Hmm, I'm still really on the fence with this. I loved the game and I would want to play through it again sometime in the future. I love the challenge maps too, and I own all the DLC on the PS3. My main issue is that 29.99 seems to be the new MSRP, it's even that price on PSN. However, I was thinking that since I own all the DLC already, if I could somehow manage to snag a copy with the Robin DLC already, I could sell that and the Catwoman DLC to offset the cost of this...

The GOTY edition has the content installed from disc ... it's not downloadable. In the 360 version, the only download code you'll get is the "Batman - Year One" movie.
Technically you were able to get it twice for $10 at BB by stacking an @Gamer $20 off coupon in conjunction with a $29.99 sale price. So the vanilla edition of this game HAS been cheaper at BB NEW.:)
I dont know nothing about stacking a gamer $20 of coupon and so do many other people. The other person was talking about it costs $20 on ebay, I checked prices on ebay - and cheapest price on ebay for a NEW copy is $31.99 shipped.
So again I repeat, $19.99 is a deal.

Yep. Always compare to current value.

In the PSN gamesharing thread, someone is selling Batman Arkham City including all the DLC for $20. So if anyone wants a GOTY version for $20, that's the lowest I've seen.

doubt it includes the harley quinn dlc, which is included on the goty disc or sold separately on psn

What I was referring to is that the vanilla comes with the Catwoman DLC code by default and some BB's still have the Robin DLC code included with their vanillas from when it was a preorder bonus. I actually saw one today for 360, if anyone was wondering if those were still around. Sold out of PS3s at my local store and since I was on the fence in the first place, I figure having to go out of my way is a sign. :p
Yep. Always compare to current value.

IATCG likes to jump in his time machine and tell people deals they could have gotten in the past.
I just don't know how so many CAG"s missed the $10 deal not once but twice since it ran for 2 whole weeks & was posted very early prior to them going live. Even the BB hate squad people they refused to "pay for coupons" why pay even more now than then for principal?
No free shipping? That's weak
There's a free entertainment shipping link floating on CAG.
Nice deal, did anybody get that email about max payne 2?
Get Max Payne 3, now only $39.99
The battle continues in Brazil, complete with cutting-edge cinematic action and new features. Get it for Xbox 360 and PS3, now only $39.99.
Reward Zone Coupon Deducts $20 off Max Payne 2
You mean the one from this thread w/"$20 off Max Payne 3" in the title on the 1st page
http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-Buy-IdeaX/Past-Due-Show-Love-for-PC-Gamers/idi-p/528964
No free shipping ??
free entertainment shipping link is on CAG,. Someone can post it I don't have it on hand since I'm silver I've never needed it.
Mental note - don't buy on release day if I know it will be sitting on backlog long enough for it to drop to $20.... sigh.
Those be the brakes some tiimes but please tell me you at least got $20 credit for it day 1. Not to mention you could've flipped it to GS for $28 then re-bought it @ BB for $10 using the @gamer coupon. Follow CAG your day 1 purchases will be "protected"
What?! I though DoTD was online only. I didn't know I could just walked into BestBuy and buy it for the sale price...

All of those games I could have bought...
wow, where you just checking the threads with the games you liked? If so, didn't see people say they went in-store to grab _____ & there ____ # of copies left.
I don't show it in stores locally. I have to pay shipping. Is it still worth the vanilla addition for $24.xx?

Thanks in advance.
As always, depends on your backlog. If you've got some things to work through, hold off and you'll probably be able to get GOTY with Robin, Nightwing, and Quinn DLC for $30 pretty soon.

I agree. In fact, my advice would be to HOLD OFF, period.

I held off on buying the first one (Arkham Asylum) when it came out despite me being a Batman fan since I had too many games in the 'que'.

It ended up going GOTY. I got the GOTY version at BB for $19.99 later on.

So, being that this game is already GOTY, I fully expect it to drop to within this sale price range in the next couple of months.

Even if your not that patient, the GOTY will almost definitely hit the $29.99 price range sooner rather than later, and for an extra $10, getting extra stuff ON DISC is worth it.

Unless you've just got an itch to spend $20 on something.

Yeah, good point. My backlog is pretty big. Thanks to the both of you. I waited this long I can wait for the GOTY edition.

PMed Arkham City at Walmart and they had one more Arkham City/Arkham Asylum combo. Guy wasnt sure if i could PM it but a manager came over and confirmed it. AC/AA GOTY for 20 is a great deal.

Crap. Just got back from that zoo. lol

But, as I stated above, I am waiting for the GOTY edition. Now excuse me while I strap myself down so I won't buy it.

$25 after taxes & shipping. Great deal I guess, but not exceptional.
I think somewhere someday it'll be lower than that.
GF hopefully.

Obviously it was a better deal and maybe next time they won't pass up on a @gamer coupon deal.

However, the point is no one has a time machine so it doesn't make sense to cry over spilt deals.

I honestly think IATCG has a time machine the way he talks about old deals in every single thread

So wait, you're on CAG and have been on here longer than I have, yet you somehow missed the TWO times that BB had the game for $29.99 and you could've gotten it for $10 after the $20 off coupon from their @Gamer magazine, which made it a cheaper deal than today's DOTD?

I mean, I've missed deals before too, but there were huge threads dedicated to the @Gamer coupon deals. So they were kinda hard to miss.
Yep. Always compare to current value.

IATCG likes to jump in his time machine and tell people deals they could have gotten in the past.
That I do, but I do it only to put some perspective on a current deal. While I understand that not everybody on here is like you and I are and on here for 24/7(I leave my PC on and my browser connected to CAG), I gotta wonder how some folks missed the two prior BB deals with the @Gamer coupons for this game since the threads for the monthly coupon deals usually are first page staples most times.

Now if you'll excuse me, Doc needs the time machine back to go to the Old West.:D:booty:

"to put perspective" -- sure.

It seems to me you just love telling stories about deals you got or lost or made or how you got screwed by a manager, etc, etc.

"to put perspective" - if you really wanted to help other people, you'd tell them how to get the next deal, not talk about how you scored Game X for $4 back in march 2008.

So I might have to eat my words. I might get it there with free shipping. I am not really the one to pay for DLC unless I'm really into the game or it adds to the game in a huge way. I will probably never play the DLC for batman anyway.

Actually I do post deals every so often. I put the details out there and let the thread fail or succeed on it's own. If people ask questions bout stuff covered in the OP, I ignore em and/or let someone else answer them 20x.

But that's why I rarely post what I feel are deals anymore, since you gotta hold peoples' hands on here and show them how/where to get a deal multiple times even if you write a three page long dissertation like original post. Either that or you have a certain group who want the deal, but want it shipped free with a bar of gold to add enough value for their ridiculously cheap asses and will come in solely just to say 'not a deal due to shipping' or whatever other stupid reason they come up with to thread crap.

that wasn't my point. I've posted like 2 deals since I've been here. I don't care if you never post a deal.

my point is that when you talk about a deal that happened in the past that isn't reproduceable now, it's really not helpful at all. It just looks like you're bragging.
Crap. Just got back from that zoo. lol

If you can find the AC/AA bundle then grab it. Each game is worth atleast the $10.

Me personally want a AA GOTY on PS3, and i already have AC with the DLC so im gonna try to sell this bundle.

Anyone interested? lol.

My point was that the threads for the Arkham City $10 deals were frequently on the first page of the game deals forum for days/weeks at a clip. So I was just wondering how some folks on here missed out on those deals and letting them know that today's deal(and the eBay prices too) isn't that good of a deal by comparison.

I still don't understand how people missed the $10 deal, but like I said I guess some are only on here once every couple weeks or compared to some of us.

I actually picked up the two pack at launch, since that was a hell of a deal for what was then a new game. But the DLC for AC is kinda crap if you ask me. The only content I'm really interested in is the Catwoman DLC, since that adds to the storyline of the game. The rest are either challenge maps or the ability to play as X or Y character in place of Batman in the game.
^u didn't get the catwoman dlc when u bought the game new? i thought every copy came with it.

annnnnd: harley quinn's revenge -on the goty disc and on psn- adds more story.
Ironically enough, this is the worst DLC of the litter, and I'm counting the pointless $5 skin pack. Without revealing anything, I thought it was rather boring and didn't add anything to the story. Unless you're into the challenge maps, none of the DLC is really worth it. But I absolutely love the challenge maps, so there's my Achilles heel. :x

Hopefully those challenge maps aren't as bad as the ones on one of the God Of War games last gen. I distinctly remember being very aggravated by the one level with satyrs. They had these big staffs and would pick you up with them and throw you off the platform and out into the open air surrounding it.

You ended up having to redo levels 1-6 of the challenges just to get back to that point and get thrown off again.:bomb:
LOL, the tiv for batman ac is going to plummet again like the last time with the gamers coupon
I'm kind of shocked to see it's still listed at $12 (+ 100% bonus) TIV. Abuse is expected.

I'm just waiting for a deal on the Nightwing and Robin DLCs to pop up. Then again I put the game down after beating the story and never was interested in the challenge maps for AA so maybe it's for the best I'm not buying extra, unplayed challenge maps.

Edit: Although just now when I was booting up my PS3 and seeing both the pile of games I have unplayed plus the PSN+ games I'm realizing how foolish it is of me to even assume I'll get around to playing the game again let alone why not trade it in now, re-buy it later in the future as the GOTY version even if I never play the challenge maps as long as the price is at least equal.

Money in my pocket now is always more valuable then money in the future, right?

The thing that made me mad about the GoW challenges is I've tried twice now and still can't beat the last challenge level. Both times I played for hours and came close to beat it but got knocked off. I will attempt it again because I would like get the Platinum eventually.

Anybody wanting Arkham City for PS3 for under 20 should check out Wal-Mart if you missed the 1 day BB sale. Arkham City is 19.96 every day priced at all 3 of the Wal-Mart store I checked out recently. It's in with the budget games. Not sure about the 360 version.

Nope, Arkham City for $19.96. It wouldn't make sense for Arkham City to be 50 when the GOTY version is 50. One WM I checked had about 15 copies of AC in the budget bin for 20. They may not have gotten around to marking them down at every store yet, but the new price is $19.96. Also some other games were dropped to $19.96 like N4S The Run.

it's been listed in the op for days..
The GOTY edition has the content installed from disc ... it's not downloadable. In the 360 version, the only download code you'll get is the "Batman - Year One" movie.
Is the GOTY disc required to access the content after it's installed, or can you use the vanilla version to play the add on's ala Fallout 3, Dragon Age UE, ect...
