BioShock 2 Review - mudmed.com

CAGiversary!
Many hold the initial BioShock in a pantheon of classic games. Critics and gamers alike gushed over the narrative of Jack, Andrew Ryan, and Frank Fontain. The interwoven story lines and morally ambiguous motivations of the characters elevated storytelling for the entire medium. The conclusion of Jack’s story left no room, or need, for an appendix to the story of Rapture. This entirely self contained story needed a sequel as much as Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye or Orwell’s 1984. Yet, due to the immense financial success of BioShock, a return to the world of Rapture was all but guaranteed.
