Both stores near me had them but kept them in the back. I feel like I was the first one to ask about it since they brought them out to the front where store pickup is. On my break from school I bought one from a bestbuy near me since they had steelbooks and I didn't have to pre order. I guess they'd just hand them out to people who ask for them.

Bestbuy in Collegeville, PA has the steelbooks.  After picking up the game at customer service the clerk asked if I had preordered.  They handed me a steelbook when I said yes.  I preordered Friday.

I love this game before playing it. It comes with the soundtrack (on a CD), a very high quality map, a nice thank you letter, stickers, and a book explaining the charters all for FREE!
Just opened mine and I was not expecting all that, especially the soundtrack. Very nice.

So Best Buy ended up charging me $47.99 for the game and $47.99 for the steelbook after I updated my payment information to replace a credit card that was no longer valid.  Both charges are no longer pending and went through.  Looks like I will be calling their shitty customer service line to get this resolved.  I'm guessing I will be shit out of luck on the $10 reward certificate too, since they managed to mess up the "free" steelbook.

Game and Steelbook came in great condition, even being shipped in separate bubble mailers. My CE Guide from Amazon came in great condition also. Awesome.

Sorry for anyone having issues receiving the Steelbook, that really sucks. Just another reason why shipping seems like the best option when it comes to preorder items.

Anyone else get the guide from Amazon?

Yeah, I got the CE guide from both Amazon and BB and it looks pretty good. Will open one and keep the other sealed.

The bonus hardcover book with the guide is really nice quality too. After redeeming the code for the digital guide, I'll definitely be using it a lot. I'm pretty impressed with it. Really like the maps that can jump straight to a section and you can even toggle which icons to display.

Haven't opened the actual game yet, but it seems impressive as well. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Quick Question:

I pre ordered The Witcher online and did in store pickup. Since I did it online was I supposed to give them my member # when I picked it up or is it automatic?

Good game, but I'm having a lot of trouble reading the text. Any way to increase font size? I'm guessing not.
Yup, I'm having the same problem. Squinting all over the place. Maybe they'll patch in an option.

BTW, I was able to price match Target and get a free walkthrough when I picked up my preorder yesterday. Worth a shot fir those who haven't picked up their copy yet.

They didn't apply my $5 downpayment methinks, hopefully that doesn't effect the $10 cert.  Also, did anyone else not have the soundtrack inside their game? It says it was supposed to come with one, but I opened it up and couldn't find it (like everyone else seemed to have on the unboxings)??

Assuming you ordered from your account online, all you should need to show is ID and proof of payment when you go pick it up in store.

Glad I shipped to home instead. Both my steelbook and game were delivered today, even though the game was only shipped yesterday. 1 day shipping is crazy considering I chose free shipping.
When did you order? I ordered yesterday but online tracking is showing estimate delivery on the 26th which blows... im soo spoiled by amazon prime delivery. Being that its a holiday weekend coming up, ill most probably go to the store today to pick up a copy.

Was the steelbook being offered early on?

I thought it was just me and old age. But definitely hard to read some of the onscreen text especially on the screen for the map, inventory journal etc.

Yeah, I was googling and a lot of people are having the same issue. Apparently the same issues was present in the 360 version of The Witcher 2 and they ended up patching it so you could make the font bigger. Not sure why they didn't do that from the get go here. It sounds like a minor thing, but it is kind of effecting my enjoyment. I have to squint every time I go to pick up an item to see what it is. If I actually go into the inventory I need to stand up and get closer to the TV.

Edit: I found this link to CD Projeckt Reds support site.

http://en.cdprojektred.com/contact-support/

Submit a ticket about the small text (I just did). If they are seeing enough of these I'm sure they will prioritize fixing it. They are one of the most consumer friendly developers I'm aware of so I definitely expect they will address this sooner rather than later.

Did look underneath the game disc? It is on the same "holder"as the game

Wait, so this was an issue that has happened before? The text actually stopped my playing last night. I just didn't want to squint to read anymore and played 45 mins of rouge legacy instead. The game is fun and really cool, but it's not beating out Bloodborne for my game of the year.

Also, it's not running that smooth on the ps4. I'm getting choppy frames and flickering textures and shadows at times. I'm also not in love with the movement of the character in towns and just walking around. Movement in combat feels great, otherwise its really clunky.

Still, I'll keep playing the game and I really like it, I just wish that I hadn't just played Bloodborne. On the plus side, loading screens in the witcher are pretty fast.

Yea I agree. I'm going to keep playing and such, but I'm amazed that none of the reviews picked up on this

Glad-ish to hear that you're having some slight performance issues as well. I'm having them, but I thought it was because I was playing the Xbox One version which is presumably not up to snuff with PS4. Nothing major, but some of the cutscenes have been janky.

Ironically I'm in the middle of playing through Dark Souls 2 and I found the transition to this combat to be kind of tough, too. Not worse, just different (keep instinctively trying to block with a non-existent shield and press the wrong button to roll).

Went in yesterday to pick up my in-store preorder for witcher 3 collectors edition. Friend of mine who works there had it on the back counter with a shrine built out of the preorder steelbooks around it he said that they had been admiring the box all day so we opened it there and looked at the goodies. After chatting a bit i walked out with my CE and the free steelbook he said they will probably end up with some extras because people wont pick up their preorder.

Just checked my BB Account and my bonus points are already pending. Hell yeah!

For anyone new to this promo, it'll look like this, and the transaction is under the day you preordered. It's the bottom Victory can be Preordered.

How did you get it for $38+tax? Was there a price mistake at some point?

EDIT: nevermind, you used a $10 cert. I'm dumb.

So did the 'Victory can be preordered' message always appear or did it just show up. I don't see it on my preorder.

I know the points can take some time to appear but just wondering if the text itself should be showing up on my order.

No it'll appear with the points. Also I did shipping if that matters, I think it does. Since it shipped on Friday, they count that as the day I picked it up.

I picked up my pre-order copy around 7pm last night in Michigan. They had a stack of ~10 or so steelbooks still. Seemed like they were giving them out on a first-come basis, as they didn't check to see if it was on my pickup email or not. I was able to get mine just fine :) Got it installed, but won't get to play until this evening. Excited! :D

How do they apply any reward credits if you preorder online for instore pickup?

edit: nevermind, you can add it during checkout

Lol that tiny text is what turned me off too. Esepecially since my tv is so small. Any chance they patch that or something to make it big enough?

I asked the clerk when I was picking up my order of Witcher if they had any more steelbooks, she said no. :(

I picked up my game after work yesterday at 5:30 PM.

I placed my pre-order on April 6th. I'm pretty sure the steelbook has been available for a lot longer.

Picked up my Witcher 3 today and don't even want it right now lol, got it for my bro in law to play and he got to already, mite just trade it up in lol

Order at BB.com and use a gift card, already got the 0 points clear but no bonus just yet. I know it's not going to post, DAMN YOU BB.com, so gonna have to wait those 20 days and hit up bb forums. They always make you wait those 20 day, lol.

My local best buy actually called me saying they got the steels for witcher in today. Picking it up tomorrow as I didn't have time to go tonight.

When did you preorder? Most likely you'll get it. I think it's actually fairly rare for people to not receive the bonus now days. Unless you did a return/rebuy or something to void the bonus. Not everyone gets the bonus at the same time. For some people it might take 1 day and for others it might take the full 15. It all depends on how early you preorder and whether you do instore or online. Preordering online for instore pick up is just like preordering instore. In my experiences, preordering online with shipping gets you the points faster. Also as I've said multiple times, the earlier you order the faster you get the points. For instance I preordered April 13th with shipping and I received my points already.

Also about The Witcher, I've only played the tutorial but the text seems fine to me. I'm playing on a 42in if that matters.

Ugh, heard back on the forums about my CE fiasco and I'm basically shit out of luck.  Will have to drive back 2 hours round trip to get the steelbook and they wont help with the preorder bonus that got messed up.

Hadn't bought any new games for a while so I hadn't noticed that the standard base trade in for newer PS4/XB1 games is now $28 instead of $40. Guess the days of "free" month long rentals are over.

Edit: guess I'm wrong and won't feel guilty about opening up Witcher 3 whenever it arrives.
