Well the first ads are leaking, so I figured I would create the thread and get the party going. It is only 1 month way. As deals get added and flyers released, they will be added here.

5 dollar Bond movies was awesome.

Hopefully Amazon will match all the good deals, and I will be able to get all my ish from the comfort of my bigass PC chair

I'm hoping there is a deal on HBO sets again this year so I can pick up Generation Kill

Need to remember to stay up for Amazon's deals after midnight, good thing I work the morning after Thanksgiving too, as I'll have time to check out the deals in the morning as well.

Let's hope there's more to be had.

im new to online shopping for the most part but are the amazon deals real good? can i have an example from last year if possible?

Well, I know I might be hitting Sears first unless I see somewhere cheaper since they open at 4am and it is one the stores closest to my house.

From 4 am to Noon
$14.99 All Blu Ray
Crank 2
Transporter 3
Eagle Eye
Hancock
Selected others

I know they aren't the best deals but I want to get Crank 2 on the cheap and I already bought Transporter 3 at this price earlier this year.

Basically, Amazon pricematched every other deal that each of the major retailers had or had a price close to it.

For example, Bestbuy had all of the Entourge sets for $10 until Noon. Amazon had them online Thanksgiving Day night for the same price.

Bestbuy for example will have most of the stuff for Black Friday that's on sale all day available on www.bestbuy.com on Thanksgiving Day. Select doorbusters will be on there also.

Best thing is to shop early and know what you want before you get there. The reason why is that a lot of people will be doing the same thing you are and looking around may cost you the ability to get what you want.

Beware though that when you order that you really want the items cause some places won't let you cancel your order once you make it that day.

Eh, I was never much of a Bond fan.

The main things I'm looking for this year are an HDTV, blu-rays and television shows (DVD or blu).

Got all four DVD Box sets from Circuit City a couple of years ago for $16.99 each. That was nice!

We got 30 Blu-Rays at Amazon for around $180 including many of the Bond titles. We kept some, gave some away, and traded some other for better titles
Last year Amazon was freaking great. Hoping Amazon matches everything yet again.
I was working for Double Time plus Holliday pay for Triple time and my wife kept calling me about all the great Amazon deals.

This year I may not volunteer to work as I have during the first 16 years at my job. This year I may try to get a new 50" Plasma 1080P tv. I want one for under $1000. Another Panny would be awesome!

With the economy sucking so hard this year and with Consumer Confidence recently down, I am looking to sales before BF like never before. Hopefully we will see great deals before BF and on BF!

Tagging thread for future reference. Otherwise hoping to see some decent prices so I can add something new to my shelf.

We seriously need to organize a Black Friday squad. I know we have many employees at many retailers here that can get some good deals. I could help with anyone that wanted anything from Game Crazy (assuming the company's still around by then, lol), there's got to be some people working at retail stores that can help as well.

Not necessarily "Black Friday" per se, but for the last two years from the Day After Thanksgiving until about a week before Christmas, Best Buy has sold all of its HBO DVDs for 50% off. I bought The Wire Complete Series last year for about $80.

This year I am hoping they do the same so I can get The Sopranos Complete Series.

thats boss i hope they do it so i can get all the curb dvds for my mom

FYE will have all WWE DVDs at half price on Black Friday. This includes boxsets like the Wrestlemania & Summerslam Anthologies and Volumes if the store has them.

If I see any Best Buy deals from leaked ads, I would go there before black friday, buy them, and just go back on Black Friday sometime to CS and price match. Do any of you do the same?

JJ

I'm kind of itching for the DD25% thing before thanksgiving too. I always have a hard time deciding what to get because of hoping for better deals later though. I ordered a dozen or so BDs from Amazon last year, but I was disappointed with a lot of their deals because of the selection. They had that one offer going where you saved a ton if you bought like 10 BDs, but none of them were what I wanted. It was mostly Bond movies, and I'm still pissed Goldeneye hasn't gone Blu. I'd be interested to know which Bond movie has sold more over the years. I doubt there was any logical reason for them to ignore Goldeneye in favor of some of the others that were released.

I also spent a lot on WWE DVDs last year (Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble sets). I guess I don't have to worry too much about that this year. I can't believe there's still no Survivor Series set to be had. I won't be shopping at iNetVideo this year either. I don't care how good their deals are as long as they refuse to offer shipping options. I don't do Media Mail. First Class+ or GTFO!
alot of the time they will not allow price matching on black friday. ymmv
Wal-Mart has every year in recent memory and even advertise that they "Even match the big sales!"

Walmart may because they said they would, and were (and generally are), very aggressive with their pricing. However many stores traditionally have not and state so in their policy. Last year, 2 of my BB stores just laughed and said "Sorry we don't price match on BF". It's anyone's guess whether, given the economy and cut-throat pricing, the stores will bend the rules-I'd say just try it, and maybe you'll let lucky-it can't hurt!:)

For the past 2 or 3 years, I've done all my BF shopping online usually as early as the night before. I think last year Amazon matched most of the good media sales. I used to anticipate getting up early and shopping, and then getting everything the night before - now I have no plans of getting up, I am positive I'll get what I want online.

BB won't price match on BF. They have it in their ads now I think saying that they won't match those prices. I think it's standard that they have it in there all year now.
I'm hoping for a deal on Watchmen Blu-ray.
Yeah I hate I jumped on it the week it came out but I saw it on Amazon within the last couple of weeks for $17.99.

I wonder what other Blu rays Kmart will have for $8.99 might not get over towards one that day.

Yeah, I remember buying 10 James bond blu rays for $49.90. What a rip off. I hope we get some better deals this year. ;)

Is it off MSRP or their regular price? I also hope it's available online...

The only thing I may consider this year is a Blu-Ray DVD player. Especially that Panasonic DMP-BD60 that I hear so much about (it's $137 now). Are those blu-ray players usually on sale on Black Friday?

Other than that, not sure what else I'm looking forward to other than to get some DVDs I don't have.
They didn't release the super big box like they did for Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania but they are releasing the 5 disc volumes in order. The first to volumes came out on November 3rd.
Target ad is up:
http://www.blackfriday.info/sales/target-black-friday-ad.html

I'm going to try to snag Gremlins :br: for $12
Ugh, just bought it at $19.99...but I still have the receipt. That and Gone With the Wind Blu for $12.99 I'd be interested in. Problem is, since both are exclusives, no PM from Amazon.

Now I just have to decide if it will be worth fighting the crowds. Last year, Amazon came through in such a big way, I didn't even have to go out...and that was nice.

It looks like Gone with the Wind is getting the Casablanca 'Un-Ultimated edition'

I wonder if that means the Wizard of Oz on sale is the pictured Emerald Edition or not.

Well, it'd be nice if Amazon matches/beats Target's price on the Dark Knight. I just wish we knew what Amazon will be doing. I'm not all that concerned with B&M ads, other than to speculate on what titles Amazon will end up having deals on.
