So, this is super crappy of me but I already got my $10 GC mailed to me. I have MH set for in store pick up. According to the invoice page the GC was totally free and I still have an outstanding piece for the actual game at full price (plus gcu). If I cancel it seems I may actually not be charged for the GC...

Anyone planning on trading Evolve down the road might want to lock in Amazon's $37.81 values while they're still up just in case Best Buy/GameStop values fail to deliver.

 
Does pre ordering and paying in full instore with GCU work just like online? I usually just deposit $5 and pay in full the day it comes out. I didn't pay off dying light in full instore until release day last time since I had a $10 off coupon. You should be able to pay in full with gcu instore before it comes out right?
 
I pre ordered Evolve and received the email for my digital code to redeem on PSN. Where/when do you get the $10 GC from BB?

 
The preorder monster codes come via email for evolve?  I wasn't sure where to expect to find it because it wasn't on my receipt and I'm not opening the game if it isn't in there.  Thanks in advance.

I got it on my receipt, and it was sent to my email address about 10 mins after the purchase.

 
Holy shit is evolve terrible.  I wouldn't recommend this game unless you have a full party of 4 with tryhard headsets.  Anyone else should skip this.

So I guess you didn't play the alpha or the beta? I agree it was complete garbage. If it was at least halfway decent I would have bought it to play for a few days then flip for a couple dollars but it wasn't worth the effort or time

But what about the flipside of the coin? Playing as the monster vs. the team of 4? Isn't that a big part of the game too?? :) Also, it doesn't appear to be a "Run'n'Gun" type of game, it will require teamwork and strategy.

 
I dont know wtf those guys are talking about. I've been playing Evolve all day and having a goddamn blast. If you play this game like a fucking moron and run-n-gun lone wolf style, then yes, you will hate it. It requires patience, teamwork, communication, and strategy. Everyone has a role to play and if you dont play your part, you will lose. Often.

Playing as the monster is boring as shit. You run around for 10 minutes punching ai and then you mash some buttons against humans who might as well be ai and then you win.

Good thing I can count on the randoms to play their part. :roll: And I didn't even mention all the technical glitches. I'm glad you're enjoying your purchase but this game isn't fun.

I think it's more that people have learned how to play from the beta. Once I just attacked them all right as they dropped in and still won. Element of surprise!

If only people playing medic would figure out it's not TF2.

It's also stupid how to level up and unlock new hunters you have to do stuff you really shouldn't -- directly following Daisy around, as one example.

Got a little play time in tonight and boy do I suck at evolve lol. It's fun and seems like it could be great but man I suck lol. I'll keep trying and if I can't get it together I'll trade it for the order and maybe pick it up when it hits $20.

What did you do man? Did they ask for your email or it was automatically printed on your receipt? I deposit $5 the other day and paid it in full today but they didn't ask for my phone number to apply the gcu since it was already applied when I deposited $5 and I don't even see evolve on my purchase history, just the pre order transaction ($5 deposit)

Yeah, they asked for my email.

My pre-order receipt has no mention of GCU on it though, and it says "estimated remaining $54.99" after depositing $5.

You sure you had the correct total: $43? Evolve already shows up in my history (the second entry dated 2/10).

It shows that the gcu and the $5 deposit were applied. Was charged $45.xx + the $5 deposit = $50.xx total

yea it doesn't sound like GCU was accounted for. It should come to $48 before tax (60 -12) and if you placed 5 dollars down that brings it down to $43 before tax.

Hmm, I dunno then...granted this is only my second pre-order so I don't know what all potential problems there are. But if doesn't show up on your history then that'll probably be a problem with getting your 500 points for pre-ordering, as well.

As for the question from the other thread, the code on my receipt is the same as the one they emailed me.

Sounds like you had the same problem as I did with getting Dying Light. I'm just glad the 500 points are showing up as pending. I'm still kinda holding my breath since my 500 points are attached to my return/rebuy transaction that had negative points.

I think it takes at least a few days for the 500 pts to show up...so it's normal if it isn't there now.

Do you see this as part of the transaction for your Evolve purchase on 2/10?

It takes 15 days before you get the 500 points.
 
BestBuy had to re-ring my pre-order pickup of Evolve a couple times because it wasn't recognizing my GCU discount.  Here's hoping that I still get my $10 rewards in 15 days, I did get my pre-order DLC so that's a good sign.

If it was a return/rebuy, then 99.9% you won't get the bonus $10 RZ cert. You might mention this to someone at that store, they MAY be willing to take $10 off the game so you still get the $10 bonus. YMMV though.

 
I order both dying light and evolve on separate transactions Jan 20 for delivery . I got my dying light points before Saturday, and already got my evolve points today, the day after release.

Typically if you don't pre-order last minute you get your points quicker. Since you ordered Evolve back in January it makes sense.

Damn, BBY issued me a $15 cert even though my preference was set to $20. Oh well I have until April to use it.

It's the same code for my pre-order bonus. I call back AGAIN and I was clear about it being the Hunting Season Pass.

She says she will call me back in 15-20 min. I'll post what happens.

It is obviously a mistake in wording so you are clearly trying to take advantage at this point. You should have let it be after the store said to call.

This is all I see and still 0 points pending. I think it should show 500 points pending by now. I guess it didn't count as a pre order. Do they usually have the game ready for pickup when you only deposit $5? I paid at the order pickup counter if that makes any difference. They had to grab the game from the game section for me. I pre ordered at the last minute by the way. Around 8pm 2/9/15. I see a lot of stuff for my dying light pre order though. This is only my 2nd time pre ordering instore and I'm not liking it so far lol

Yeah, it sounds like you'll have to contact them. You should try the BB forum.

The 500 points is like an extra bonus that isn't tied in with how much you paid. It sounds like if you pre-order online it shows up as pending quicker than if you pre-order in-store. I guess maybe b/c they ship it before the release date, so the transaction goes through a couple of days before a person would pick it up in-store. Give it a few days to show up as pending.

Dying light made me pre order this game instore because of that instore only $10 coupon lol. I'll start pre ordering online from now on. They were ready for pickup.

I think maybe the reason why they asked for my name for Dying Light was b/c some stores stopped taking pre-orders (at least online for store pickup) before it was released. So I guess they had to properly inventory the orders. I don't think that was the case for Evolve so they just grabbed it off the pre-order pile.

GCU is applied if you pay in full (which you have to) for online orders. GCU is not applied for in-store pre-orders, so if you did pay in full ($60), I gather you'd have to go through the process of getting a refund when you pick up the order (I'd avoid that).

You can use certs online, but I can't confirm if you can use them for an online pre-order.
