Is this still available or is there another version around that gives $5 off a game? I have used them in the past but haven't seen any in the store for a while.

Probably, those were not WOW giftcards, they were GGC or Gamers Gift Card.

I haven't heard of those for years...

There was a brown WOW gift card that had a coupon on it for $5 off of a $19.99 game. Not the usual gamer gift card but worked the same way. I'm sure I've seen them within the last year. I guess there is nothing like that any more, then?
