Better to sell as lots or individually?

I'm getting into a "less is best" attitude about my belongings and want to get rid of my stuff while this mindset lasts. Instead of throwing everything in a dumpster or leaving it on friends' doorsteps, I thought this time I'd see if I could make a few bucks with it. When selling off random DVDs and games in eBay, is it better to sell them as lots or individual pieces?

Scoping out other auctions it looks like lots of 20 or 40 go for $20 or $40 respectively. I'm fine with a buck each. But I also see auctions (like this) with a list of 20 items and you can pick which you want from the list for a set price. This seems like a good idea, but how much traffic do you get from this? If the auction title only says "Pick from this lot" those searching for a specific game or movie will not find it.

There are certainly pros and cons to each. But is one more effective than another?
