I dont want to read through 69 pages of:

" oh sounds like B.S." "im going use my mcDonald's coupon because im a fatass!" etc.

So 9-12 is here is this deal legit? How accurate is the list posted? And is it like that Toyrus deal where you need to make a sales transaction in order to get the discount?

It is legit and you have to make a transaction to get the discount because "not" making a transaction means you didn't buy anything. :)

It is partially legit. And at my BB they were marking down the prices on the separating tabs in the bins with new stickers. Most BBs probably won't have half the games listed, and a lot of the ones that are on the list at $4.99 are actually $9.99. There are still some good deals possible, so I'd go for it. :bouncy:

hoofrog is lying, the whole list is BS, don't waste the trip to Best Buy. Let all the other suckers who go find out the hard way that it's fake, while you and me sit here and wait for the REAL clearance sale...

The list and the sale are legit, some of the prices may be different, ($4.99 games listed on sale at $9.99) and the availability of the games in your area may differ, but it is still legit.

I was charged $9.99 for MGS:TS instead of $4.99, but every other price seemed correct. They had a few more $9.99 titles, but the selection at my two local Best Buys was pretty sparse.

remember the toys r. us fifty percent ordeal where it wouldnt register the discount on a price check, yet when you went to the transaction screen it would discount it.

My Best Buy did not have anything! Someone must have raided it on Sunday or the workers took everything. Glad I placed a small order at 4am this morning.

I hit up two Best Buys, and had several of the on-list titles scanned. (Although not much of what I was particularly looking for.) They did not come up at the discount price.

Their selection was weak, anyway. If they had bins or something, I certainly couldn't find them, and someone else I had along couldn't either.

I'm sorry but your a freaking idiot. This topic is obviously going to be locked and why the hell would Cheapy put the deal on the front page if it wasnt "legit"

ITS LEGIT. I picked up 7 games at my local BB this morning. 6 of them rang up 9.99 but they adjusted the price BECAUSE THEY DID NOT PUT THE NEW PRICES IN THE SYSTEM YET (I posted this on the main thread). This BB (Wilmington, Delaware) was very nice to me. They only had 9 titles in stock (but the 7 I picked only had 2 left -1 the one I got or none left after I received my copy).

I got:

Y's ...it was priced right at 9.99

The others rang up 9.99 but they had no problem adjusting the price to 4.99. They recognized the sale and apologized for the inconvenience (which only took a minute or two to adjust...no big deal to me).

Others (all Xbox)
Outlaw Golf 2
Incredibles
High Rollers Casino
Ghost Recon: Island Thunder
Spyro
Intellivision Lives (correction...this was for Cube)

Other 2 titles (OOS only had 1 left but were taken by someone when I was there) were THUG (Cube) and Paper Mario (Cube)

So basically the deal is legit , except most of the $4.99 list is reading as $9.99?

Did anyone pickup or see Dynasty Warriors 4?

Can you tell me the price you saw please?

I really didn't look at the prices when I grabbed the games. I just assumed I would do a price check at the register. When I saw the 4.99 games were scanning at 9.99, I told the person at the register and one of the game department employees came and confirmed that they should have been 4.99 but were not in the system yet.

I got "Twin Snakes" and "A Link To The Past" on their site circa 2:30 A.M. EST last night/this morning, and both were $9.99. As I understand it, they're two games easily worth a ten-spot each (even if I beat MGS on the PS1 years ago). Thanks to those who made this knowledge easily available. I hope others can take even greater advantage of this before the less-than-scrupulous do. Let's hope that BB's warehouse has the supply to fulfill my order (all two games!).

I found it really funny that "Catwoman" was listed for $0.99 on bestbuy.com but was already sold out, while many better games priced at $4.99 or $9.99 were not. 99 cent 'menu items'...even when they're really, really bad, they're still pretty good, hunh?

There were a lot of games that I THOUGHT I got good deals on weeks ago that I could've had for less than half what I ended up paying. "The gamer has no patience. I cannot teach him...the ways of The Cheap." I will learn, I'm not afraid to wait from now on. "You will be...you WILL be."

I checked out a Best Buy in Portland at 10:00 a.m. this morning, and they only had Paper Mario (which was marked 49.99 and rang up for 9.99).

I asked an associate, and got told that they had pulled all the games on clearance to relabel. No, he didn't know when they would be put back out. No, I could not see the games.

So I was a might bit ticked off, they had the games, they knew they were on clearance, they would have rung up at clearance price anyway, but they weren't going to do a damn thing about it.

I was ticked, especially because I knew they had ones I wanted in the back.

The following all rang up $9.99 for me:
Spyro: A Hero's Tail (GCN)
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent (GCN)
Ms Pacman Maze Madness (GBA)
Astro Boy (GBA)

According to the "list", all should have been $4.99. How could I have gotten them to mark them down to $4.99?

I even checked the new price stickers that the employee was putting out , and they had the higher prices.

Totally legit. Went today. The only sale games I found were Star Wars: Starfighter for .99 and Bloodrayne 2 for 9.99. Yager had sold out, but its price card said .99.

The clerk told me they hadn't gotten a full official list yet. More price drops may be coming later in the week. I'm going back Wednesday and diving around to find more games.

BTW, Mortal Kombat: SE? Sld out at Best Buy.com at 9.99. Thanks for nothing!

The sale is legit. Some games marked $4.99 on the list are actually $9.99 in store. A lot of games were available online last night. Some got in on them, some didn't. As always the case with a clearance, it's extremely YMMV. These are game BB is trying to get rid of and the information has been posted on numerous sites. You're not the only one going to your Best Buy looking for that copy of Y's and Growlanser.
