No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Yup you guys are right.  I see it in Chrome but not FF.

Sad times as its ending soon.

Also because Best Buy never fixed the incorrect end date of my sub way back when they had errors. This was when it cost like $100 to sub.

I have up on caring after the cheap deals for GCU but now it sucks lol. Should have had it for a little longer

Whats funny is I would gladly pay I think it was $100 or $200 now for the subscription, although the $30 was amazing.

Thanks for the reminder. I am only $39 short of making Elite status again. Sadly the Best Buy close to my jobs closed Saturday. [emoji24] I went to it on Saturday to say good bye and to what was left of the store. That Best Buy was my go to Best Buy when I was a kid. There are 2 other close Best Buy’s but I normally don’t go to that side of the city but once a week when I go to my main AMC so shipping will be main shopping method versus in store pickup. I used to swing by Best Buy on my way home from work and pick up my online order now I won’t have time to. I might have to have packages delivered to work again so I don’t have to go to my apartments office during their business hours which is when I am normally at work or getting ready for work.

Sure, but it doesn't really work that way. Usually, it starts counting days from whenever you preordered, as long as it was at least two weeks in advance of release. In the past, if it didn't at least show pending, it meant you weren't getting it unless you called customer service.

I've had it work both ways depending on the game. The bottom line is CS will tell you to wait the 20 days and contact them if you haven't received it at that time.

This. No sense in even contacting them before 20 days as all that will do is infuriate you more.
Also, I read on BB gaming forum someone had posted just this thing. CS response is that "some" My Best Buy members received an email with the promo and if you did, you're eligible for the 10 dollar reward. So there may be somewhat of a struggle, so I recommend seeing if you (a) got the email, or (b) have a screenshot of the 10 dollar reward screen showing LM3 as one of the games. Just something of a PSA for everyone I guess. Time will tell.
 
Pokemon probably gets a pass since they aren't exactly the same and have different titles. Not the same as people hoping they would get 2 certs if they bought something like Fallen Order for both PS4 and XB1.

I think on Best Buy it says 15-20 days, which is unfortunate, because I won't have time to make another pre-order from my Pokemon reward after GCU expires.

I preordered LM3 on the 28th, and today got the regular points for the purchase (15 days after ordering as usual), but have not gotten the 500 bonus points yet. In my past experiences with this promo, they post at the same time, so that's little worrying.

Really wanted to use the 10 extra dollars toward Astral chain which is on sale. But I don't want to risk the price going back up, so I ordered AC for 40. I'll give it until the end of the week and call BB for the extra 500 points. I'm sure I'll find something to use it for on BF.

Cyberpunk CE for the PS4 and XB1 is available for pre-order. I haven’t seen them up yet. I could be mistaken though. Either way, enjoy.

I want the PC version CE and still haven’t seen it listed yet.

You need to wait until 20 have passed. That's their rules and their forum guys stated they won't touch it until then. They insist all is well, but it really does feel like something is amiss here. Might have something to do with how late they offered it or something, but yeah they are usually there at least by when the points post (and usually listed on the order as pending as soon as it is picked up/ships). I'll wait until the 18th, then raise it if they don't appear. Judging from the forums, they are going to hear from ALOT of people - this one won't get swept under the rug.

They were up several months ago, then sold out. Looks like they got more stock for preorders.

Mine ended a week ago, but i hadn't used it to buy anything in almost a year, as money was tight. Got in on the spend $100, get a $25 gift card deal the week before as a last hurrah. Ended up dropping $80 on games that i figured weren't going on sale on BF, and have the card to spend on BF (when GCU wasn't applicable, outside of glitches). Not a bad take. Farewell, GCU; if BB ever sees fit to bring you back, they'll bring back a lot of my business with it.

I'm down to my last 10 days. Current preorders are Doom, FF7, Cyberpunk, Last of Us 2, and Utawarerumono prequel. I was going to wait on getting Death Stranding, but figured what the hell since the odds of it being less than 48 anytime soon are low.

Still might preorder more. Can always cancel later, just gotta figure out what I want. My game buying outside of those preorders I think will be MUCH lower next year. Cheers to the late GCU
 
I preordered  Cyberpunk, Doom Eternal, Star Wars Jedi, Darksider Genisys, Avengers, and stacked the 25% on The Last of US II Digital Edition.  I keep telling myself I shouldnt need to buy more already have a backlog, but we all know better.  Playing like 4 games right now (Death Stranding, Ghost Recon, NFS Heat, Sekira)

I have a backlog that would probably take me at least two years to get through under normal circumstances but I keep buying games anyway. I'm on vacation this week so I'm trying to knock out some quicker Platinums while also playing Death Stranding and getting Fallen Order on Friday. I guess at least gaming related addictions are some of the least troublesome you can have. :D

 
I just got a $10 reward certificate. It must be from Luigi though I never had it show pending. The only other certs I have coming would be Pokémon sword and shield. Shield shipped but I can’t believe it would be from that already. The email they send and the history don’t tell you what order it’s from.
 
stupid GCU is over for me.  Just realized it also killed bonus rewards points too.  Think I'm gonna just pout awhile before I feel like deal hunting again  :dunce:

This is the one thing I wondered about with regards to GCU. If I lose the bonus points from buying stuff there then I may as well cancel my credit card with Best Buy as well. I already planned on buying a lot less there when my GCU ran out, this change would make this decision with regards to my credit card even easier.
 
I think I got my points for Luigi's Mansion 3 today?

I had zero pending points earlier this week and enough for a $5 cert, and suddenly I got an email that I have an auto-issued $20 one. Nothing new showing up in transaction history.

Yeah I just got my Pokemon points along with my Jedi Fallen Order. I ordered both Pokemons but only received points for Sword, not Shield. Under my points for Sword, it says $10 preorder for Pokemon Sword and Shield. Hope this doesn't mean that it only qualifies for one of them.

My Pokemon double pack shipped and I got the bonus points literally minutes after that. I did not order Luigi's Mansion so it was definitely from the Double Pack. Check your Rewards History detail for Luigi's Mansion and it should show whether the points are pending or not. It will be in the history on the date you placed the preorder, not the date you were charged.

 
I'm also not sure if the $10 reward I got is from Luigi's Mansion 3 preorder or Pokemon. On the reward points page, it says 500 points for "Pokeman" but only 94 for Luigi.

I bought lm3 from BB as well. No 10 bucks yet however, iirc the promo was till the 9th and 15 days after that the points should hit so if they count weekends which I'm not sure they do, we are looking at 24th. So I'll wait till then before I shoot the mods on the forums a message. They usually take care of things pretty quickly.

Basically instantly after I got the email that they shipped.

My store has a sign that specifically says 9pm PST/12am EST (select stores only) for Pokemon but Star Wars might be 9pm in all time zones like some other games.

BTW my store got 850 copies of Pokemon. :shock:

It's 20 days after the day they shipped it. Not sure if it is business days, but I suspect not. I believe that means if it doesn't appear by the 22nd, you can send a message. They made it clear on the forums they will not be addressing any of them until that point. There is a chance they know there is a problem and it all sorts out by then, they are definitely aware of the issue (at least the moderators are, who knows how much influence they have over the backend data guys). I haven't heard of anyone having gotten the points yet from LM3, so I can't imagine they aren't doing anything about it yet. That's going to be a ton of fixing things on the 23rd if not.

One would think that when a game releases on the last day of the month it would be very easy to figure out 20 days later would be the 20th.

I'm pretty sure my total just jumped 500 points (probably LM3), but I don't see a line item in the history representing it.  Weird.
