I noticed a sign out front of my local Best Buy

The $14.99 titles highlighted in blue are cheaper in the DVD2BLU promotion for Warner Brothers (if you get the free shipping).

Nice, can you trade in any DVD? A couple on the list of BRs might not be a bad deal, Army of Darkness would come out to $9.99 after coupon, Robocop would be $4.99 after coupon.
can you use all the coupons you get towards one blu?
I was wondering that myself, but on Slickdeals, someone mentioned that you can only use one coupon per blu-ray.

One legitimate DVD for $5 toward one select Blu-ray.

Some good deals to be had, but the majority of the titles they have listed were actually cheaper not too long ago. For example, you could've bought Crazy Heart for $15 last month, but now you can give up one DVD and buy it for $15.

There's maybe a few on there I wouldn't mind getting, but it seems like more often than not Blus go on sale for >$5 off MSRP, so I'm not sure how much you gain - although dumping some DVDs isn't a bad thing :D

Wait, confused - is it any DVD you have laying around that you want to get rid of? ANY DVD? I've got old copies of DVD's just laying around, stuff like Rocky, Hitch, Wedding Crashers, etc.. would I get $5 off for each copy I bring in towards any of the Blu's on the list?

It says limit of five coupons per visit, does that mean I could get up to $25 off of a single Blu on the list, or $5 off of 5 movies?

BB's register system neuters the use of the same coupon twice (or more) on a single item, without manager's override.

hmmm, I have a box of about 15 DVDs double-dipped on Blu Ray..I just don't know if I can part with them..IDK, I may pass on this. However, I am going to trade in my first game today at BB, if the experience is pleasant, I might part with a few DVDs to pick a new BD up.

I've got a few straggler DVDs that are only fetching $0.01 on the Amazon marketplace, or are simply not accepted for trade-in deals due to being overstocked. This could be the perfect way to finally unload them. Thanks OP!

I'm compiling a list of prices on all these. I'll share once its complete. I'm probably going to totally abuse this on the $9.99 blus.
This deal sounds great. Someone should be a guinea pig and test it out and let us know how it goes.
Arcane has already done it with success. Posted about it in the Best Buy weekly ad topic for this week.

Added the price list, thanks FlamedLiquid! Also noticed there are about 6 movies on the list that are cheaper if ordered on DVD2BLU. I added a link to that thread in the OP.

Just wanted to add my name to the successes; I went in today with Million Dollar Hotel and Wicker Man, took them to the service counter and walked away less than a minute later with two $5 coupons. It was much quicker and easier than the video game trade-in since they don't even make you sign anything, the guy just opened the case to see if the DVD was in there and handed me the coupons.

I'd been wanting The Social Network so I went ahead and bought that.

If you're a member of swagbucks, they have a $3.00 off coupon for Moulin Rouge which brings the blu-ray down to $12.00 after the trade-in, so I got that too. The associate at the register plugged in the coupon with no problems.

I traded a couple old worthless snapcases, one being Austin Powers 2. Picked up 12 Monkeys and Robocop for $5 each.

A good deal, but be wary, as the 12 Monkeys disc itself was scratched severely on front and had fingerprints on back.... Returned it for another with the usual security sticker on the top, of which there were very few (and on opening the good one it also had a sales pamphlet inside missing on the first).

Consider checking these questionable "no security sticker" wrapped Blu-rays before leaving the store.

did this today with 3 dvds that i blind bought during the Hollywood Video closing sale but have not watched (when it got to $1 dvd's i got a little too crazy), picked up Office Space, Road House, and Justified Season 1 for $27.xx after tax...good deal in my opinion...i will probably be going back to trade in a few more...
You don't need to be a member of swagbucks to get the coupons:
Ah...oops. Well that's convenient then!
You don't need to be a member of swagbucks to get the coupons:
You DO get 10 swagbucks if you print the coupons from there and use them though if someone really wants to squeeze the most out of the deal, but the coupons are the exact same list as those on coupons.com and the FOX link.

Thanks for the updated list, some of these are pretty good. I already have a lot of the cheap good movies like Office Space and Goodfellas but this is a good way to get rid of old DVDs that have no value and nobody wants.

Off the top of my head Full Metal Jacket and others that are $10 and above after coupon are probably cheaper on the warner bros trade in provided you are getting a couple at a time for free shipping.

Might have to pull the trigger on Batman Begins and Clash of the Titans. Although, I'll kill myself when they both go for $5 come Black Friday.

Sorry to ask, but it's not very clear. I can trade in :dvd: Office Space and the coupon won't say $5 off only :br: Office Space will it? Already got it on bluray, would use it on some other bluray. Like I saw Resident Evil 1 & 2 :br: for $7.99, making them $2.99 blurays, would be awesome.

the coupon can only be used on the titles listed. It wont say you can only use it on Office Space. And you dont have to trade Office Space for Office Space. You can trade in any dvd as long as it isnt an adult/porn dvd or a pirated/burned dvd. pretty much the same rules as WB's DVD 2 Blu program. But you have to use the coupon on one of the blus listed. But c'mon theres over 100 there. Has to be one you want on that list.

Do we have any confirmation if it is $5 off of the current price (sales included), or is it $5 off of the original list price of the Blu? The few I'd be interested in fall into this category, for example I'd prefer Office Space or Donnie Darko on Blu for $4.99 as opposed to $11.99 (which would be more than its current sale price and therefore not much of a deal at all...).

In my case it was $5 off the current price, sales included. The two I bought were listed as on sale for $20 on the website but still labeled higher in the store. They both scanned for $20 and then the $5 coupons brought them down to $15 each. So yes, it's a good deal! :D

It should be off the current price because it would a major PR blunder to tell a customer that he or she can buy a Blu-ray on sale for $20, or buy it for $25 after giving the store a DVD.

I'm tempted to get a few of these coupons and hope that some of the higher prices Blus go on sale. I'd love to pick up Let Me In for $9.99 or lower.

However, Justified for $15 might have to be a blind buy for me. Just too good a price for a TV series (that I'm interested in) on Blu Ray.

Hmm interesting, I've always wanted to convert my Batman Begins DVD and Matrix Reloaded DVD purchases into Blurays. I got Die Hard 4 for my dad so I could convert that one with this deal too. Thanks for the heads up.

I love this deal. I bought Men in Black, Predator, and Pandorum all for 4.99/ea. My copy of Predator had movie cash, which was a nice bonus. Then I took MiB and Predator to Moviestop and did their trade 2 for 1 special on Suckerpunch BD/DVD Combo pack.

So thanks to this deal I spent 15 bucks and got a ticket to X-Men, Suckerpunch (when it comes out), and Pandorum.

I don't think I did too bad considering that a ticket to X-Men itself would cost 10-12 bucks by itself. :)

Wow!
I've been trying to unload a stack of DVDs for $5 each to re-buy some of them on BluRay and this deal is perfect for me! :D

Is there any limit to the number of DVDs you can trade in at once?
I know you can only use 5 coupons in one day, but does that mean we can only receive 5 coupons in one day too?

Do these coupons have an expiration date, can they be used in and Best Buy store? What about using them online?
Thanks, I have some DVDs I'd trade in but don't know if will find many blus that I'd wanna buy at the moment

Suckerpunch are let me down soooooo bad; change your pre-order!

TERRIBLE experience.

I get to the CS counter, one girl is working, phone literally rang every 10 seconds which she would have to go answer. After about 10 minutes of piddling around the computer crashed. Moved to another computer. Another 10 minutes and the first of the three DVD's I was trying to trade in was not eligible, Top Gun. 5 minutes later she was saying everything's "ringing up zero." At this point I said fuck it and left. I had to get to work and this girl was clearly making no progress.

What was I thinking, it's best-buy after all!

This is awesome, I have a ton of DVDs I'd like to get rid of. I saw it in the store the other day and I assumed it had to be the same DVD, now that I know it's any DVD it's even better.

She was probably trying to do a normal trade-in. I didn't think there were any exclusions with this deal as long as it was a commercially released DVD.

I mentioned to her I thought the website mentioned ANY retail DVD but "what do I know?" heh. It's probably unfair to blame the employee, I'm sure communication barriers and training problems abound.

Whatever. I'll try a different location next time.

This trade In deal is AWESOME!

Ended up trading in 5 DVD Video titles and getting these on Blu-ray Disc:
$15 Justified: The Complete First Season (If you're reading this and haven't seen this show, WTF is wrong with you? It's one of the best shows on cable, you NEED to get this for $15, seriously)
$5 Inside Man (FINALLY got to replace my HD-DVD copy)
$5 Donnie Darko (Been meaning to own this movie for a LONG time, finally got around to buying it, both the Theatrical and the Director's cuts are in this Blu-ray Disc set, Hellz Yeah!)
$5 Napoleon Dynamite
$5 Men In Black

Total: $38.xx

I just spent an hour with customer service due to issues that weren't my fault at all and I feel like I know this deal backwards and forwards.

This is a recycling program, not a trade-in program. The difference is that with this program, the SKU is a generic SKU. There are no exceptions (except for porn, so no-go for those of you wanting to trade in Super Squirtin' Hoes 43). When you bring them to CS, you should get a receipt that looks like this:

1030557 DVD TRADE-U 0.00
DVD TRADE-UP

You'll see that line for every DVD you bring in. In my case, there were five. Pick out what movies you want, have the cashier scan them, then the cashier either has to enter the SKU or scan the receipt. It must be scanned/the SKU must be entered for each movie you're getting.

I ended up also trading in 5 games to get a $99 giftcard and ended up getting 10 Blu's, including five of which that were just released today, for a total of $38.xx. Granted, I used trade-in credit not related to this thread, and I had a $15 RZ certificate, but it felt awesome to see the total drop from $19x.xxx to $16x.xx (after the DVD promotion), then down to $38.xx after scanning the giftcard and certificate.

Yeah, the whole process took about an hour, and no, they didn't need a picture or a fingerprint or anything, but YMMV depending on your state's laws about that stuff. I gladly waited in line because I knew I was getting a pretty good deal.

Took me maybe 5 minutes in and out of the store. Walked in. Guy at door asked if I was returning stuff. I told him I was trading in dvds, which they have a huge sign for in the entrance. He then placed little stickers on each of my dvds. I went back to the blurays, and got the movies I wanted to buy. went up to customer service and the cashier checked each of my dvds and printed off 1 coupon since I asked if I could buy the blurays up there. She then scanned in the blurays I was purchasing and then scanned the coupon 5 times.

ended up getting:

12 Monkeys
Napoleon Dynamite
Predator
The Terminator
Office Space

I do want to go again and get:

Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Men In Black
Donnie Darko
Justified
Inside Man

Those prices right on the first page? Like Cars is definitely $29.99 and Toy Story 3 is $34.99 on their website right now. I'd like to pick up some Disney flicks on the cheap if possible.
