Beatles White Album < Meet the Beatles

And Sum 41 > Nirvana
Grunge is overrated.
Nirvana's compilation self titled is not bad.

Oh yeah, System of a Down - Toxicity is bad IMO, except for Chop Suey and Aerials, maybe Prison Song.

Radiohead is just bad. I can't stand it. Meh.

EDIT: Jimi and Pink Floyd have albums better than all listed in this thread.
Sum 41 is just more recent.

This thread makes me very sad.

The White Album
We have a winner
agreed....some the choices make me cry.

there is no way in hell that Sum 41 is any where near better than Nirvana, this new alt metal thing they are trying sucks.

And i dont really have a favorite album of all time but i put Bury Your Dead just because ive been listening to it non-stop.

Audioslave-Audioslave

Korn- Freak on a Leash

Staind- Break the Cycle

Punk? Avril =/= punk
And the Ramones? Their CD self titled is horrible. I don't know who thinks the Ramones are good, but they suck. Same beat, every song.

Have you listened to their album (Chuck) yet?

EDIT: Oh yeah, don't listen to All Killer No Filler and Half Hour of Power
Those Sum 41 CDs are crap. Pure crap.
Does This Look Infected and Chuck are going towards that "alt metal", whatever you wanna call it, it's still rock.

Nirvana would be considered second rate if Kurt wouldn't have killed himself.

Says the guy who listens to Slayer

It's personal preference. Slayer is meh.

And if anybody here says Dillinger Escape Plan, I don't know what to say.
If you heard the CD Miss Machine, it's screaming. It's rock...sorta, I guess.

Comment on Dillinger's album anyone?
I don't really see this thing as rock...or music.
Good News for People who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse.

I haven't listened to a lot of albums in my short ife, but this one is pretty damn good.
Modest Mouse has a LOT of indie albums.
They're not bad, depending what you like. Lots of random quotes and stuff like that.

And I forgot Sublime.
Sublime self titled = great album
Anything from Zeppelin.
...I wouldn't say ANYTHING...

...Wait, yes I would.
Nothing Zeppelin makes is bad
Maybe because their concerts are 3-5 hours long

I don't have an absolutel favorite album, so I'll just go ahead and list the albums I can't or barely can find fault in.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (has it been said? i hope so)
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Air - Talkie Walkie
Air - Moon Safari
Craig Armstrong - As If To Nothing
BT - Movement in Still Life
Mingus Big Band - Live in Time
Godspeed, You Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Little Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
M83 - Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts
Sigur Ros - ()
Thievery Corporation - The Richest Man In Babylon

...yeah, so I cheated. I apologize :p

Their style is known as "math metal," and Calculating Infinity is way better than Miss Machine. Interesting band, they aren't easy to get into though but I think we can assume that they are not trying to appeal to most people.

Heavy Metal: anything up to the Black Album by Metallica

Hard Rock: Vivid by Living Colour

Rock: Anything from Queen

Guitar instrumental: Surfing with the Alien by Joe Satriani

Jass/Fusion: Atavachron by Allan Holdsworth

Soundtrack: Se7en by Howard Shore (unreleased... but I have a copy )

Comedy: Come Poop with Me by Triump the Insult Comic Dog

Classical: Beethoven's 9th Symphony by pretty much any capable orchestra

Classic Rock: Close to the Edge by Yes

Techno: The Fat of the Land by Prodigy

I'm a big fan of Terry Bradshaw's christmas album. I could listen to that for days, if I didn't have to sleep or poop.
the ramones bad?
Ramones are old school. Not that great though.
Go find the original recording for their first album. It's so bland. The riffs are all the same

It's pretty much impossible for me to say what THE definitive best album of all time is, here's a few picks that can contend for the title IMO.

The Beatles - Revolver
Bob Marley - Exodus
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

There's others, but I think those three stand above most for me.

As far as Beatles albums, I would have to go with 'Revolver.'

Also, noone has mentioned 'Pet Sounds,' Brian Wilson's pop masterpiece.

My personal choices would inclued New Order's 'Brotherhood' and Radiohead's 'OK Computer'

tool - ænima
nin - downward spiral
sevendust - animosity
soundgarden - superunknown
marilyn manson - antichrist superstar
live - throwing copper
stabbing westward - ungod
project 86 - project 86

Nirvana - Nevermind
Nirvana - Incesticide
The Offspring - Smash
Weezer - The Blue Album
Weezer - The Green Album
Sublime - Sublime
Nirvana - Unplugged In New York
and
Insane Clown Posse - Riddlebox

those are in no particular order, but albums I love
My Favorite: Toad the Wet Sprocket-Dulcinea

Come on now, Pale is Toad's best album. :D

As far as my favorite, hands down, Gentlemen by the Afghan Whigs.
