A: No one knows but here is a prediction list based on release / leaks in the last few years to give you an idea of possible release dates.

Q: When are stores open?
A: Look above for store times located next to store ads.

Q: Can I price match on Black Friday?
A: Price Matching differs from store to store. Here is the list of stores with if they PM or not on BF. You can also go here for further explanation on BF policy per store.

Q: Does Best Buy's GCU stack with Black Friday items?
A: No. GCU does not stacked with Black Friday items. Best Buy does have early Black Friday sales if you are an Elite / Elite Plus member. Sometimes it has shown to work within the early minutes of those early BF deals popping up. But it's YMMV.

Q: Does GameStop's Elite and Elite Pro stack with Black Friday items?
A: Yes but only for used items that will be in the ad.

So with a 4k TV on order, do I need to upgrade my one side to an X and/or ps4 to a pro model?
I haven't personally got to test the difference. I would like to get them both eventually if the price is right.
I'm leaning towards upgrading the Xbox first when I need to because I use it more.

If you don't have a 4K blu-ray player and want to watch 4K Ultra HD you'll need the Xbox One X. Streaming generally isn't going to give you that true clarity through your tv apps itself. The other question is what games are you interested in. Exclusives are generally in the PS4/Pro's favor, Xbox has a few and multiplatform releases should look better as well.

You said you use the system more so it's likely going to be what you want. If you want the best visual performance of both brands you'll want a Pro and an X. Keep in mind the next system generation is likely to be announced in 2019 and released by end of year or 2020.

Perhaps it’s not quite 4K, but streaming Netflix on my Xbox One S on a 4K TV looks awfully like 4K to me. 🤷‍♂️

It's not that you can't watch 4K UHD through streaming, but certain factors can compromise the visuals like compression and internet speed. Even the apps themselves can have hiccups while streaming affecting sound and visuals naturally.

Streaming 4k is on par with 1080p Blu Ray media. You need to watch a 4k UHD Blu Ray (that is "real" 4k) in HDR to fully appreciate the difference between streaming and physical media.

100% spot on. 4K streaming does not even compare to 4K UHD Blu Ray (even though it's still technically compressed the higher bitrate makes a huge difference in quality)

This is why I strongly recommend folks to not judge their picture quality based on a streaming service when you aren't even getting the full experience.

 
Red Dead Redemption 2 Steelbook at Walmart. It's $59 at all stores. Also saw the Minecraft Xbox One on the sales floor too.

Does BB typically have all of their BF deals for elite early access?  I'm popping on a ps4 spidey and would very much like to avoid the lines, but I can't remember if the console deals were part of that in the past or not

it hasn’t ever been all the deals but a decent random piece of the deals.
 
Damn so Walmart did have a steel for RDR2. I thought it was only F76 that had it, and it was some sneaky, combining wordplay.

I got the steelbook which, AFAIK, was only available from the Ultimate Edition from GS. It's alright as far as looks; plain with no real cool artwork or anything. The fact that it's a holder for two discs is what's intriguing to me.

I don't have a 4k Blu Ray player. As far games go there are some exclusives new and old I'm interested in red dead 2, forza horizon 4, spider-man, MLB the show, tomb raider, hitman, and assassin's creed odyssey. I heard the Witcher and horizon zero dawn has a 4k update available.

I have the show, horizon zero dawn, and the Witcher downloaded on my ps4. I plan on getting game pass for forza, and unless I somehow mange to get the funds for the red dead ps4 pro bundle . I will be getting the ultimate edition on Xbox because I was told it will look and run the best with an X model.

Any known issues with the newer systems? My current ps4 controller won't hold a charge like it used to anymore and the system runs a bit louder than it used to. Unless it has always done that and I didn't notice due to background noise. My one S won't play half my movie/TV collection anymore , but it used to which is the weird part. It will play all disc games no problem, but only certain movie/TV discs. Those discs will work in other players though lol.

Over the past several months, I've mainly just used my ps4 to play dirt 4, MLB the show and the Witcher. My Xbox has most of my streaming apps on it like vudu, mlb.TV , and Netflix.

I am hoping Octopath is one of those surprise BF sales that just happen randomly through the day. Otherwise I'm not really looking at a big haul this year.

Consoles aren't usually part of the Early Access. All the game deals should be live though.

 
Anyone know if Meijer store pick up works for BF ad items?

Would love to go in myself but closest store is 40 mins away and won't be near till following week

Looked into this a bit more. Exclusions from last year’s coupon did not specifically list the PS4 PRO as an exclusion but it did actually list the PS4, the Xbox One & the XB1X. So there’s a sliver of hope still?...

But maybe Playstation 4 means any & all PS4’s. But why would they specifically mention the XB1X & not the PS4 Pro (nor the XB1S)??.?.

So, the Walmart ad lists Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for XB1, but they don't even have a copy listed on the website currently. Anyone know what's up with that? They just have a pre-owned 360 copy...

Walmart gets games on shipper displays for black Friday. This must be one of those games, where they dont have any intention of sticking past black friday.

You can buy the Minecraft bundle in-store at Walmart right now. Just walk right up to the electronics counter like I did last night.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see the leap from the One X to the next XBOX console being huge. I assume it won't be 8K, and even if it was, I can't see 8K TV's being in full demand in 2020. Sure, it'll be a smoother FPS experience but will it be a significant enough difference from the X? The One X is awesome now and will likely still be awesome when the next X Console hits. I guess it comes down to how important it is on an individual basis to have the One X technology advantage now as opposed to later, and whether you have the $. The BF sales are likely enough to coax me into taking the plunge.

If I had to guess the target next gen will be 4K 60FPS with HDR. They will probably cut it back to 4K 30FPS as a minimum base.

 
Anybody know if kohl’s will have the PS4 slim Spider-Man bundle for selling online on BF?

they suppose to give $15 kohl’s cash every $50 spent. Are they the best option for getting this bundle? Is that too good to be true?

Did they honor your saved app trade-in value then? I had to go through a bit more trouble to reclaim my running for America's Next Top CheapAssGamer. The district manager called me on Wednesday and he said he talked to the store, and asked if they fixed things for me. I said I lost out on the original TIV for Monday but they upped it by $10 so I basically lost the bonus credit. He said no problem and called the store to have them issue me a $25 GameStop Gift Card which I picked up before closing. So now I got full credit even though it was a pain in the ass situation.

I really wish they had a Pro bundle for a great price, because while I want the Spider-Man 1TB Slim bundle the graphics whore in me will wonder if I made the right choice. I just need a sugar daddy/momma.

To answer your questions, yes that is the best deal. My ps4 came from kohls a couple years ago, actually. As for online, I imagine they will sell out super fast online so be online when it goes live(Thursday...they wont be available for early access). I went in store for mine and waited on line for store opening. Each store will have handful on hand so that is the only way to ensure you get the deal
