Anyone else not feeling much love for the spring game releases?  Had Quantum Break, Doom 4, Overwatch, and Dark Souls 3 on preorder.  Cancelled all of them except for Dark Souls 3.  Between the new low $35 TIVs and not feeling much love for the other games.

Still looking forward to Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4 though, too bad neither is part of the $10 bonus.

I guess when the next B2G1F is done I'll have some stuff to buy, which is nice

I am in the same boat. Had them all reserved and without the BBY $10 promo I cancelled them. Aside from Overwatch, all these releases are mostly single player games. Due to this, they will tank in value and be around $30 in July. I can wait until then and grab them with a B2G1 deal. Besides the summer is usually a slow release time anyways.

Nah, I'm about the same as you. Never been a big Doom fan and Overwatch/Quantum just don't seem worth day one buys to me.

Doom and Dark souls are "wait for sales" buys. Overwatch is a day one buy for me. After playing it, it's one of my most anticipated games. Quantum break is good enough I'll buy day one then trade it when I'm done

the only ones for me are multiplayer games or story games I love, like tomb raider / uncharted / assassins creed.  Helps a lot when every MP game has a big beta now too.  I played Doom beta this weekend a lot, while I enjoyed it I just don't feel like it offers me anything that different from my typical black ops 3, battlefront, destiny, or halo 5 sessions, just more demon textures.

Overwatch beta is is May 3d - 9th, will definitely check that out but so far from twitch the game feels meh, like a 2016 reboot of TF2 and too objective / team based for me to have much fun in it.  I just wanna zone out and kill people while running around, not get mad that everyone on my team is completely ignoring the objective.  Plus no SP campaign at all :(

Division was a great game to get at launch though, grinded the shit out of that game and got in on all the whacky crazy exploits like getting 12 people into a challenge mission (fixed), farming a single boss for items for hours (fixed), or farming high end drops from a mission boss (fixed).

I keep going back and forth on Battleborn. I feel like if I really want to play a MOBA I can just throw on Smite but the art style and cast of characters look really intriguing. Another con is that it has a season pass and I'm trying to get away from games with season passes since most of them suck shit through a straw. But I'm also afraid of getting the game too late and being way behind in the multiplayer. Ehhhh first world problems like a mofo.

Doom and Overwatch are day one though.

I have enough to play on the horizon, so I'm not keen on waiting. Overwatch and DS3 don't interest at all, so boring to consider with them. Quantum Break is supposedly only 10 hours or so, messaging I can't beat it in a few days, maybe a week. I really liked the DOOM beta, so I will be all for pre-ordering it and playing it right away (anything to escape the pile of garbage that is Halo 5 Arena). So, I figure I will get QB tomorrow, finish it by Monday, trade it in (unless I have to hunt Achievements or something), then I will work on The Division and Neverwinter for the rest of the time before DOOM. After DOOM, there isn't a release I am watching before the fall, so letting it wait for a sale just means I am bored over the summer.

If you're on the fence about Battleborn like me, the open beta starts tomorrow (8th) for :ps4: you also get the first dlc pack for participating. April 13th for :xb1:. I hope this can change my mind.

Links to preload

PS4

XB1

*Getting beta access first isn't the only benefit that PS4 players are treated to, as Sony players who play the beta will also receive the first Battleborn expansion and instant access to the character Alani at launch. Not only that, but PS4 players will get to try out the character Toby in the beta.

If it does change my mind, I know what version to get haha.

Yup, but for me I'm also skipping out on Dark Souls 3 as much as it pains me to do it. I "considered" myself a die-hard Demon/Dark Souls fan but this is the first CE (& game) I am going to skip. I can't justify owning yet another statue with the little shelf space I have left and even though $10 isn't a big deal, it made my decision much easier because I have a large backlog to go through.. and Fallout 4 is making it tough to get through it because I keep building bloody settlements. :whistle2:

I had assumed I'd be in the same boat but I really did not like Fallout 4. Wish I hadn't bought(and redeemed) the season pass before I played much of the game. That one stings a bit.

I keep thinking about grabing DOOM but I'm extremely trigger shy right now.

This might help you decide one way or the other...DOOM has a Season Pass too!

Wasn't Overwatch part of this $10 promo? I was on my way to preorder it this morning but now I'm not seeing anything about the extra $10 back and Battleborn is the only game being listed with the extra $10 promo.

use the link in the OP, overwatch, doom, battleborn and lego star wars are all listed there

Really glad DOOM was added. It would be awesome if they added Uncharted 4 as well, but seeing as it comes out before DOOM, that's very unlikely.

I am a bit disappinted Uncharted is not part of this deal.  I considered canceling it but I order it during the great 50% off bug.   On the other hand i won;t be able to get the coins.

Lots of games I want, but I'm too much of a cheap ass to pay full price. I'll wait.

I would have been tempted to get Doom if it didn't come out 3 days after Uncharted 4. Sucks that the delays put them so close to each other.

I see the BBY site mentions Overwatch but I don't actually see any mention of the $10 credit on the game page.

I was looking to get 2 copies of PC for me and my daughter. With GCU and $10 that puts it in the same range as shady key sites, but legit.

Also how do they handle things like the early access beta? I wish they would just provide an online key for redemption but I'll have to go pick up a physical copy...

Remember, you can only get one $10 reward certificate per account (per game). If you're looking to save money, Overwatch will also be available digitally on PC for $40 for the non Origins edition. Look up what's included to decide if the extra content is worth the price. All you're really getting with the Origins edition is 5 cosmetic skins and some in game items for other Battle.net games.

As for your last question, as long as you include your account number when pre-ordering you should be emailed the key for early beta access by Best Buy. This applies to both online and instore preorders.

Still a niche game even though the series is super famous now. I don't remember there being a release party for fallout 4 or street fighter v so i doubt it tbh

Ahh ok. I've never actually preordered more than 1 of anything before. That still applies for a different order? So just preorder one copy, end transaction. Make another preorder?

I knew about the non origins. I was leaning that way but with this being so much closer I figured id go with best buy.

I also have a gift card with $75 left on it, so I still wont be eating too much damage. I think I shell out about 25-30 and then Ill get at least $10 back. Not a bad deal to bring my daughter into the pvp realm.

Just saw that LEGO: The Force Awakens was added, and I'm considering pre-ordering, but I don't think I can justify buying this at full price, even with GCU. I'm still waiting for LEGO: Avengers to drop to $20-30.

I find it annoying that the 3DS qualifies for the $10 when you click the link but the vita version is not listed.
I preordered the Vita version anyway for $20 with GCU and $5 rewards.

Is it just me or has best buy really slowed down on this promo as of late; I feel like in previous year(s) we have seen more titles on this list then what is there currently.

3DS version qualifies?!?

As long as the initial trade in value is above like $16, you can rent it for free and get a free Lego set!

Are we playing the same Borderlands? I found the game to be way half ass backwards from Borderlands.
Agreed. Borderlands is like Mad Max on crack.

Battleborn was like Destiny with the cartoony style of Borderlands, without the quality. I actually felt like I was playing a hybrid of the two. The controls felt very clunky and the characters felt slow. I didn't like that I couldn't aim down the sights with characters that had guns. Also, just way too many damn characters.

Yea I hated Battleborn. It was so boring and the game was just ugly. Especially when using the abilities it looked some some shitty free-to-play game.

Battleborn plays like garbage, half the time I wasnt sure what I was supposed to be doing. Its nowhere near the quality of destiny or borderlands. You can ads in battleborn tho, at least with the character with the AR and the airstrike/stealth camo.

I don't understand why everyone is saying Battlefborn is nothing like Borderlands like it is a bad thing. I love Borderlands, so much so that I have all the games on multiple systems and even have some signed items from VA who played Sir Hammerlock and Angel.

This is NOT Borderlands, it's by Gearbox, that's it. Sure the art style is somewhat similar, but I consider it to be more akin to Ratchet and Clank. This is a FPS MOBA. This is not an RPG in any form. I for one am having a blast playing it in the beta and already put $5 down. I am not 100% sold on it but I figured I would put $5 down and make my mind up closer to release.

I am fine with people disliking the beta or not wanting the game, but a lot of the reasons seem to be based on a misunderstanding of what the game is trying to be.
