Don't care that the saves from the vanilla Saints Row won't work with the Full Package.
I'll gladly play through this game again. It was a blast.
Is this confirmed that it does NOT work on the 360, particularly if you still have the vanilla game disc and just install the new GOTY DLC disc?
I would really like to know if the achievements/trophies stack as well!
Pretty sure they do not stack. The game was so much fun, I completed the achievements and now I'm playing it again on PS3. :D
Unfortunately they only price matched for XBox 360. No PS3 love.
I think its due to BB selling out of the PS3 version online.
FYI for anyone who wanted that UDraw tablet + game DotD for $10 a few days ago, it's back to that price again. Presumably all week.

EDIT: Here's the link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/uDraw+GameTablet+with+uDraw+Studio%3A+Instant+Artist+-+PlayStation+3/3230277.p?id=1218388103628&skuId=3230277

EDIT #2: All uDraw games for all systems are on sale for $9.99
Apparently the PS3 tablets sell online for ridiculous amounts and the 360 one for less than that, but still flippable if you so desire.
Sorry, the save issue I mentioned was on the PS3 version, I don't know how the 360 version handles that. And on the PS3, the DLC is on disk and does not install (not that I noticed anyway).
Do we have any confirmation on this for the 360 version? Literally the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger.
Do you have to play 1 & 2 to know what is going in on 3?
Not really. It's the same cast of characters with you as the main part of your crew minus the ones newly introduced for the sections where they have a beef with the boss of that gang (Hogan voicing the disgraced luchador, the FBI cyber crime woman, etc.) and you might not feel particularly close to the repeat characters but by no means is this ME or AC where you'll be completely lost.

Closest example I can think of is Uncharted series. You can pick up 3 and have a great time with it w/o previous game knowledge, but you get more (less in Saints Row but trying to come up with an example) if you're familiar with the other two games.

So I picked this up on Black Friday as I loved it when I borrowed it and needed a few trophies for platinum-
So I can confirm that the save of vanilla version does not work for the full package-and sadly the trophies work off of the vanilla version which sucks since the save won't work. As for DLC I believe it was all on disk- I don't remember having to install it- it unlocked all the extras after like the first few story missions.

Totally worth 25 for the core game- dlc is alright- just more missions and trophies basically.

If it wasn't obvious- I got ps3 version
Thanks for the information. I was assuming the PS3 version would be rechargeable like the controllers and connect through blu-tooth. Batteries are kind-of a bummer but not a deal breaker.
You're welcome. Like you I was also hoping it was rechargeable directly through the console, but not. Still had great fun with this thing. Finished Marvel Superheroes and recommend a romp through that title.

Now back to Saints... out of stock at my nearest store, but no matter. Ordered one with ship to store. Not in a rush for this title, but definitely wanted it at this price since I doubt I will it at this level for a while.

I passed when Bestbuy had it at this price a couple weeks back and got it for 10 at Microsoft Store instead for the vanilla...even with a 50% sale on Xbox Live, I'd probably still spend more for all the DLC since I think the Season Pass is only for the three packs, right?
Hitman I asked that last night and still don't know the answer.
Well I'll say it again, my original save file worked fine with the Full Package edition on the 360. I hadn't played since last year and I was able to continue right where I left off. Probably because on the 360 you get a 2nd disc which installs all the DLC onto your hard drive, as opposed to the PS3 where it's all one on disc.

Thank you. I own the CE and am not getting rid of it, so I'll just borrow the DLC disc from a friend.

screw it, just going to buy it...if my original save doesn't work the game is fun enough for a second play through

Thanks for the info. If it had a separate set of achievements like Batman I would have rebought it in a heartbeat. Not really worth it for me to buy now since I have all the achievements(DLC included)

great price for a good game and decent DLC. got it for $30 near release and got dlc half off and was more than satisfied with my purchase.
May be a stupid question but how do you access the DLC missions? Picked this up on BF and almost done with story missions.
They show up as new missions on your cell phone. IIRC they are given by Tammy Tolliver, Andy Zhen, and Jimmy Torbitson.

Thanks, I never paid attention to those. Always just click on the top ones.
For those who have the Xbox 360 version, is the DLC on the disc or via download codes?

Thanks in advance.
Others in this thread already have the answers you were looking for.
Others in this thread already have the answers you were looking for.
A simple "yes" would have sufficed. Considering the thread is over 300 pages and I personally did not see it after reading a few pages, I figured I would just ask. Thanks for letting me know though.

For those who want to know:

PS3 has all content on 1 disc
Xbox 360 has 2 discs (1 DLC, 1 Game)

Ugh... I hate it when the saves don't work but the trophies sync up. You basically have to re-do all the work but don't get any rewards.:whistle2:x I loved SR3, but I already put a lot of hours into the game only a year ago and can't really afford to do it all again.

I already sold my regular copy because I figured the saves would be compatible. Figures, THQ does a half assed job since they're broke I guess. And apparently, it doesn't include the Bloodsuckers pack or the Unlock pack (have no idea what they are).
Thanks OP! Had my Mother n Law pick this up for our 14yr old for Christmas. She never knows what to get, so I made it simple lol.
Wow, idk about a 14yr old playing this game. That's just me, I let my 13yr old play COD and Assassins Creed series but not this.
Wow, idk about a 14yr old playing this game. That's just me, I let my 13yr old play COD and Assassins Creed series but not this.
I know a 15 y/o playing this. He has played SR1 and 2 as well. It may be a little too mature, bt depending on the kid, it should be fine.

I was going to bite until I read about the save file thing (thanks for the heads up btw.) Going to just stick with the vanilla copy and borrow a complete edition from a friend for the DLC, with my lack of gaming time as is and the amount of hours I've sank into SR3, I just can't bring myself to redo it all over again.

Yeah, he has played SR1 and SR2. He actually owned this on the PS3, but it was traded off some months ago. I figured with the DLC, he could relive it again so to speak.

That's me as well, AC is my 13 year old daughters favorite franchise, and I don't sensor much, but I drew the line at SR & GTA. That line was drawn with the first SR I think, when there was a mission to drive a prostitute around while she serviced her clients in the back or something similar.

my 8 year old plays sr3, its great. he laughs a shitton.

soooo....killing and stabbing is totally cool for your daughter, but driving a prostitute is not. odd that we live in such a world that glorifies violence, but sex is taboo. sex should be something very open like in europe, as violence is highest in america. id rather our country have a lot more sex than shooting and stabbing.

My tax dollars aren't happy with either.

Thanks for the Saints Row deal, and all the info. I bought the vanilla 360 version for $13 in the GameFly sale a month ago, I just ordered the Complete Package from Amazon since they matched BB. I'll get the DLC off the second disc, then trade it in for $25+ thanks to Gamestop's trade in promo.
Can anyone confirm if SR3 full package DLC for the PS3 are all on the Disc? Or is there a voucher to redeem them?
It's on said disk.

Great price! I went ahead and snagged the PS3 version for my 3-year old. He's really mature for his age, though, and he's been bugging me to play it. Since it's not available for him to play on his Wii-U, I went ahead and caved for a cheap, surprise stocking stuffer, to go along with the Cars diecasts and Thomas trains!
