Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

I do know that sometimes they have the steelbook already available in store when you preorder you just take on, at least that's how it used to be. Has anyone seen them or preordered in store and picked one up?

All I remember is a lot of complaints about not getting it with preorders even though it was listed on the order. I got two because I pre-order xb1 and PS4 editions, sold one steelbook for $45... Doesn't seem to me that stores got it, at least not equally across regions or the right time

When a game gets the $10 rewards bonus, does that bonus offer stay available until the game comes out or is it limited time? Wondering if there's time to put off the preorder and think about it or should I just order first and think later?

For those with elite plus. Black ops 4 is on sale at Amazon for 39.99. Since bestbuy has it for 44.99 on black Friday. They probably wont match this. So its probably best to price match this and get 7.99 back.

They deduct the reward points from your balance and can even send it into a negative balance. For the gift card games, they charge you for the gift card and refund whatever is left after the $10 deduction from your return balance.

Calling them now to try get an adjustment, but I think they're swamped and I ended up with a B-Team associate who's trying to figure out how to do it. Chat is down too. Super annoying because when they aren't busy it's usually a 5 minute fix.

Chat didn't work, they couldnt look up order #, told me to call 888# so I will try that.

Update- went into store and they PM the target price for 29.99. If you used the coupon then you might have some trouble. In the end after explaining they had to PM at 19.99, so got a little over $19 back.

Best Buy added the silver coin to my previous order of SSB Ultimate Special Edition.  So game, plus coin, plus $10 cert, plus GCU discount.  Sweet.

Same here. I actually thought it was a cancellation at first so I was pretty upset but as I started to read I was really glad it was just a added bonus.
 
The struggle is real. Since I got the PC version, I'd only be able to get $8 back rather than PM it to Target for a refund because PC isn't on sale there. Then, if I decided to swap for PS4 instead to get the Target price (and steelbook this time, didn't realize they'd not send one with PC : \) I'd lose the $10 bonus reward, putting me right back in the same position of only getting $8 back if I asked for a refund on the difference for PC.

And for me, at the end of the day I'm still not sure I'll get around to playing BFV given there has been zero buzz around it and we're getting ourselves a Switch for Christmas. Think I'll just return it and call it a day lol.

 
Anyone else that PM'd BFV notice that they have a -500 pts from the preorder in RZ account.  I just emailed to have them fix it.

With the extended return period for the holidays, you could always hold off and see if it drops even further before mid January. I decided to wait on price-matching my PC copy in the hopes it'll hit $30 pre-GCU, so I can get it at $24 plus the $10 certificate. The game is actually really fun, in my opinion, if you enjoy the Battlefield formula.

I ended up doing a Target run when they had PS4 for $30 and the 20% off coupon worked. If it drops lower at BB, oh well. I still might return the PS4 copy, IDK.

First, check this list for anything you think you'll want.

Then look through this list and see if there's anything you want.

If there's nothing on either of those lists you want, then you should be ready to send your GCU to that great Farm In Another State where pets go when they get too old. Don't worry, your GCU will be able to run and frolic with everybody elses. And he'll be waiting there for you, when you get older.

You will only get one per game per account, and that includes other consoles (you will get one total if you order for XB1 and PS4, for example).

You can get more for different games, however (like pre-ordering Smash Bros. and Kingdom Hearts will get you two).

Each different game is considered a different promotion, and each account can participate in a promotion only once.

 
Anyone know if the $10 applies to all versions of Just Cause?

The $10 only shows up next to the vanilla version but not the gold version. I want to get the gold version as a last hurrah for my GCU but would also like to get that gift certificate.

Gold was released today, so that promo doesn't apply to it anymore.

2 weeks. You should have 500 'pending' points if you look at your rewards. Takes 2 weeks for them to convert to usable points. I have 500 pending from Just Cause 4 right now, and was the same for other games with this promo

Looks like I didn't get my $10 reward (500 points) and pre order coin from bestbuy. My account only posted the points for the game without the pre order points and there's no 500 points pending. Who do I contact for all these errors? IS it best to go through the bestbuy gaming support forum or email them directly?

Has anybody that preordered SSB to be delivered, UPS tracking info been updated? They sent me a tracking # last Wednesday but it’s never been updated, still says initiated. I just chatted with BB and they are positive it’s coming today but I have doubts.

I'm in the same boat as you - no pending points yet despite usually getting some whenever the game posts in your Rewards section. I will give it 2 weeks and then shoot them an email if I'm still waiting.

I ordered the SSB CE and one thing I noticed the last several days was that the "$10 Reward Eligible" notice was removed from that listing compared to the other listings. I definitely remember it being on there though. It will be interesting to see if people that ordered the standard edition get their 500 bonus points pending right away.

 
Crap, wife emails me this morning and says your son wants smash bros for switch, really, couldn't have told me last night!
