I think my BB has probably 50 copies of JD3 for Wii on the shelf....it's crazy. This is a great game for your kids to play in the evening to wear them out before bed. lol

This is going to be a headache.
The woman on the phone with Best Buy said the two versions are the same. Which I am pretty sure is not correct.
I ended up calling the store I placed the order with and explained that I placed an order for the BBY Exclusive version but the email says it's the standard and asked which they have. She went and checked for me and said that it doesn't have any special markings but it is the same version and has the Katy Perry song. Never mind the fact that I have physically seen the different packaging of the BBY Exclusive version and that I had just specifically mentioned there should be extra Katy Perry songs in it, not just one.

I ended up calling a different BBY and was talking to the guy, mentioned Just Dance 3. and he said "Oh, the Katy Perry exclusive version?" Apparently he has 30 of them in-stock for 360.
So now to call the BBY hotline and see if they can change the store on the order.

But I still think I am going to get there and they will only have the standard version.
I'm going to end up on the phone forever on my way to the Iron Maiden show trying to get them to fill in order online for the sale price after it has ended because they can't get me the right copy of a game.

It is possible that they only have the one.
But I am 99% sure I have seen the BBY version before and it is designated at the top of the packaging as being exclusive and lists the bonus songs, just like the image on their website. The woman at the first Best Buy described a case with none of that.

I suppose the first printing for BBY could have had the markings and later prints could look normal. I'll find out soon.

The standard version will be tradeable in the future to amazon. With BB exclusives and different UPC, they might or might not take them. (And most likely not.)

(And no, I won't just walk into GS and steal their cover art or print out my own for the trade in -- I don't know what high quality color printers you guys have but mine won't even look real.)

If you're concerned about good-looking covers, get them printed at a FedEx Kinko's, Office Depot, etc. and they'll come out looking professional. Costs about a buck though, so that could eat into whatever meager trade-in value you'd get from the game.

I can confirm that Best Buy carries both the exclusive and standard edition. I ordered two for store pick up (at two different stores because of the 1 copy limit). Both stores had the standard ed. waiting for me and both times they tried to convince me that it was the same as the BBY exclusive, so I just had to go pull one off the shelf and show them the difference. They just gave me the right one and apologized, no problem.

Best Buy customer support claimed it was impossible since they only carried the exclusive edition, but I can verify the version I was shipped did not contain the Katy Perry extra songs. Apparently the standard edition and exclusive edition share the same sku, so they cannot verify which version they are shipping to customers.

They're lying. I got a vanilla (non katy perry) edition from bestbuy.com the last time the rang the sale.

I have noticed though that best buy occassionally uses a third party distributer to fulfill some of its orders---but that is usually only on games that are in the outlet center

Went in store today and they had no copies out on the floor. I asked a rep if they had it in stock by any chance and surprisingly they had one lone copy in store which was the Katy Perry edition and was nowhere to be found. Somehow it was at customer service and they let me have it. Also had two 5 dollar certificates that I used bringing the game down to 2.13 after tax. Not too shabby.

It's a Best Buy exclusive and I think the only way to get those songs. Good luck finding it anywhere besides Best Buy (or Amazon).
