In the store, the system drops the game to $49.99 first ($10 off) and then drops it by 20%. So instead of saving $11.99 with gcu you save $9.99.

If the system had taken $10 off the movie, then it would have been $9.99 and $47.99 for the game. I guess online is taking $5 off each.

I'd like to know as well. I still don't know what the code from ground zeroes gives you for the phantom pain.

Are the collector's editions of mgs v supposed to have extra in game content than day 1 editions?
I couldn't even find any ps4 copy of the game at gamestops and bestbuy near me.
 
To unlock everything from Ground Zeros into phantom pain is a lot of work, there are 4 costumes and 20 NPCs that can carry over.  They require completing stuff on hard, normal, S modes, rescuing 20 prisoners across various missions, recreating scenes in specific missions, etc.

So this morning I get an email that Mad Max has been delayed and that they will send it out when they can. Then later on I get another saying my ordered was canceled. I call and the lady says oh that they ran out of stock and had to cancel it. That is complete bull because it doesn't say sold out online. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I went to the store and asked them to adjust but the manager gave me some BS about how the promotions don't stack with GCU. I just kind of gave up at that point and cancelled my order, instead of going to another BB or calling into CS. I hate how Best Buys are completely inconsistent from store to store.

Do you know if after you start MGS V campaign, can you upload GZ data again after doing more stuff to unlock more?

I got lucky... Told the customer service rep the deal when I went to pick up my online preorder, he said he would grab a manager, but grabbed the manager that never will take any money off ever. I said no she won't ever do it for me, so he grabbed a geek squad manager who was like no problem. We did the pick up and then he rang me out for Mad Max on Blu, took $10 off and I got the full discount.

Well hopefully they didn't call it "double dipping." That puts me close to the edge in a situation where I need to keep my composure and help explain things to them.

 
Used a gift card to get Metal Gear Solid and it shows 0 points for the normal points. Obviously waiting a little longer for the victory 10$ to show. I guess you don't get reward zone points with gift card purchases because same thing happened when I bought a bluray so I was wondering if someone used a gift card to purchase a preordered game and got the 10$ previously?
 
Yes I've used GCs to buy games and gotten the 500 points ($10) victory can be preordered bonus, many times.  GC payments do not unfortunately give regular points as you found out, since you get points when you buy the GC.

There is a simple rule for the 500 points ($10) preorder bonus: Do it at least 30 days in advance of shipment and you will almost always get your 500 points within 3-4 days of shipment.  If you wait until a week or two before release you will usually end up waiting the full 15 days for it to post.  Sometimes you will see Victory can be preordered with 0 points, sometimes you have to wait a full 2 weeks to see it.

 
I preorder my games in store, at the customer service, make them look up the SKU and I pay in cash. I'm just old school like that.

If I buy GCU. Could me and my boyfriend each buy a copy of blops 3 and use my GCU to get 20% off each copy and each get the $10 reward certifcate? We both have a rewards account.

Basically is GCU linked to your best buy rewards account or is it seperate?

You each get the 20% off, only one $10 cert though. If each of you have an account each, then you get $10 each. GCU is linked to your 'MyBestBuy' a/c - which now goes by the name of Rewards a/c.

Mine says invalid as well.

However I was also one of the people who never got their date extended properly (pre $30 sub price) and I wonder if it's a result of them trying to fix that

My wife and I each have our own GCU accounts for the preorder bonuses on situations like Madden coupon, where it be hooves us to purchase another copy on separate accounts. Other than that, I use my account for a single game preorder and leave hers for any gift purchases in excess of the 3 game limit.

Oh and our Madden points posted on both GCU accounts. Sold both for $50 cash as well.
 
For some reason it's not showing all the points for my MGS and Mad Max orders as pending like it usually does, only the amount I paid and the GCU bonus is pending but not the amount of points for the rewards certificates. I'll wait the usual couple weeks but I really hope I don't have to go out of my way to receive my $20 in rewards. 

 
ive been doing these $10 pre orders for a year now and when MGS V came in yesterday it was the first time the ps4 disc didn't come rattling around in the case. On the other hand, mad max was rattling around in the case.
 
This seems to have come up before but I have to ask, I preordered MGS 5 and bought it on launch day. Not seeing that the points went through and I'm definitely not seeing the 10 dollar certificate. I'm also not seeing my points for until dawn either. Everything shows as pending and the 10 dollar cert is no where to be found. I was planning on using the cert for mario maker. This isn't going to happen is it?

Sometimes it takes 15 days, when did you preorder? I preordered mgs in March and MadMax in July.
 
Can someone enlighten me on next weeks FIFA trade-in promo? How would I go about using the $10 off coupon with a preorder and I assume GCU wouldn't stack with the promo?

If GCU stacks and the coupon takes the $10 off of $48, then using the trade-in credit of $20/$15 which would make FIFA 16 $28/$33 before taxes. That isn't factoring in the $10 RZ bonus for preordering. I hope the system allows this scenario.

Yea I personally think that's the Best way to go. Mines a Mastercard though? It's nice especially for CE games, especially if I'm unsure if I want it. I just started shopping at BB last year(my closest store is about 45 minutes away). I hit Elite right before black Friday and hit Elite Plus right around Xmas. So far this year, I'm over Elite and after Black Friday, I'm sure I'll hit Elite Plus again. My family and friends have me order everything from BB for them, since I can the BF prices 3-4 days early. Hell with the Pipboy and Juggernog editions and Rock Band, that's $500 right there.

The earlier you preorder the faster your Cert arrives. I try to say this at least every couple weeks. They need to add it to the OP. I always preorder at the least two weeks in advanced, sometimes a lot sooner. Also I always receive my games in release. Sometimes if you wait a few days before release, the game won't arrive on time.

What I should have done is had them ring up the game and blu ray in a separate order to prove to them the system does allow stacking, but o well, now I play the waiting game.
 
Had my MGSV 500 bonus points posted already.  This is the quickest that has ever happened for me - good thing I ordered in March.

my metal gear purchase isn't showing up in my purchase history. It's on the order status page but not purchase history that shows the points. I ordered online for in store pick up.

I also traded in hardline when I picked up metal gear and that is showing, meh I'll wait awhile and see.

my order for mad max isnt showing up yet either, i just ordered it on august 29th though, but i did trade ins sunday and tuesday and they are already pending.

 
This was my first pre order through best buy (mgsv) and my tracking info shows as it getting here 9/8. If that's true, this will be my last pre order.
