Saucy Jack to the Rescue when TSD gets moody.

Thanks for the ads. I'll grab Simpsons S7 for 30 (probably the head version, but I might switch last minute and get the box, I dunno) and the Airplane: Don't Call Me Shirley edition as well. Thanks again!

Thanks again man. Nice deals at Best Buy, except Sin City is $30. At least Target has it a little cheaper. And I can finally persuade my friend to buy Oz, now that it's $42.99.

I just noticed something:

Puddle Cruiser is available at Best Buy NOW. I picked it up Tuesday. It has indeed released on the 6th. In fact, you can order it from various online retailers already.

fuck ya! Great job Saucy Jack! Gonna pick up

Sin City: Recut-Extended-Unrated (avail. 12/13)

at Target come Tuesday. Been waiting all year to pick it up. At least it's a bit cheaper in store there since I need two (one for myself and as a gift) and just can't wait for DDD this time.

how does it compare to super troopers? I've been meaning to watch it ever since I saw super troopers in the movies.

It unfortunate that Sin City is only on sale at Target of all places and not lower than DDD. I've waited this long, so I think I can wait for shipping. Or maybe I can just hold on that until a better deal or the next 20% off sale come summer. I don't imagine there'll be some sort of debacle like with Batman Begins DE.

Otherwise, looks like BestBuy is getting some money from me this week, but not $75 worth. I plan on picking up True Romance and Boogie Nights, plus maybe Kronk's New Groove depending on reviews (the first one was good because of the ensemble; I don't know how well it'll work focused on just one character).

Now when the heck is the Mel Brooks DVD box coming out with Robin Hood: Men in Tights?!

Thanks for the ads!
how does it compare to super troopers? I've been meaning to watch it ever since I saw super troopers in the movies.
Well, it's their first film, and it's very low budget. They shot it at the college they were attending. It's a good movie, but if they tried to release it in theaters now, it wouldn't do well.

If you like a somewhat-drama with a lot of great characters and some funny comedy like Super Troopers/Club Dread, you'll like the movie.

The Sword in the Stone
It seems like the Drew Carey Show DVD is some kind of test to see if people want season sets. I might get it. If they had Robin Hood in that 2 for $20 sale, I'd definitely get that and Sword in the Stone, but I think I'll pass for now.

You are correct.

Studios are starting to do this with certain TV properties in order to test demand. The downside is that a lot of hardcore TV fans aren't going to buy these test releases and just wait for season sets. This could lead to lower sales, and then the studios won't think there's a big demand for the show.

Hopefully Drew Carey will be released on DVD in season sets in the future. I used to love the show until near the end.

indeed. didnt think id have to drop more than $20 for this first week, but hey, extended version, 3 disc set, worth every penny.

Yeah, especially at $8 for 6 episodes when the first season would probably have four times that much for around $30 or even less. I might get just because I want them on DVD instead of catching the one hour showing on TBS maybe once or twice a week. Especially the later seasons since they fucked around with the timeslot way too much to expect any good ratings. I had to have missed most of maybe season 6 or some of 7 when they had it right before or after MNF when I'd rather watch WWF/E instead at the 9 PM timeslot. Then they kept moving it from Mondays to Wednesdays to Fridays seemingly every other fucking week, so I'd miss more episodes because I didn't know that they'd switched it this week. Luckily they were able to end the show at the end of the 9th season before it could be cancelled, which is more than most shows get (especially Fox).

For anyone looking for The 40 Year Old Virgin, your best bet is Comp USA, which has an advertised price of $14.99. I may get it price matched at Circuit City or Best Buy, though, because my local Comp USA is a further drive.

Supposedly, CC might have it for $13.99. You may want to check CC's website and see if they have a price listed.

EDIT:

Haven't checked CC yet, but BB will have 40YOV for $16.99

EDIT 2:

Confirmed that CC will have 40YOV for only $13.99!

Thanks OP!

Forgot about Sin City's Extended DVD until I saw this week's ads. $30 is pretty high, but maybe I'll go use my $5 giftcard I got last week when I brought the 24 S5 DVD from Target.
EDIT 2:

I'll second that confirmation as the instore price tag is at $13.99.

Looks at DemoMan's name. Yep, it's the same guy... weird...

(as Booker T)

Tell me... I did not just see that!

for those with a target closer to them than circuit city:
circuit city has every season of the simpsons marked at 39.99, and 7 marked at 29.99 for this week. as the ad notes, buy season 7 and any other season in store, get 10 dollars off. target lowered the price of every season, 7 included, to 29.99 in this weeks ad, effectively giving the exact same deal. again, only useful for those with a target closer than circuit city.

That's a great deal for that set. It usually runs $20-$25. Even though there's only 6 episodes (they didn't know whether the show would last or not), there's a lot of bonus materials on there. Commentaries, and over an hour of deleted scenes. If you like the show, pick it up.

Thanx for posting the ads. I dont know what to believe on the TSD situation (but i have heard a lot about it on the DVDtalk.com forums) so i will keep out of it.

Thanks for the ads, Saucy!

Anyone hear anything about Walmart's bonus disc for The Island? There's not much info, it seems, and any insider knowledge would be appreciated.
