Yes to the first, no to the second. That is all I will say ;).
Back during that big Best Buy clearance I had a few orders with items that had shipped and some that had been backordered. So get this, about 3 months after the sale they adjusted the price of one of the items that had already shipped UP to $10 (from $3 or so) and charged me the difference. The backordered items ended up getting cancelled later. I was able to straighten it out after a lengthy phone call and they couldn't explain why or how that happened. But stuff gets screwy at Best Buy when it is backordered. Since these were just single-item orders (for KH that is) I wouldn't think anything bizarre like that would happen. but you have to keep an eye on them (and your CC).
Aren't they supposed to notify you of any changes to an order to prevent exactly that from happening? Now I feel a bit paranoid, lol...
Aren't they supposed to notify you of any changes to an order to prevent exactly that from happening? Now I feel a bit paranoid, lol...
Well, it wasn't supposed to happen but it did (so they weren't even aware of it to notify me of anything). I mean, I don't think any retailer can ever change the price on something that you already paid for and they shipped 2+ months after the fact and then charge your CC the difference. But it was a fluke of the order still being "open" because of the backordered items combined with Best Buy's screwy system. I wouldn't worry too much about it - just wanted to let you guys know that things like that have happened.
Got my back order notification for Kingdom Hearts. Gonna let it sit there and see what happens. Hope I end up getting it.
Same here and also had Zelda OOT in the order...I can wait though...i beat Zelda OOT many times and really am not crazy to play another Kingdom Hearts right now....I do want to play through both someday though.
Target Priced matched for me. I even screen capped the online deal and she didnt even ask for it. $10.79 out of the door today was a good day....
MY target won't price match any sale prices, only regular

MY order got cancelled:"We're sorry, but the order you placed on May 16, 2013 has been canceled because we were unable to verify your information."

I paid with a 5 dollar cert and gift card balance. Do I get the points back? and how soon (it was canceled before I even got an order confirmation)?

Ditto.

I'm sure a deal like that would have been somewhat of a big deal considering Mario [and Luigi] titles never see that big of a discount (especially since the game came out in 2012 as well), even if it is "Black Friday".

I don't either, and I keep all the past BF data in an excel sheet.

These numbers appear to be “hard” data and not interpretation. However, members should reach their own conclusions.

That happened to me a few months ago as well. I ordered some items that were in stock and backordered and they raised the price of the backordered items to full price. I e-mailed them and they couldn't understand what I was trying to explain to them and they said the price that it was currently showing was the price it was ordered at even after I sent them a screen capture of my original order with the lower prices. I was getting ready to open a dispute with my credit card company but a couple days after that I got an automated e-mail saying I was being refunded for the difference and there was an error of being charged full price.

Only time to get it that cheap was a compound deal at best buy . You pricematched kmart (i think), and best buy had a buy 2 get $10 or $20 off deal going. Got NSMB2 and SML3D for like $26 or $28. That was the only way.

Oh so I wasn't high. That kind of deal doesn't even count and certain doesn't mean "everywhere".

Thanks for the clarification.

All sorts of conflicting info at this point. I do remember the compound deal which was highly YMMV.

From what I remember, the deal was PM to Kmart (making each game $29.99) and then BB's deal would take $20 off. My receipt history shows that I paid $19.99 each for NSMB2 and Paper Mario.

Yeah, no, that did not happen or I would own a copy - still don't have that game.

Hmmm - you will need to keep an eye on your RZ account as well. The other part of my (big Best Buy clearance game sale) story is that on another order (not the one where they bumped up the price of something I already had shipped) I used the big $100 RZ cert (for the preorder deals that fall) on one order. They shipped about half of that order and backordered and eventually cancelled the rest. I never got my RZ points refunded. Since yours was cancelled immediately it is more likely that they will automatically refund. Give it a few days and you should see them in your RZ account. If not, give them a call.

This is why I really try to avoid using gift cards or RZ certs online. I try to save those for in-store purchases where I know I will be walking out with the item immediately after purchase.
By 11am yesterday this was unavailable on line and all the stores in my area didn't seem to have copies.
Here's the chronology as far as I can recall it:

Game went on sale early at 10:30 or so PM (all times Pacific which is the only time zone that matters ;)). It sold out very quickly (by 11 or so) and was not available for store pickup at that time either (as in the option wasn't even there to check). At around 6am Pacific they restocked for shipping and "turned on" the store pickup option. Once again, it sold out (not sure how long that time as I was dead asleep). Then I think it came back briefly around 1:30 or so. And then for sure it came back at about 5pm as I ordered it then (that order is now backordered). It stuck around until 7 or 8 that time so there was plenty of time to get in on the "backorder" - we'll see if those ever ship though.

How does one tell if a game was repackaged? I feel like my copy of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance was repackaged now that I look it over in it's shrink.

Edit- Decided to open and there is no game. Am I able to exchange for an identical item or is there nothing I can do at this point?

15 days from purchase date and I would go back to that store specifically and try to explain the situation. The sooner the better.

Yeah I went in and explained the situation today. They let me exchange except they had no copies on hand. Instead the gave me a refund. Whatever I guess.

In no rush to have game since no 3DS but, would have liked to have owned a copy to add to my collection KH games.

I would have asked if they could have added a note approved by the manager to get the game at a later date for the price.

Had the same thing happen to me a few months back. Bought Professor Layton and The Miracle Mask when it was on sale for $15 I think. Got home and opened it with no game inside.

Went back, BB had no other copy in stock. They had a manager run out to a different store during the week and grab me a copy.

Holy crap... now I think I should go get my copy from the mailbox and see if the game is in there.

Edit: So I got my game and it seems like it wasn't sealed by Best Buy I think.

Opened up my copy today. Everything's there (including the Club Nintendo Code) except the cards, which are nowhere to be found.

After hearing about the hassles that can happen in regards to BB back orders I decided to cancel mine tonight.
But before I canceled it, I noticed there no longer was an estimated arrival period. I doubt that was a good sign anyway.

got a backorder email... i figure i will let them cancel it like they did a couple psp games.. they gave me $10 codes for cancelling so i dont mind if they cancel

Are there supposed to be cards in it?

I didnt get cards when I bought it a year and a half ago

Werent the cards like first print only or something? My launch copy and a copy I got last year had them

Either way just go on the KH Wiki and they have all the Dream Eater cards you can just scan

Good to know, I'll just do that then. All I really knew was my friend has the cards and I don't, but he got the game a bit after release, so it was probably a first print thing. Luckily I'm not too concerned with having the physical cards as long as I can still get the benefits.

the preorder/first print version has a sticker on the case mentioning the AR cards. the upc is also different. I remember having to track one down last year/

is there a way to put your reward zone points on a gift card or anything? I have $150 worth of them with $40 worth expiring at the start of next month. I wanted to save them for a decent 3dsxl sale price or something.

I seem to recall there used to be a way with something called a pitch in card or something. Does anyone know a way i can save these certs? I dont want to blow $40 on nothing

i don't think you're able to put them onto a gift card (i heard they fixed that), but can't you buy something with the 40 and then return it and you get the points back with a new expiration date

What I recommend you do is first log into your account and change your settings so you are "banking points", that way the points never forcefully turn into certificates that you have to use within a certain timeframe. Once you have done that, try calling rewards zone if they would be able to change your certificates back into points form since you wish to bank them instead of being forced to buy something that you do not need just to spend the points. They were very friendly and reverted my reward certificates back into points without any complications.
I think you can put RZ cert toward a pith in card. Maybe someone else can clarify.
Nope. You can add Best Buy gift cards, but not RZ certs to a PIC.

Alright fellow CAGs, new deal for this week:

5/23 - :360: Halo 4 - $17.99 ($22 savings)

Meh, but I guess if you don't have it yet, it's a fairly good price.
