Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

And the game came smashed in a bubble mailer.....and I can't exchange it until they get it in stock Friday. So early delivery was bullshit lol.

You might be able to get them to swap it out today. I've had someone exchange a messed up steelbook movie that they got early before.

 
if your having an issue with points call them directly in the phone, anytime ive had issues they fixed it immediately sometimes with extra incentives.

Yup I always give them a week, if I dont get my $10 cert I call them and get it right away, I only had one issue when I called but it was some clueless lady that didnt know how preodering worked lol.

always keep your eye out for deals on the game you just got for price matchibg . if it's within 30 days you can get cash or credit back. if you get the right person they might apply gcu to your price match.

I called two separate Best Buy stores yesterday and neither would swap it for me. They said their inventory system won't allow them to do it. Really bummed as I wanted to play the game a couple days early too.

I MAY give them a call later today and see if they can make an exception.

EDIT: Yup no dice. They can't exchange the game until tomorrow.

I decided to check my rewards before heading to bed and noticed my Madden points finally posted. Just 20 days after picking it up.

 
Finally got my Madden points today. My 2k18 bonus points are already pending though. That's how it should always work. After they clear I should have around $45 in certs. I'm going to use that on either the next bonus game or something like Evil Within 2.

Remember if you bank your points, either wait to get a cert for something you want or issue multiple smaller certs. One $95 cert might be harder to use, but if you had them in $10-$20 increments you could use as much as you wanted. You can use multiple certs on a purchase.
 
Finally got my Madden points as well. I got my Destiny 2 points a few days ago...so hopefully going forward it won't take so long for future games.

I might do Shadow of War since it includes a physical replica ring...was kinda teetering on that.

Looks like they had to do a special itemized entry to add the 500 Madden points. It's not listed under the actual purchase.

So, this is odd - my 2K18, pre-ordered about a month ago for store-pick up, is still on the 'processing' button - and on the 'order status' page, it shows up as 'out of stock'

 
I was planning on getting NBA 2k18 on Switch, but I just noticed it releases next month, not next week alongside the other versions. No thanks, might as well wait until BF for a deal there.

also, anyone know if there's a way to see what new games come of for pre-order on their site????

 
Ok, this is even more odd, to my benefit - my Madden points were posted under the order itself and shows 500.

Additionally, there's a 'Issued Points' that states 'Madden 500 Points Bonus' that shows 500 - meaning I received 1,000 points ($20) for my single order of Madden

I can confirm this is reflected on both of my BB accounts

I havent run into that issue yet knock on wood; sonic mania and 2k18(today) both showed up on time.

already got my 500 bonus points for 2k18 same day it shipped I think thats a first for best buy.

You usually have a "Included free:" text in green on the right on the product page (and sometimes in search results), and the description usually mentions it.

As far as shipping, when did you pre-order? To get release date you usually need to order at least a week in advance. Beyond that it tends to get iffy if you actually get it on the release date. I usually do store pick up if I am anxious and waited too long.

If I pre-order well in advance, I almost always get things on time, and in some cases a day ahead (I did with Uncharted: Lost Legacy, which was wasted because I didn't have an opportunity to play it early). I know some people started getting Metroid stuff (game and/or Amiibo) yesterday. I think mine it out for delivery now.

Hmm mine did not. I just have the 500 points outside of the points for Madden itself. Maybe I'll get bonus points at some point in the order itself but I doubt it. Whatever though I'm just happy to finally have them. Might pick up everybody's golf.

Never question free points.

Late last year, I swapped two hard drives for new ones using my warranty plan at BBY. Come to find out, they credited me back over $150 in points based on the return because they had it listed as two returns since I used $75 in points to buy them originally.

Just checked. Got a double bonus as well. Awesome.

My initial 500pts came through within 4 hours after pickup. This extra 500pts came through sometime within last 2 days since I checked.

Same here, my points were posted separately from the order. I'm glad I have them now, but seeing others get it twice makes me want it twice as well lol

 
Can I get another $10 for pre-ordering on another platform? I already bought Destiny on PS4 and would like to get it on PC if I get another $10.

Just wanted to give an update. I didn’t get the Madden points by day 22. Called and got a point adjustment for the 500 pts. My account said “Gamers Club: Points Adjustment”

The next day “Madden points” for 500 pts appeared on my account. Looks like I got a free 500 points :)

Sorry if this is a dumb question but: I have the Switch version of NBA 2K18 on preorder to get the $10 bonus. However, I am reading reviews and such about the switch version and I want to change it to PS4. Can I apply my preorder to the PS4 version? Will I lose my $10 bonus if I do?

I don't think you can do that. Considering the game came out about two weeks ago on PS4, I'm pretty sure you won't receive pre-order points if you cancel that order. Not sure how it works if you exchanged it once you get the Switch version, but I'm would say that that wouldn't work either.

 
I pre-ordered Super Mario Odyssey back when the $10 certificate offer was announced, but looks like they've since added a collectible coin pre-order bonus. Do I need to cancel my existing order and place a new one for the bonus or will I be given it at pickup automatically? (Or will I simply need to ask for it at pickup?)

According to bestbuy, you don’t need to cancel, as all pre-orders will include the coin. If not, call and they’ll send a coin. In my case they ran out of a pre order item once, so they just credited me $10, which I preferred.
 
Still no sign of my NBA 2K18 points, which was shipped to me 21 days ago. Guess I’ll have to contact customer support again - maybe I’ll get double points again :)

I had trouble with the gold edition. It showed up in my purchase history, but not my rewards history (not even regular, elite, or standard GCU points). It was simple to fix it.

Also happened with a movie preorder that had $5 back.

I pre-ordered Destiny 2 and I still have not gotten my $10 reward on my account. I picked it up from the store if that means anything.

There are tons of complaints on their forums from people that preordered Destiny 2 and didn't get the points. Supposedly they are investigating, but it has been a week and I have followed up multiple times and they claim they are still working on it.
