Same here, $1.99.

Nice!
My BB turned me down today for the $1.99 Descendents deal. Can anyone please help me find the rule on best buy's website about the "combination of one best buy coupon and one manufacturers coupon being allowed." I would greatly appreciate the help.

Continue reading to hear my long rant about what happened...

I was in a rush to make it to the movies (had free tickets to a preview screening of Dark Shadows at 7:30. Yeah, I'm an hardcore CAG). The best buy employee left the register and asked who I assume to be a manager and told me "no." She told me the best buy upgrade and save coupon says it can't be combined with any other offer.

I nicely said "I read on the best buy terms page that Best Buy allows 1 best buy coupon and 1 manufacturers coupon, but not two best buy coupons or two manufacturers coupons. Best Buy gets reimbursed for manufacturers coupons." I said this in the nicest way possible as to not sound like I'm contradicting her or telling her how to do her job. I'm a very soft-spoken person who will do anything to avoid confrontation.

The best buy employee didn't have an response for me except "no". I wasn't planning on doing this, but I took a $5 videogame preorder receipt out of wallet and asked for a refund. The best buy employee said "I don't think we can refund you. They probably gave your preorder away to someone else."

I've never ever tried to get a refund for a preorder until today. It looks bad for me and it looks bad for best buy. At the time, I didn't care if I got banned because I was perturbed. In the past, I used the upgrade and save coupon along with a manufacturers coupon to buy When Harry Met Sally, The Crow, Mimic and others. I guess I've been really lucky in the past and I shouldn't be too upset right now.

Anyway, she got the manager override to reimburse my preorder receipt and I used the manufacturers' coupon to get the movie for $1.99. I would still like to find that terms of service page on bestbuy.com so that I can contact that manager or the district manager and ask to have my upgrade and save coupon applied to my purchase.

At least I really loved that Dark Shadows movie, so the evening wasn't a complete loss. *rant over*

I actually posted something on Best Buy Unboxed to see what I could do to get them to honor the upgrade and save + manufacturer's coupon last night (for Harry+Sally, Descendants, Universal $3), but none of the employees have said anything yet. Since I still haven't gotten my GC from Mass Effect 3 (they said they're going to send me a physical one) after a month and a half of PMs and postings, I'm not holding my breath. I'll let you know if I get an answer.

I got one more Blu today. Last week I was thinking about Green Hornet but I decided against it, tagged $26.99 and on sale for 17.99. Today I saw Green Hornet 3 Disc with 3D Blu, 2D Blu and DVD/Digital Copy with a $16.99 price tag. My first 3D Blu!

Purchases so far:
Green Hornet 3D - ($16.99) - $11.99
Mission Impossible 4: Best Buy Exclusive - ($19.99) - $14.99
Source Code - ($10.99) - $5.99
Iron Man II - ($14.99) - $9.99
Public Enemies - ($9.99) - $4.99
Paul - ($17.99) - $12.99

Can someone help me with the universal 100th code?

I have two codes. I will give you one if you redeem mine and do I print to PDF and email me the coupon PDF. Neither my wife nor I can install the coupon printer on our computers :(

PM me of you can help!
Is Fringe a good show? At that price, makes it tempting to watch but not sure if I should bother.
I never watched Fringe at all before a couple months ago. I ended up watching all three seasons on blu in less than a month it was that good. If you like the x-files you should like it. At that price you can't go wrong in my opinion.

Last haul for this promo:

Observe & Report 7.99 (no coupon)
Casino 4.99
Where the Wild Things Are 4.99
Taxi Driver 9.99
Breaking Bad Season 1 7.99
40 Year Old Virgin 7.99
Has anyone had issues trading in DVD titles that use the snap cases?
No problems here.

Also, finally decided I wanted to give Fringe a try and the Best Buy near by are out of stock T_T. One is closing and another getting remodeled so their inventory has been low as of late.

Nope, in fact two of mine were on separate occasions.

Don't read the spoilers.

If you like X-Files, you'll like Fringe, but it takes a while during the first season before Fringe really goes off in its own direction and you find out it wasn't trying to be an X-Files copy.

Started watching season 1 live on network and then lost interest. Picked it up on netflix months later and watched the entire season 1, but still wasn't completely hooked. Started watching Season 2 live again, then lost interest again. Perhaps in later seasons they fixed it, but in season 1 and the start of season 2 it suffered from "making it up as we go along" syndrome (for instance they tried to shoehorn in the events of season 1 having a greater overall significance in the S1 finale that just felt forced). Nothing turns me off more from a heavily serialized show than MIUAWGO syndrome as it exponentially increases the chances of the series ending with a very bad/unfulfilling conclusion.

Those are big shoes to fill. Don't think I've ever heard anything about the show that would convince me of this.

Forrest Gump is $9.99? Because you said you didn't use the Universal coupons right? Do you have the SKU on that?

EDIT: I assume since that was Haul 1 that it must have been on sale and I missed it, rats...

It was $9.99 last week.mit is a paramount film so the $3 universal coupon would have been invalid.

He also had Godfather listed incorrectly as well. It was a paramount release not universal...

Thanks for the ideas

So I was wondering how long are the BR coupons good for?

The Upgrade and Save ones are good through this Saturday. I assume that's what you mean.

And the Bridesmaids DC is expired if that's one you're looking for (says BR+DVD+DC on the site, but says BR+DVD on the real cover FYI). I was hoping they extended it. I mostly wanted to get tickets to movies I was going to see already, which pretty much made every Blu that had them free or extremely cheap, plus with most of them I can go during the more expensive times if I want (I normally go to matinees). So, win-win.

Tried to price adjust the Madagascar 1&2 BDs I bought at full price last week with no luck. Looks like BB changed SKUs when they added the movie cash. Now I'm out 2 more DVDs if I want the movie cash and lower price. Ridiculous.

What's the cash for? Madagascar 3?

I think so, but I didn't look too closely. Was more interested in getting the lower price than the movie cash.

Question.
I went the first day it started back up.
I brought in 5 DVDs, they gave me 5 coupons and a receipt that showed the 5 DVDs.
I only picked out 4 and the guy said I can come in at another time.
Can I use those 5 coupons or do I need bring in more?
Looking at the receipt/coupon combo, I have no idea how they can tell I have one more to give.

They should have originally given you 5 coupons to go with the receipt. Then, you would've given back 4 with your purchase, leaving 1 left.

If they didn't give you a coupon, you might have to talk to the manager or track down the original CS guy that helped you.

Other stores gave one coupon, though marked it with a (x5) or something like it.

Assuming the store had enough coupons, he should have received 5 with his trade-in, used up 4 of them with his purchase and have one left, which expires Saturday.
Do they take just about any DVD? Old ones will work? Never traded in before.
As long as it is in a case with the artwork, you should be fine.

No porn ;)

They gave me 5 coupons, and I still have them.
The register guy didn't take any coupons from the 4 I did buy.

It's not a scam, a coupon is a coupon in my eyes.

Take in the receipt they should have given you (not the one with the Blus you bought on it) and the five coupons and you can buy up to five with the promo. It only lasts through Saturday, though.

Had a solid score today.

Chuck S5 - $21.99 after coupon
House S7 - $12.99 after coupon
10 Things I Hate about you (I know the BR isn't stellar but didn't have the DVD either) - $4.99 after coupon
Dances with Wolves - $4.99 after coupon
Long Kiss Goodnight - $4.99 after coupon

I also had $10 off coupon that BB sent me as one of the stores in my area is closing so it was a sorry about that but please come shop in one of the other locations.

Final total ... $40 with the tax.

I was happy with it.

I still need to grab Apollo 13 and Fast Times with the Universal and Upgrade Coupons but I had forgotten my Universal coupons when I went today so I will need to go back (duh!).

Greg

Every store around me is out of stock on Breaking Bad blu (all seasons), found that kinda odd. I'll check again before Sat. I guess

This Upgrade and Save promotion was a nightmare leading to the worst shopping experience in my life.

Yesterday, I went in to Best Buy with my DBZ DVD with the intent on using the $5 off on the Wrestlemania 28 Blu Ray. I went to customer service and they accepted the DVD. I went to get the WM Blu Ray and there was one copy left. Unfortunately, it was in another guy's hands. I go back to customer service and had the lady check the backroom for more. Nothing. I asked her if she could call another store. She attempts to call and the phone rings and rings with no answer. I decided to go to another store and look for the Blu Ray myself even though it's been raining all day.

Store #2:

I find out that the store could no be reached by phone because they were without power for an hour due to the storm. I look for the Blu Ray and they have an entire display of Wrestlemania 28 DVD's and Blu Ray's (as opposed to the one space at Store #1). I pick one and get to the checkout to find out they can't give me the discount and I am sent to customer service. The woman there tells me it's because I was given the receipt without the $5 off coupon. Ok, this is my first time doing this and figured this was a little mistake so ...

Back to Store #1:

I pick up the coupon. She didn't understand why I needed one but I get it, anyone could bring in a receipt and keep getting $5 coupons. Anyway ...

Back to Store #2 (90 minutes have passed):

Customer service is holding the Blu Ray so I go there with receipt and coupon in hand ready to check out with the same person I talked to before.
Best Buy lady: "Where is your DVD"?
Me: "I traded it at the store I just came from."
Best Buy lady: "You can't get the discount unless you have the original DVD in your possession"
Me: "It's already been processed. It's on the receipt".
And she goes on to tell me that they can do an override using some computer code (which I had her write on my receipt) and how they have to protect themselves against scammers which means ...

Back to Store #1 ( 2 hours have passed):

It's still raining so I'm trying to keep the receipt and coupon dry under my shirt (by this point, the other employees are like "he's still here?") Customer service has another guy there who knows about the code ( I think it's OMS) and goes through the return process.

IT DOESN'T WORK due to this being promotional.

I attempt to call the other store as I was sick of this "he said, she said" ridiculousness (over a $5 coupon of all things) and he's trying to give me other options like buying a Blu Ray at the same price and returning it to Store #2 to exchange it with WM28. No way! I call on my phone and get a busy signal. The guy then tells me to call the Geek Squad side (which seemed to be the only people at customer service thinking about it) and they would pick up faster and I finally get to someone. I hand the phone to the guy and he explains what's going on. Finally, I get the name of the manager at Store #2 who will help me out. I ask him over and over if he's sure and he is positive that everything will work out.

Back to Store #2 ( 3 hours passed, still raining, and it's getting dark)

I talk to the security guy and asked for the manager who happened to walk by at the same time. The manager takes me to customer service next to the woman who gave me the hard time.

This leads to an argument between the manager AND the customer service woman where she is accusing me of scamming them. The manager said all I needed was the receipt and coupon and I would be fine. The manager apologized (the other person did not) and I FINALLY bought the Blu Ray. The manager offered to let me use the $5 coupon again but I was so exhausted and drained that I just wanted to go home.

On the way home, I'm thinking "Oh great, what happens if the discs don't work?" so I play them as soon as I get home. No problems at all.

Horrible, horrible experience that could have been avoided if:

1. I received the coupon the first time.
2. Store #1 had the Blu Ray in stock. In addition, I should have made sure they had it before I proceeded to do the trade (even though the coupon doesn't say "trades and purchases only at same store")
3. I ignored CS at Store #2, grabbed another WM28 blu ray, and went to the registers with the coupon and receipt in hand.
4. Used the $5 at Store #1 and trade in another DVD at Store #2.
5. Best Buy could have trained people who work customer service on how to honor something that's advertised in their own ad.

This whole thing has me scarred to the point where I don't feel comfortable walking into a Best Buy and buying anything. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but going to Wrestlemania and wanting to buy it on release day was a big deal to me.

Why didn't you just buy it at store number2 on your first rip for full price and then take it back to store number 1 and return it, and then it rebuy it using the coupon or having them just do a price adjustment?

Cage017,
Wow that sucks, hopefully the stores were semi close to each other if not all the driving around probably wasted more than the $5 dollar coupon savings =(
Just netflix'd a couple of the wwe documentaries last week. Pretty good stuff love the one about Brett the hitman hart vs Shawn Michaels and the epic spit on mcmahns face LOL

If the phone call went through and I got the coupon at the first store when I was there the first time, this definitely could have been avoided. By the time I tried to call Store #2, Store #1 was trying to get me to buy something else from them and do an exchange that way. I was in a "I want that and only that" mood. It also didn't help that I didn't eat for like 6 hours during this time.

It honestly took longer to get someone on the phone than the time it took to drive to each store and wait in line.

The stores were like 15 minutes apart but the drive was longer due to the rain. Still, Best Buy needs to improve on their customer service department.
Update: I just found out I'm RZsilver as of February. I called the RZsilver helpline and they said that it was ok to use both. They said call back during normal business hours and they'll talk to them for me, so I should be able to get Harry+Sally, Descendants, and the Universals to all work. I don't know if I'll go in tomorrow or Saturday.
Was Source Code on sale and I missed it? Because the website shows $24.99 for the BD and $10.99 for the DVD.
I forgot about Source Code, it was the other strange one. The Blu-Ray was stickered $24.99, the Best Buy exclusive Blu-Ray / DVD with lenticular slip cover was stickered $10.99. The Blu/DVD is a single disc flipper, if that matters to you.

It's absurd how many ways I've heard of this Upgrade and Save being handled by Best Buy.

Here are some ways I've seen it handled:

1.) You trade in a DVD and get a coupon
2.) You trade in a DVD and get a coupon and a receipt
3.) You trade in a DVD and you get a receipt
4.) You don't get a coupon or receipt, and must do the trade and buy at the same time

That's poor service if I ever heard it, and sadly this is the second go of this and they still can't train their workers a universal standardized way of handling the trade-ins. If the CS knew what they were doing, Cage wouldn't have had to go through any of the bullshit that he went through.

He would've:

1.) Gotten the receipt and coupon at store 1
2.) Gone to store 2, bought the Blu with the coupon
3.) Done

It's actually the third time. I was told they did this in October as well.

I've been through all four of those, though #4 was just to save coupons and I got a coupon (brought in 4, only bought 3) as I left.
