The last two games I ordered, Dying light and The Order, both were delivered lose. You could do store pick up to fix the issue. My guess it's not BB fault but it's UPS throwing the packages around, that cause it.

idk about three times I picked up a game for in store pickup and the cases were cracked. Discs were fine but twice their were small cracks and anther was literally missing a chuck of a corner and it's hard to tell in the shrink wrap. I was able to exchange them but it's still a pain. idk just something to look out for.

but i've never had this issue before ordering games from amazon and newegg.

I think it might be an issue within the warehouses, or it could be the really cheap thin packaging they use.

If theres multiple of us experiencing this issue, it would be good to open a thread on their CS forums.

It might not do much, put it will bring their attention to it if alot reply to the thread.

I'll start one and leave the link in a new post.

Taking a look at their forums, im not even going to bother starting a thread.

There are so many threads of people reporting damaged copies of Bloodborne and FF, almost the whole first page is about damaged cases.

This is definitely a BB issue and not UPS. It clear that the work procedure in their warehouses is careless.

Hopefully by the time, I start ordering more games, they have it fixed. I'll be upset if my MGS CE comes damaged.

I was thinking about preordering the MKX CE. I'm really only interested in the game and Kombat Pass DLC, but if bought separately it's only $50 less than the CE. Does anyone think I'd be able to sell the Statue from the CE on eBay for $40-$50? I have no experiences with selling items from CE games separately.
 
i'm sure you could sell it for $50-60 but keep in mind ebay will charge you 10%, paypal will charge you 3%, you will have to pay for shipping (auctions tend to sell faster with free shipping), and since the packaging won't be "filled" since you will keep some of the items you will have to be extra careful packing it, since if it breaks the buyer will just return it and you will have to eat a bunch of fees.

honestly if you don't give a shit about the items i'd just buy the game and pass separately, especially since its possible there may be deals on the combo in stores (for example Best Buy fucking up again and giving it for free) and i bet you the pass will discount 20-50% within a month too on some sale.

Hey guys, I'm a BBY GCU/my best buy noob, have a quick question since this'll probably be my first time buying anything from Best Buy videogame-wise with GCU (I brought it about 2 months ago, have yet to use it)...

I want to pre-order Mortal Kombat: X for the PS4.

I now understand that the "Kollectors edition" *WILL* (hopefully...) contain the entire season pass/all? the DLC for the game...I don't care much for the toy and random collectibles in it, but that's an OK random lil gift to give to my little bro.

My question here is basically about price: $48 for regular edition OR $120 for Kollectors. I believe either one gives you a $10 certificate, essentially making it $10 less. These are the "sale" prices with GCU, and I'd do an in-store pickup. Not sure if they charge tax or whatnot, if so, that's another 7% on top.
Can anyone give me their thoughts/opinions on which option is smarter here, or at least what you're doing/what you'd do if you're pre-ordering this game? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you're only interested in season pass and not the other stuff that comes with kollectors edition, just buy the standard game and buy the season pass individually via PSN store

The kombat pass does not include any future DLC. More DLC packs seem to be likely since there are still some fan favorite characters that have been excluded so far.

If you don't care about the CE I would just do the game and buy the season pass separate.

generally season passes cost $20 - $25

same with DLCs, it has now become the norm

Yeah, it's $30. Though with certain titles, Best Buy has been selling the Season Pass for $5 off when you buy the game at launch (Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive), so it's possible that you might be able to get it at Best Buy for $25 when you buy the game.
 
Are certs usually applied before gcu instore cuz I just paid off my bloodborne CE pre order and forgot to use my $20 cert. Came back to do a return and rebuy and it seems like gcu was applied first then the cert. Can't complain since I ended up saving a couple of dollars. Total was $46.xx including tax instead of $50.xx including tax

Lol did they take off $15 the game first or after gcu? I'm not really sure what the target ad says but I'm guessing it's $15 off total purchase not off the game or card?

My BFH disc wasn't lose (shipped from Ohio).

But yeah, the packaging...not much better than just sticking the shipping label on the case itself.

I think it'd be pretty darn noticeable if gcu came off after certs. Basically they would say your total is $40. You would ask to apply a $10 reward cert. Then they would tell you your total is $32.

Hard to miss that...

yea and to me $5 bucks off isn't enough to justify paying for a season pass when buying a game on release day. It would be nice if they would give you 30 days or something to check out the game first and make sure you will be playing it long enough for the dlc in the pass to come out.

 
I picked up my bloodborne preorder today with a $25 cert and I'm also GCU. my total was 22.99 before tax. my receipt shows a 4.99 fee for the preorder dlc. Has anyone else been charged For the hat dlc?

Is that really a "recent trend"? The only other game I remember doing this was the last MK game. Did the Forza games do it too? I personally think that type of policy is complete bullshit and customers should not support it. For a fighting game that is really just stages and characters, to withhold so many characters to charge as DLC is one thing, but then to have multiple "Season" passes? What a joke.

The past two Forza games had the "car pass" and the "vip pass"

The former gives you car packs, the latter gives you discounts on DLC with achievements and some ingame perks.

Evolve is doing it too.

 
The Kombat pass includes 4 characters and 12 alt costumes that are going to be released in packs. 1 character 3 costumes per pack.

NRS will most likely do future DLC after this though and add more characters like they did with injustice.

No the only thing they've shown so far are the character models. The only DLC so far thats day 1 is goro and some costumes.

Sorry I meant that you won't be getting any future DLC after whats included with the Kombat Pass which i believe is why they avoided calling it a season pass.

That's 30 bucks right? I might pre ordwr the collector's and sell it for $130 with gcu without the kombat pass. Hopefully someone buys it

if it was any other mods I would go along with it but honestly Allan is the worst and most dumb imcomptent and biggest dumb ass of a mod on the entire best buy forum site and have been wrong majority of the time giving false information only to have one the other mods have to correct him. I honestly wouldn't trust to much what is said unless it comes from mike or Matt
