFS The Run show up soon, so I'll keep holding off on buying it anywhere.

Glad to have you all the way on board, Tony.

A deal on the console versions would be very nice. I still use XP on my gaming pc because I never had a need for Vista/7 until this game so I just pre-ordered it for Xbox on Newegg. I'd much rather buy from Amazon than Newegg and I don't want to have to buy a new OS just to play it on PC. Even a future purchase credit would be great, anything is better than some dog tags. :)

Awesome deals, but I assume this is just because Amazon is trying to establish their PC download to compete with STEAM and other established download service... and this is why we don't see those $20 gaming coupons anymore :) Amazon already established themselves as a video gamer retailer.

It would be appreciated if the same deals are applied to the console versions, lol wishful thinking... good deal nonetheless but I'd rather play FPS on console than PC (yes for me its the other way around.. my hands is more at home with the PS3 controller on shooters than a mouse)

Whether they have established themselves as video game retailers or not, they need to step their game up. There are so many retailers offering better preorder bonuses and midnight releases of these upcoming games, it makes it worth it to pay tax at a store rather than getting it at amazon. Besides if Amazon would just give a promotional credit for a future purchase it would guarantee another sale for them in the future.

LOL at them offering $10 off the purchase of a turtle beach headset with a MW3 purchase. We really need to see some real promo credit on these games or else I will be at the midnight release in some store. Amazon's BF3 and MW3 preorder bonuses on consoles are deplorable. :booty:
Tony, you basically put the game at a price that we can expect month or so later after release.... Did you know giving people that GOOD of a deal early on is a crime and is punishable with 10 years in jail? jk :p

Quick question about the download version. Does it still include the dog tag amazon.com exclusive and also the map pack (Back to Karkand)?

I was gonna wait on BF3 but at this price I am finding a hard time to justify NOT getting it now!

*edit* saw that you updated the page to show it includes everything. Will be telling all of my personal friends about this deal also today. Think I will definitely bite now on this!
This offer is definitely for a limited time only. If you and your friends want to pick it up at this price...I'd do it sooner rather than later.

I don't have good answers for those questions currently, but I will look into both of them. Thanks for asking, and creating a meeting topic :).

I'm one of the unlucky ones that has to pay sales tax on amazon, so they really need to step up if they want my money, considering all the other DD sites that i don't have to pay tax on and sell the game for cheaper. This BF3 deal is a step in the right direction though so keep it up.
